In a Facebook post on Tuesday (Feb 2), Mohamed Shahreza said "this kind soul", not only drove them from Yishun to KK Women's and Children's Hospital along Bukit Timah Road but also refused to accept the fare which amounted to $18. Mr Mohamed added that he and his wife were "touched by his care and concern for our son throughout the journey", and "grateful for his high sense of morality". The driver was identified in the post as David Ang Zhi Hao. According to Mr Mohamed, Mr Ang told the couple to treat the free ride as "an angbao for your baby, and may he get well soon with great health". Mr Mohamed wrote: "At this point, We were speechless and couldn't thank him more. (Okay we felt like crying... seriously). My guess is that the woman rode her bicycle across the zebra crossing instead of pushing it across and then the cabby suay suay knocked into her. Both were wrong but the cabby should share the bigger blame because as drivers we bo bian have to give way to pedestrians or cyclists even if we have the right of way. Unless the STOMPer was hiding something if not based on what was being described the cabby would kena jialat jialat from the authorities. And he should have sent the injured to the hospital regardless of what happened. "The taxi driver did not want to take any responsibility. He only sent her to a nearby clinic and paid $64 for her injection. "He made a lot of noise when paying. He also refused to send my friend to NUH even though the clinic's doctor had recommended that my friend go for an x-ray, and my friend was unable to walk. "We told the taxi driver to send us to the nearest police station as we wanted to lodge a report. When we arrived at the Jurong Division Police Station, we were greeted by Officer Kumar who advised us to proceed to NUH and even called an ambulance for my friend. She described what happened to reporters, "I was playing on this jackpot machine until 6am and my stored value card had already accumulated about $800 in winnings. Suddenly, I struck the Bonus Cash jackpot of $416,742.11." At the time, Mdm Zhu was confused with what happened until a bystander explained to her that she had struck a jackpot prize. Many other casino patrons also came up to her to congratulate her on the win. She continued, "Soon after, the manager of the casino came up to me and told me that the jackpot machine had malfunctioned. The manager explained to me that the machine's top prize is a car, and that its highest cash payout is only $50,000, so I could not have struck that Bonus Cash prize. The manager also explained that I could get $258,962 if I decide to sell the car back to the dealer." Mdm Zhu refused to settle with the manager's explanation and insisted that she was entitled to her win, which the jackpot machine clearly displayed. At that time, a casino patron had also stepped forward to help her by taking a photo of the displayed cash prize as evidence. The man was however, stopped by casino staff who warned him that photo-taking is not allowed in the casino. The staff then asked the man to hand over his phone and indicated that they will be deleting the photo. The man was then escorted out of the casino. Mdm Zhu has lodged a complaint with the Casino Regulatory Authority of Singapore, which is currently investigating the case. Was quite pissed off when my mum recounted this to me yesterday, I sent them to Changi Airport and they had a fun time granny and grandkid. Thereafter, the both of them took a train to my place (My daughter loves taking public transport). On the train an old lady in her 60s boarded and a kind soul gave up his seat, immediately a 20+ year old PRC plonked himself into the seat. Standing up for herself, the old lady in her 60s said the seat was meant for her. The PRC refused to get up saying he didn't know. A lady in her 40s seating beside the PRC gave up her seat instead to the lady in her 60s, when the lady sat down she gave the PRC a long tirade about the matter. The PRC guy actually shot back and said he didn't know and the more he gets scolded, all the more he will not get up. In the end he was scolded so badly he finally gave up. My daughter was frightened by this behaviour as they got quite loud, my mum said she was about to give the PRC guy a piece of her mind but my daugher was there and she didn't want to set a bad example. I told her that by showing my daughter to stand up for people's rights, it is actually setting a good example. It is civic and moral duty being taught. These PRCs we are getting in are really getting on my nerves with their heck care and me first only mentality.

to cut story short, so using point form: - honey bees tried building a hive in my house's sub woofer - called my Town Council who sent down their pest contractors 3 to 4 hours after my first call to them - contractor eradicated the problem, and i paid the contractor directly as Town Council earlier informed that it is my responsibility to bear the cost, as the bees were building a hive in my house, not comon area. - no choice got to pay, otherwise my whole house would be filled with bees. - tried seeking compensation from Town Council later - eventual answer from Town Council is no, on the basis that "functions of a Town Council are to control, manage, maintain and improve the common property of the residential and commerical property in the housing estates of the Board within the Town. You may also wish to check the lease agreement signed with HDB that the lessee of the flat is responsible for the upkeep of the flat. " - subsequently, I asked Town Council that if i had immediately dumped the sub-woofer into the common rubbish dump area, who will assume the responsibility? Their reply was Town Council. in gist, really feel that i have been penalised. While trying to be a good resident by containing the problem within my house compound, i could have easily dumped the old sub woofer into the common and case closed. Sigh

Was involved in a chain accident along expressway. I was the last vehicle and my radiator got busted pretty bad. I only managed to get the hp numbers of the 2 drivers in front before we shoo-ed off to the road shoulder, whereby the driver in front of me soon drove off. The thing is, the driver got my particulars from me, but has since refused to reply with his/her particulars. What's the logical reason someone might do this? Invalid licence? Or plotting to claim medical bills using someone else's ID? I just can't think of a reasonable reason why someone would refuse unless there is some scheming involved. Anyone care to give opinions?
