AN ACCIDENT along the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) on Hari Raya Haji has resulted in one death, three casualties and a massive traffic jam (see photos below). A prime mover was travelling along the PIE towards Tuas when it ran over a road divider and jumped into oncoming traffic from the opposite direction. The accident happened on the Paya Lebar flyover at about 10am Wednesday. According to a source at the scene of the accident, a "little girl" was flung out of the prime mover through the windscreen upon impact and thrown onto the road. She did not seem to be wearing a seatbelt at that time, the source said. Oncoming traffic then ran over the little girl. A police spokesman said a 12-year-old girl was conveyed to the Changi General Hospital, along with three other casualties. It was not known if they were all occupants of the prime mover. Unfortunately the girl succumbed to her injuries at about 11am and was pronounced dead, said the police spokesman. Aftermath All three lanes on the Paya Lebar flyover were closed and traffic was diverted to the Paya Lebar exit along PIE for a few hours on Wednesday. The accident had happened around 10am and only one lane on the flyover was reopened by around 12 noon. A police spokesman told AsiaOne they received a call about a prime mover accident at around 10am. According to a Singapore Civil Defence Force spokesman, one female casualty had a left-leg fracture while the other suffered a head abrasion. The male casualty complained of pain in the legs and hips. The deceased had head injuries. Link

Hari Raya Causeway/2nd Link Traffic conditions?
Dogbert1973 posted a topic in General Car Discussion
Am thinking of driving into Malaysia during school holidays But it coincides with the Hari Raya holidays, so am worried about traffic at the causeway/2nd link any guys with previous experience driving during Hari Raya itself? Hari Raya is Friday , so how is traffic on: 1) Thursday (Eve of Hari Raya) - is there heavy traffic of people going to/from Malaysia to celebrate? 2) Friday (Hari Raya Public Holiday) - I guess it should be super jammed with locals going JB 3) Saturday (2nd day of Hari Raya) - is there many malaysian cars coming over Singapore to visit relatives? also wondering will the Malaysian customs be very slow because all the Malay immigration officers on holiday? all feedback will be appreciated -
All my friends already got their holiday plan... I felt so left out... Thought of having a short trip to Melaka or Desaru this weekend. Wonder will it be jam on normal trunk road to Desaru? NSH should be quite heavy traffic..

Hi Bros, Info for those who pump NGV in Msia. I just saw earlier today that NGV Sentra is closing for Hari Raya tomorrow 20th Sept Sunday from 4am to 11pm. If sentra is closed, I doubt the smaller ones are opened. Just in case any bro planning to go.....

Based on what my Malaysian counterparts have told me: a) The Malaysian enjoy toll-free for NSH during this festival so people will be "encouraged" to drive. Expect heavy traffic up North. Some said Johor will be a "dead" town during this time. b) Today, all schools stopped class already, so add on to the traffic. c) Malaysian Police force claimed that they will no be erecting road blocks during this festival to ease congestion on NSH. d) No heavy vehicles or trucks are allowed on NSH during this festival. Have a safe trip to all . Regards,
