ANy Idea how much it will cost to sound proof the whole car interior
-
I was shopping around for a resale HDB housing and came across a flat which was quite ideal except for its close proximity to an MRT rail-line. I am wondering if it is possible to sound-proof a bedroom so that the passing train would not disturb my sleep. How much would it typically cost and is it effective? Would appreciate if you could share your experience.

Was wondering if anyone know where to get these. I saw a few threads but all of them damn old already...2006. I wanna try DIY, anyone knows the rough cost to buy? Or any other similar sound proofing material also can. Thanks in advance! =)

Hi guys, need some advice as this is an area I know little about. My main gripe is road noise from the tyres, and the OEM A349 Aspecs seem to be getting louder (or maybe its because i've been driving the punto more, and it became quieter after I changed the P4's to K415's). Anyway, I'm trying to figure out what way I can most effectively lower the road noise levels. Do note that in their weight reduction scheme for the DE model Mz2's and Demios, Mazda has minimised the SPing done, and if you lift up the spare wheel cover, you'll realise that there is only some minimal spray/paint on sound deadener. In no particular order, this is what I'm planning on doing. Basically I'm targeting a cumulative reduction in tyre noise volume. 1) Change tyres to either the Hankook K415's or Kumho KH17's. Any comments on either tyre in comparison to each other?? 2) Get someone to use the spray on/paint on deadener in my wheel arches. Extra coat in the rears as more noise is coming from them. I've read that it helps. 3) Cover the entire boot floor and spare wheel well in sound absorbing materials. Should I do the same for the back of the rear seats and/or the underside of the parcel shelf??? 4) Soundproof the firewall on the engine side. Sound absorbing mats at the lower sections extending to a little under the car, and sound reflecting sheets at the upper 1/3rd My assumption with the firewall and boot soundproofing is that both the engine bay and boot act as resonators to increase the road noise. Oh one last thing, When the bass from my music gets too deep, my front door cards seems to vibrate against the inner frame. Should I just use 1.5/2mm insulation foam to line the frame or should I just SP my front doors??? I've heard that you get tighter bass with the latter.

it seems that Avante ride is much quieter than forte's. Is it due to the sound-clad which comes with avante or tire size? Avante comes with sound clad SP and thicker tires. Or is it due to other reasons???

I heard nowadays new cars are made with materials that are anti-corrosive in nature. So what's the point of sending the car in for those periodic rust proof coating / re-coating?? The car's coe expires in 10yrs and more likely than not, we would have sold it or scrapped it in 5yrs time. My bro has a Nissan Sunny for 8yrs, he hasn't been to a rust proofing agent once, and its still rust free to this day. Anyone's view different from mine?
