We have all read in the papers about how people win big big in casino and how others lose a large fortune there also. So some will win and some will lose. Is there really such thing as a professional gambler who wins consistently(say 7 or 8 out of 10 games) so that he/she does not need to work? I started this topic out of curiosity and thought it may be an interesting topic. Any real life examples will be great !

Hi gents, would like to seek your advices and opinions. My car had a recall from Cycle on the urea tank issue and cycle had replaced during the warranty period. I had another urea injector replaced just before my warranty ends however today I had a fault code on the urea emission but the car no longer has warranty. Just passed the 100k mark. My question is if the fault is again on the urea, can i still claim warranty from AD since recall issue has not being resolve which is due to manufacturer fault? My car is a citroen diesel.

I am thinking of bidding for an auction car. Some of the cars, although quite new, has intensive smell in the interior. I am not sure if it is cigarette smell. Are there anyone providing service to get rid of this smell? I think it is too much to ask for new car smell... :)

Do you really read and say, no I better not go through this or you just have no other alternative. Is there a better way to address this and ensure doctors ensure they discharge their duties in the best interest of their patients.

Anyway, apparently, this clip is at least 10-year-old and allegedly came from the Dark Web. But despite having been around for so long and having been watched by so many people, nobody has solved this internet mystery yet. Who is that guy eating soup in the video? What exactly happened? There has been several theories so far but, unfortunately, no one has come forward with conclusive evidence. Theory #1. He was eating the remains of his loved ones There are some who claimed that the man and his family were abducted by gangsters. The wife (or daughter in some versions) was killed pretty early and they made the soup-eating guy eat the remains of his wife or daughter. That's why he's crying throughout the video. Theory #2. He's the victim of a snuff film Another theory says that the soup-eating man was the victim in a snuff film and the full version only exists in the deep recesses of the Dark Web. That's why the man started crying only when he's approached by the man in the doll costume. Because the victim knew then that his time was up. Theory #3. It's a prank Some say it's just an internet prank. And people who support this theory say that if it were an actual video recording of a real crime in progress, the FBI would have gotten on the case. Assuming, of course, that it was actually filmed in America. And well, there's some proof that it's filmed in USA. Because the designer of the costumes was in the country and the doll costumes were stolen from a club in the country. What do you guys think?

Can anyone advise if it is possible to recycle regular alkaline/heavy duty batteries? I have read that rechargeable batteries are recyclable, but found nothing about regular single use batteries. Personal belief that we are using a lot, and perhaps we can do more to re-use, re-purpose and recycle stuff. Thanks!

hi guys, Here's my question. is it possible to buy a deregistered car in singapore and don pay the cost of actuallyusin it on the road?(no COE,etc etc) and just keep it? like those local race team, i here those cars have so much mods in them that they are pure track cars? since they are not registered, they are definitely not allowed on roads rite. lets say, i like this old car which is about to be scrapped. can i just pay the body value and keep the car somewhere(ie on private property)? or if u deregister a car, u die die have to scrap it or export it? I don intend to makea track car, but a car for another competition purpose in future. Is this possible? thanks guys. cheers

Like many I have issues with the atrocious footages of my 5-month old BV DR400G-HD II. The footages were crystal clear initially but now deteriorated untill There were another problem which was the out-of-sync date and time on the unit but i managed to solve it with the help of our resident cam guru Adrian (read post http://www.mycarforum.com/index.php?s=&...t&p=4771472 onwards) The poor video image was initially thought to be the defective lens and there was a suggestion to find a replacement lens machiam what I did for my faulty internal battery. Curious I dismantled the unit for the 1,000th-time and this time I unscrewed the two screws securing the lens to the unit and found out the real cause of the poor image: the internal lens surface was simply covered with dust!!! So I just took a medical alcohol swap to clean all 3 surfaces: both the external/internal lens plus the tiny rectangular film-like surface on the unit (is this the CMOS thingy?) like shown below: Once done I assembled the entire unit and tested it out to see if I was right.

Hi all, I just wondering if we can register a passenger van ( Merc Vito or the Renault) as a S-plate vehicle to ferry 10 of our family in comfort.. priority is towards safety for the family and comfort.. I asked C&C and they have the Vianos (8 seater), but too ex ($195K), but the salesman say can register the diesel version as S-plate and no need pay diesel levy ($6-9k), but the road tax at $4k a yr Any bros or sis have this same dilemma? How to persuade someone to seek help for possible depression

Dear all, how do one persuade someone close to you to seek medical help for signs of depression? I've noticed some changes in this person's behaviour and think its good to seek help early but don't wish to hurt or agitate that person by telling him/her to seek psychiatric help. Some of the things mentioned by this person includes; 1) Talking about suicides 2) Referring to suicide articles and saying he/she will do the same 3) Out of the blue saying things like: "Don't push me or I will jump and let you see" 4) Become very emo all of the sudden 5) Look very lost and helpless when alone 6) Starting to depend on everyone for his/her needs as if we should spoonfeed him/her. With those said, its very surprising as this person do not mention all these things at all previously but seems to talk about it every now and then, even when no one agitates him/her. An example is when we went out for dinner. Halfway through the dinner, he/she will say something like: "You all better don't push me to my limits or I will jump". Its really out of the blue when everyone is just eating and not saying anything that will trigger this kind of reaction. Hope to get some advice from all of you on how to persuade or bring this person to seek medical help.- 37 replies

Posting here to be the witness of possible hit and run. On 7 Aug 2015 at 8.47pm, I was on the way home on PIE towards ECP. Just before the eunos exit, I saw you, a biker and your pillion which skidded from middle lane and fell to the third lane. I'm not sure whether you really skidded as there was a yellow car following very closely behind you. I was about 100m away behind the yellow car. Based on what I remembered that his car distance to your bike is about half a bonnet length all the way from he filtered behind you till your fall. The road was slightly damp from the rain, but definitely no signs of water puddles or oil spill. I saw that he tried to stop 200m away after your fall, but eventually drove off. Since then, he kept to lane 3 and drove at a very slow spend at about 60km/hr. Initially all of us are in the middle lane at the driving spend of about 74km/hr based on my in car gps. Hence, I'm not sure whether your skid was due to his tailgate which accidentally bump onto your backside. My car cam was unable to capture his carplate clearly as I was too far from him. However, if he is really the driver who caused your fall, I'm willing to be your witness and provide the relevant video scene which my car cam had captured.

Police looking for 2 men who robbed woman of $50,000 Wed, Apr 09, 2008 The Straits Times POLICE are looking for two men who robbed a woman of $50,000 on Tuesday. One of the men, armed with a knife, confronted the woman in her 60s in the driveway of her house, off Braddell Road, as she was getting out of her BMW car. Her three-year-old grand-daughter and a Filipino maid were in the car at the time. The robber got into the rear seat with the girl and maid and ordered the woman to drive to a bank at Hougang Central. Along the way, the second robber joined them. At the bank at Block 850A Hougang Central, the woman was made to withdraw $50,000. The robbers took the money and fled at about 1.30pm. Police said the two robbers were Chinese. The first suspect, aged between 30 and 40 years, is slim, with tanned complexion and is about 1.7m tall. He spoke to the victim in English and was last seen wearing a black jacket with dark pants, and a navy blue baseball cap. The second man, aged between 40 and 50 years, was last seen in a black and white striped shirt and dark coloured pants. As the woman was taken to the bank to get money, the maid and the little girl were locked inside the car parked at a multi-storey carpark in Hougang. The maid waved furiously to a man for help as he was pulling into the lot beside the BMW. Mr Ting Ming Sheng, 45, who runs a coffee stall at a hawker stall, was shocked when he saw the two in the car, which was locked from outside, with the child-safety locks engaged. He wanted to call the police, but the maid begged him not to, saying that the robber had threatened to kill all of them if she alerted the police. Hope fellow bros and sisters can advise... pardon me if the explanation is not clear To switch on a car headlights, just turn the signal knob right? Turn once, for small lights plus fog lamp (if toggled on) and turn fully for big lights plus fog lamp (if toggled on). Now the current issue... Fog lamp is toggled on. Turn knob once but no lights from headlights nor fog lamp, not even rear lights! But when brakes are depressed, rear lights and brake light activated. HUD headlights icon not shown. Fog lamp still toggled on. Fully turned the knob, this time big headlights activated however it is not the case for fog lamp and rear lights. HUD headlights icon still not shown. I've changed a new battery but problem still persist. So what's the problem here? Which component is spoilt or faulty?

Many modern cars in Singapore only come with automatic transmission (e.g. BMW, Mercedes, Cefiro, Nissan March 1.4 (K12)). I am wondering if it is possible to convert the transmission from automatic to manual. Will such conversion be approved by LTA, is it a diffcult process and how much would it typically cost to do so? -
I am wondering if Malaysia accepts import of 10-year old sg car and if yes,any procedures to certify and register it in malaysia? considering Malaysia is our neighbour, if rules permitting, we can even drive it across as mode of export, the export cost would be next to nothing. Anyone done it before or knows how to do it?
