I do not have access to a 240v power outlet when polishing my car. I am thinking of getting a polisher/buffer that runs off the car cigarette lighter. Has anyone got experience with this? Any recommended model/brand? TIA.

hi there , i just brought a makita 9227c polisher, it comes with 7inch backing with those velcro stuff, it comes with those wooly polisher for polishing which i don think is wnuf for light cutting jobs, any one can point me the way to find light or medium cutting 7 inch pads and also polishing pads for my makita, hopefully also can include some wax or compound to go with diff pads would be nice too(and rad how michie i`m looking at), i`ve seen the meguairs 7 inch pads and i`m kinda intrested in them, but before i plonk down these i better ask ard for advise, so far i`ve read the makita are sound investment, as i`m taking care of 2 cars and constant circular motion have taken a toll on my arms, so i think i let the machine do their job and sart at speed 1 on the makita first, scared to burn my paint job up using rotary

I love my wheels but having a hard time keeping brake dust and what not off it. I normally use cotton pad and Zaino Z5/Z2 to polish the surface of wheel but it is getting harder (and me getting lazier). Anyone here knows if there are any mini polisher that is battery (or car battery) operated that could be used to polish wheels? I've looked at a few. For example, the B&D scrubber, it is actually meant for washing dishes. As such, the fittings are all not friendly to painted surface like wheels. I've also thought about buying one of those battery operated hand tool but again finding the right attachment to polish the wheel would be hard. So, anyone has any suggestions?

Hi all! I love doing DIY detailing on my ride. But washing thoroughly then waxing by hand can easily take up 4 hours. Not to mention an aching back and stiff fingers... So, I would like to invest in an orbital buffer but there doesn't seem to be much variety in the local shops. Most common model is the Black & Decker, available at HomeFix or Carrefour. Any reviews on this or other models? And where can I get them? A prerequisite is that it should be 'safe' enough to be handled by a first-timer like me... and 'safe' meaning that I won't cause catastrophic damage to my paintwork.. Hahaha

Hi bros, just bought a $40 polisher at autobacs.... However, upon using it, it only seems useful in applying wax. When i tried to buff it off, it takes forever and i will not get any shine at all. Back to square 1, i will have to wax by hand again Have i used it the wrong way? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I stay in HDB... and want to use my KP600.. realized the plug at my MSCP is this type : My 3 pin plug can't fit into this socket as the socket is somehow bigger. Anyone knows if there are any convertors we can use? If cannot, then where can we polish the car besides going to private housing?

HI Guys and Gals.. Just bought the B and D KP600 RO polisher last week and finally got to use it over the weekend. Took me at least 6 hours and need a massage now, haha. I will try and briefly describe the steps i took. 1. Shampoo with Megs Gold class shampoo 2. Claybar 3. Turtlewax swirl remover and buff off with KP600 4. Megs NXT Tech Wax and buff off with KP600 5. Megs #20 Polymer Sealant. Applied with foam applicator and wipe off with microfibre towel. I like this product as it leaves a nice glossy look on the surface although i am told the #21 is better. You can view the product on this URL. Just copy and paste. http://www.meguiars.com/?pro-liquid-car-wa...Polymer-Sealant 6. Finished off with NXT Speed Detailer for that extra glossy look.Spray on and wipe off. I am not sure if i should be putting any products over the #20 but i always liked the shine and gloss from the NXT Speed detailer. Any bros here can advice if my steps were right or wrong considering the products that i have. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here are the photos i stored in webshots. Wish i had a better camera. http://community.webshots.com/myphotos?act...security=FCnAaj
