Man picks up someone else's DBS bank card at Toa Payoh, enters '888888' & retrieves S$8,000 from account source: https://mothership.sg/2020/11/dbs-bank-card-pin-number-888888/ A 39-year-old storeman has been sentenced to nine weeks' jail after picking up a bank card which was left behind at a DBS ATM machine in Toa Payoh. He admitted to one count of dishonestly misappropriating the card and two counts of theft. Accused took bank card left behind by previous ATM user According to court documents, the incident happened on April 2 when the victim, 46-year-old man Goh Heng Yong forgot to take his bank card after making a bank transfer at an ATM machine at 222 Lorong 8 Toa Payoh. When 39-year-old Yap Yi San went to that machine, he found the card in the card slot of the ATM machine. He kept the card, went to another ATM machine at 500 Toa Payoh Lorong 6, and attempted to guess the PIN number. Guessed the PIN number right on third attempt On his third try, he managed to guess the PIN Number right which was a series of the number "8". Yap then withdrew S$2,000 from the machine before going to another ATM machine to withdraw more money. At 1:33am on April 3, Goh made a police report stating that he had forgotten to take his bank card after using it at the ATM machine. Prior to that, he had also found out that there were unauthorised transactions amounting to S$8,000. On Nov. 18, Yap admitted to his offence in court and has made full restitution to Goh. Yap was sentenced to nine weeks' jail eventually. The district judge said the sentence serves as a "sufficient deterrent" to dissuade others from committing similar offences, according to The Straits Times.

I'm flying to KL for a short holiday soon, bought Air Asia tickets long ago. Few days ago received email and SMS that my return flight is rescheduled to more than 2 hours earlier, which means that I'll have to wake up very early to catch the flight back to SG, which is certainly a mood spoiler. I want to change to a later flight back to SG. There was a malaysia number to call and a password that is supposed to get me to an agent, tried calling but got error message 'invalid or incorrect password' after keying in the password. I'm sure I keyed in correctly. Tried the 'live chat' function on their website, but there was no one attending to me after a long wait. Have just tried to email them, hope to get a reply soon. Anyone had similar experience before? I flew by Air Asia once or twice before and had no problems with it. Think this might be my last time flying with them, flight can get rescheduled as and when they like? What if it disrupts our travel plans? And seems like no customer service provided. Ok don't remind me it's budget. And for those who are thinking about flying with them, may need to reconsider.

Curious how many people know your login and password to FB, email, forums and so one. We had some funny incidents in the news recently. For example: - Someone's facebook posting was on cooling day. Claimed it was posted by her assistant - Someone posted inflammatory remarks online. Her husband claims he was the real culprit Nowadays is giving out your password the hip thing to do?

So anyway I read that password is the most common password. And I must admit that I often use it for accounts that I don't care if they get hacked (like yousendit for example) so I don't have to remember. So I was just wondering if you care to share your password philsophy at all. (BTW - my password here used to be password, but don't bother trying, I have changed it already)
