  1. Hi, Need to ask the experts here. I bought used cars from direct sellers before and we did direct transfer and cashier order hand over in LTA. There is a line in the LTA transfer form for the seller to declare that he has no more outstanding loan. My question is , how do I know if one really has no outstanding loan? can one make a false declaration and end up my car get towed by finance company after the ownership is transferred? I guess once the ownership is transferred, finance company cannot reposes the car from the new owner?
  2. hi guys, we all heard in news that some pple buy used car and later found that previpus loan not settled and later car kenna repossessed by finance company. is there a way to find out if a car got no outstanding loan and that the seller or dealer has paid in full for it? otherwise the buyer may get a double whammy, pay downpayment and later car kenna towed away because previpus loan not settled. is there a websitr or source to check and confirm since dealers can say what they like?
  3. Saw in 2 weeks ago malaysia news that they will soon stopping cars from leaving malaysia with outstanding summons, intitial thoughts was "talk only".. Last week saw major road block at 2nd link but was already pass midnight and started raining so wasnt stop... Yesterday when entering EDL highway from tebrau area towards woodlands checkpoint, shits!!! Roadblock They divert ALL cars into the R&R and every single car plate is scan through their system to check for outstanding summons.End up Rm1k poorer exiting the R&R for summons backdate all in 2012.. Not saying speeding is right but there are alot ladies there summons for over 5-10km/h some backdate from 2008-2009 Just in in case any bro may be going into jb during this ops period do at least bring credit card along as they will compound car and only release until you pay up no matter how..and there is no "special counter" where u can negotiate discount price..
  4. I received a letter for beating the red light 4 days ago, 20 days after the offence was committed. I have been checking the traffic police website every day since the day I saw the flash. The website kept saying I have no outstanding offence. I happily thought the red light camera flash that day was a bogus one. Infact even today, the website is still saying I have no offence. Just because the webpage says you have no offence, don't celebrate yet!! The webpage is totally crap!
  5. My friend is staying in blk 708 Tampines. Wish to sell off once reached 5 years which in Dec. Need to ask few questions: 1) He checked his total outstanding in May from CPF and HDB site. HDB=$171404. CPF got to pay back is $135485. He checked in Oct, HDB=$170208, CPF got to pay back $138629. Why is the amount he got to pay back is increasing? Thought it should be decreasing right? If based on this theory, the longer he keep the house, the more the outstanding and the profit he make is lesser. Can any agents please advise? 2) He stayed on a high floor, with mostly original condition interior, except nice painting, oak kitchen cabinet and build-in wardrobe. Whats is the average valuation and COV he can ask for? Seems that from the website, most are asking at least $400k. Can he really find buyer if asking price is $400k?
