  3. My Dad asked me to change for him but it seems to be sold out everywhere. Don't ask me to get from Carousell. Disgusting mark up. RadX must have bought alot. No need to Q.
  4. Anyone experience this before? I didn't check the note is passed to me by the hawker. Then this morning when I take out my note i realised it's torn. Nowadays not all bank have people station there. What do you all do with torn note? any tips?
  5. http://www.asiaone.com/News/Latest%2BNews/...413-339606.html I personally do not use POSB, I find that it not only inconvenience low-income earners but also to everyone else especially when you need to buy something small. When a lot of ppl wanna pay for a bowl of $3 noodles with a $50 note how is the hawker gonna come up with so much change? UOB ATMs at least has an option of minimum $80 withdrawal which has a mix of 3 x $10 and 1 x $50. The next option is $200 btw. MAS is printing more $50 dan $10? So difficult to squeeze $10 notes into the ATMs as it takes up more space and hold lesser value dan $50 notes? The cash escorts make less trips if the ATMs are stuffed with $50 notes? Diesel expensive or the COE for the trucks transporting the cash too expensive? OMG, gahment's fault again . Knn, how not to drift the topic to gahment...again? I hope the ppl working at the banks can be smarter dan studying the "cash withdraw pattern" from a machine and give ppl more options coz there's not much to begin with.

  8. Now that the SMS is king, love letters have largely gone the way of the dinosaur, but that doesn't mean that couples still don't like to share a love note or two once in a while. And when your significant other has a good sense of humor, they're that much better! this one could be the most used line...

  10. Bro, Have been using my Galaxy Notes for several months but today, for some reason, it can't connect to my notebook. Did a KIES reinstallation, but it didn't help.
  11. Thinking of switching to S3 soon. I already my gmail synced previously when setting up the accounts in Settings -> Mails/contacts/calender. But it only sync notes, calendar + mail. It has no option to sync my contacts straightaway. After I did some reading, if u choose the option of setting up Microsoft Exchange account but use your gmail address and login after adding m.google.com to the server, u can sync calendar, contacts and mail. BUT it doesn't sync my notes. Is there a workaround for this problem? Am i doing anything wrong? Or should i manually just export the contacts to Win 7 contacts then just export to gmail when i get it? Any advice?
  12. Hi all May I know where to buy big ang pow to give future mother in law? Also, which is a sure bank to have new notes for exchange? Thanks..!
  13. I'm currently a Iphone user. If I get a Iphone 4S or 5, I can easily transfer everything from Outlook to Iphone 4S. But as for Galaxy note, I wonder whether can the data be easily transferred to Galaxy Note via Outlook or you need special tools, and whether the transferred is 100% complete. A part from the bigger screen, why do you prefer Galaxy Notes over Iphone?
  14. Hi Bro, After upgrading to OS4 for my Iphone 3GS, I couldn't sync my notes. I've disabled the following settings but it didn't help. Setting --> Mail, Contacts, Calenders --> Accounts: turned off "Notes". Have tried both settings, on and off, neither works.
  15. Hi bros i have a polymer 10 dollar note that was given to me as change...i didnt notice it was torn... where can i exchange it?
  16. This is so hilarious I just have to post it up here for all to see. Warning : For entertainment purposes only! In no way do we condone using Post-It notes for anything other than boring memos. ------ Original article taken from AsiaOne Motoring. Respect my car space By Fiona Chan In a peaceful little cul-de-sac somewhere in the west of Singapore lives a family that is - almost - like any other. They have a bunch of well-dressed kids, a lovely house and a garage that can hold three cars comfortably. There's just one problem: The household has more than three cars. Quite a lot more. Seven, to be exact. When the entire family comes home, as inevitably they do, their cars - marked by the same digits on all their licence plates - overflow onto the road in front of their house like a vehicular oil spill. They seep insidiously into the lots in front of their neighbours' houses, tarring their personal space and polluting their goodwill. I know this because every time I drive over to visit my friend, who lives opposite this family, I have to dodge their cars while looking for somewhere convenient to park. Of course, it's not illegal to take up parking spaces that your neighbours don't use. It's not even morally wrong for a single household to own seven cars (although I, the owner of half a car, think it should be). But, to me, buying several more cars than your own house can accommodate is the height of inconsideration. It's not like there isn't an obvious solution: Just sell one of the sports cars and use the money to build a bigger garage, for heaven's sake. Then again, thoughtless motoring behaviour appears to be the norm in Singapore. In my own, significantly less wealthy, estate, many of the older single-storey houses are too small to shelter even one car. So residents park their cars right outside their houses, on both sides of the narrow road, along which runs a single white line. This is actually illegal but the owners clearly don't care. What they seem more concerned about is glaring at me as I am forced to inch my car through the obstacle course created by their protruding vehicles to get to my house. I've never actually rammed into one of their cars. But I am always tempted to. The same goes for all those foodies who park illegally outside eateries - even when there is a perfectly legitimate carpark just a few minutes' walk away - just so they can maximise their eating convenience. The Sunday Times ran an article last week about how nerve-racking it is for these drivers to dine and dash. But it is 10 times worse for the rest of us, who have our nerves shredded trying to carefully squeeze past their obstructive cars, and don't even get to stuff our faces. What I would love to do is paste notes on the dashboards of these parked cars and make them look like parking summonses, just to give their owners a scare. "Gotcha, sucker!" these notes will say. "Next time it will be for real." I don't quite have the meanness - or, to be honest, the balls - to do this, although my friends tell me they've stuck Post-it warnings on the cars they've seen illegally parked near their homes. All I do, in a cowardly fashion, is live in hope that one day the traffic police will come knocking on the doors of these parking idiots. After all, in Singapore, that seems to be to be the only way that anyone can be persuaded to do what in other countries would be plain common sense. Take buses for example. You might think that letting a poor lumbering bus exit from its bus bay would be a natural instinct for other motorists. But no, drivers have to be threatened with a fine before they will give way to a bus. Unfortunately, there's no penalty for drivers who grumble loudly and non-stop about the new law. Do we really have to introduce - and enforce - punishments for every thinkable inconsiderate driving activity? Surely there is some shame in always having the obvious spelt out in the form of a law? If there's anything I've learnt from years of kindness campaigns, it's that courtesy can't be taught. So I'm taking matters into my own hands. The next time I visit my friend in his cul-de-sac, his neighbours better watch out. I'll be armed - with a bunch of Post-its. [email protected]

  20. for those of you who bought minibonds, credit linked notes etc, please go and check whether Merrill, Lehman or AIG are one of the reference entities on your product as well. there could be a early redemption event coming up and the promises of capital protection may be gone. not to cause panic, but most people thought these products were 100% capital protected...
  21. Home > Latest News > Singapore March 26, 2008 Have $50 notes with 'KF' mark? MAS says they're worthless By Esther Tan WHEN Mr G.S. Lee withdrew some money from an OCBC Bank ATM at Compass Point earlier this month, three of his $50 notes seemed a bit strange - the letters 'KF' were on the top right hand corner. The bank told him then that there was 'no problem with the notes', he said, but the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) has since clarified that such notes have been mutilated on purpose and are therefore worthless. The letters looked 'legally imprinted', said Mr Lee in an e-mail to The Straits Times online portal, Stomp, asking what the letters might mean. But 'KF' is not part of the $50 note's design, said MAS' spokesman, adding it did not know what 'KF' stood for. 'Notes with such markings are considered to be deliberate mutilation and they command no value,' she added. Anyone who has notes with the markings can take them to the banks to be exchanged, she said, and MAS will take the notes back as an 'act of grace'. When contacted, OCBC's head of group corporate communications Koh Ching Ching said currency could have become defaced while being circulated. She said the bank's ATMs will be checked so any other mutilated notes can be retrieved. She added that OCBC's tellers are 'trained to look out for defaced or mutilated notes and handle them as per guidelines provided by MAS', and that it has reminded its staff to be vigilant. AH DUHZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I withdraw ATM and got such notes, U don't exchange with me and still tell me its worthless???? "act of grace" BS!!!
