We can all learn from this runner on how to be unbothered by the chaos and negativity in life, to carry on and remain focused in the midst of uncertainty and adversity. I make it sound like a car almost crashed into her but hey, there was certainly a crash. What happened? On 2nd May 2023 at Woodlands Ring Road, a cyclist crashed into a motorcyclist turning right to enter a car park. Bro was zooming. If he did brake he might want to check the brakes work properly. There was no sign of jerking and it was a smooth ride to hit the motorcyclist. This led to the cyclist coming off his bike and tumbling onto the motorcyclist, who was knocked down in turn. Both parties were able to get up, although there is no audio to determine what words they exchanged afterwards. However, the star of the show to me was the runner when all this unfolded just to her right. The camera footage is too blurry to tell if she turned her head or not but I assume a bike and motorcycle knocking into each other would make a fair bit of noise. However, she remained unfazed, and continued running at a steady rhythm. If she was wearing an earpiece I want to know what model because the noise cancelling on that must be insane. Online chatter People noted the runner continuing on her way, with some wondering if she knew what was going on at all. Others blamed the cyclist for not stopping and allowing the motorcycle to enter the carpark. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Rider and pillion take a tumble after hitting NV250 while changing lane
Fadevfast posted a blog entry in MyAutoBlog
How easy is it to get a motorcycle license? Whoever’s in charge might want to up the difficulty if this rider was able to pass. What happened? On 17 April yesterday, a motorcyclist and their passenger hit a Nissan NV350 while changing lanes on the Pan-Island Expressway. Yeah, ‘big whoop’, I hear you say, but what gets me is how avoidable this was. Another biker was able to continue in that same lane with no issues. You could argue it’s that other biker’s fault, since they passed them right before they were about to change lanes. But they were still facing the road and so could see that this biker was going way faster than them. There was also enough distance to see that there was plenty of time to slow down. However, if you look at the Nissan, notice how it accelerated before slowing down as well. Yet even once it slowed down, there’s a solid two seconds before our main biker hit the Nissan with no signs of braking. Regardless of external factors, bro does not know what braking is. As a result, both rider and pillion took a rough fall. Both of them were not wearing riding gear and rolled a couple times. Yikes. Online chatter For some reason, Facebook users seem to have a knack with involving women despite how they may have zero influence on the situation. As seen with the female pillion rider. No comment on that… Others criticised the rider for not paying attention, which put not only his life at risk but also his passenger’s. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Straight out of an action movie, this one. Look at how fast he picked himself up after falling. If I slip and fall, my legs are paralysed for at least 5 minutes. What happened? A man on a motorbike was being chased by traffic police along Geylang road. He slid off his bike across the road and hit a traffic light, before picking himself up to continue evading the authorities on foot. An officer got off his bike to pursue the man, and was successful in apprehending him. It is unclear what were the circumstances that led to the chase. The suspect was detained in Lorong 24 Geylang for possession of an offensive weapon and traffic-related offences. He was also taken to hospital, and further police investigations are ongoing. According to the original Facebook post, an eyewitness told Chinese newspaper Shin Min Daily News that he saw the motorcyclist travelling at high speed and the police giving chase. The motorcyclist then abandoned his vehicle, ran away and tried to hide, but was unable to evade arrest, the witness added. Interestingly enough, there was also a second officer involved in the pursuit, except once the chase went on foot, he just stayed on his bike and seemed to wait for his partner to nab the biker. Online chatter People praised the police for arresting the offending biker. As they should. I can’t imagine running while in that gear, especially in SG’s weather. Many people also made fun of the biker for sliding and running, as well as asking where he would hide considering Singapore's tiny size. Naturally, many people are going to make Grand Theft Auto jokes too. There were so many ISTG. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Join us today!

TL;DR – A Toyota Vios gets smashed by a motorbike at an uncontrolled junction while attempting to turn right when there was another vehicle impeding its view. Back in your army days, if you had a platoon mate like this Vios driver, you probably would have ‘blanket party’ him for being a ‘sabo-king’. Watch the 42-second video to understand why. What happened? According to the caption of the video, this incident occurred in Clementi Ave 2, at 5pm+ yesterday. A motorcyclist overtakes cam car and accelerates ahead only to go head-to-head with a Toyota Vios attempting to make a right turn at the junction. Use your brain If there’s another vehicle obstructing your view, inch forward to see if there’s any oncoming traffic like normal people maybe? Who in the world ‘cheongs’ without looking? Damages look bad Damages to the motorbike aside, the Vios looks like it got banged up pretty badly too. Good luck with the insurance claims. Online Chatter Whoever thinks the motorcyclist is at fault, is blind. Hmm. Interesting. Yeah! Yes, ALOT is happening in this video, and the title speaks for itself. NGL, I am actually surprised I managed to summarise the entire video within the title itself. Watch it here: What Happened? After entering the AYE, a Honda HRV driver decided to perform something bizarre - he changed lane into a red Lexus ES not once but TWICE, despite having empty pockets of space to switch lanes into. During the second bump, the Lexus ES was forced into lane 2 of the AYE, causing it to cut off a Shopee Xpress van. As a result, the Shopee Xpress van had to brake hard to avoid rear-ending the Lexus ES. However, a motorcyclist riding behind the van could not react in time and smashed into the van, resulting in the motorcyclist flipping over. Idk about you, but the Honda HRV driver ought to be handed some heavy consequences for his actions. It is as clear as daylight that the Honda HRV driver did not bother checking his blindspot before changing lanes at the very last minute, which caused the accidents. Netizens' Comments Likely, the Honda HRV didn't even know about the presence of the red Lexus because he didn't bother turning his head to check his blindspot. I might be wrong, but it seems like the Honda HRV performed a hit and run after side swiping the red Lexus ES twice.... Wishing the rider a speedy recovery!! ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Join us today!

TLDR; A Mercedes Driver was caught flouting traffic rules and nearly causing an accident with a motorcyclist. This incident occurred at a discretionary turn junction. These junctions are notoriously known for having an increased likelihood of accidents. Below is an incident that proves this point. Watch the video below: 295895533_121486660611877_2490993593266327550_n.mp4 A Mercedes driver was caught on camera failing to give way to a motorcyclist at a discretionary right turn. The motorcyclist only managed to narrowly avoid a collision by braking at the last minute. The motorcyclist appeared ticked off by this and rightfully so. Even I would have felt the same way if I were in his position. Giving thanks to a higher power The motorcyclist posted this recount of the incident on SgRoadVigilante and thanked god that he managed to survive the incident without any lasting damage. Looks like a GLA... right? Judging from the footage, the vehicle looks like a Mercedes GLA, doesn't it? Though the footage is blurry, they do seem similar. \ Unfortunately, the video footage is too blur to make out the license plate of the GLA. Discretionary Right Turns in Singapore This doesn’t seem to be the only time that discretionary turns have caused trouble on the road in Singapore. They do seem to be a common cause of accidents. According to Today Online, there has been an average of around 430 accidents at traffic junctions with discretionary turns for the past five years, which is a whopping amount and is a statistic to take note of. Motorcyclists were also involved in around 40% of those incidents, making them extremely vulnerable to accidents involving discretionary turns. There has even been a plan by LTA (Land Transport Authority) to remove discretionary right turns at most traffic junctions by 2023, meaning that motorists would only be able to turn when there is a green arrow. This makes the decision to turn more straightforward and clear-cut, and hopefully would be able to reduce any further accidents. Netizen Comments Netizens express their take on this near collision incident, mostly criticizing the Mercedes driver, with one even accusing him/her of being a 'kopi license driver', which implies that their license was not obtained legitimately. Driving this recklessly at a right turn junction is just selfish and irresponsible behaviour. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Motorcyclist skids and falls while attacking a bend on a wet road
j2nicecarmart posted a blog entry in MyAutoBlog
TLDR; Motorcyclist rides recklessly along a stretch of wet road on a rainy day and ends up skidding at a bend and falls down... hard. Watch the video for yourself below 295700502_1120202368852630_2227411090361525905_n.mp4 A motorcyclist has been caught on camera riding like he’s in a MotoGP race, swerving along a bend on a rainy day like he’s a professional racer. Unfortunately, that did not work out too well for him when he skidded along the bend and managed to fall down on his @$$. Maybe he has always dreamt of being a racer. For professional racers to make turns, their tyres do need to have a proper grip so that they don’t end up slipping and falling like the person above. Especially on a rainy day where the surface is wet, it would definitely be more important to drive with caution and at a slower speed Hope he managed to learn his lesson by now The open road is definitely not a place to practice your MotoGP racing skills. If there were vehicles nearby, this situation would definitely have been a lot worse. Netizen Comments Netizens express their take on the situation above, some hoping for the motorcyclist’s safety, and others criticizing him for his mistake. Road safety is not a joke if you want to keep your body parts intact. All in all, we hope the motorcyclist is safe and didn't manage to sustain any long lasting injuries. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. It appears to be just another normal day in Geylang after footage was uploaded of a near collision between a pedestrian and a speeding motorcycle Just watch the video for yourself below 295004115_2831560283806164_8534743410773785914_n.mp4 The motorcyclist seems to be going down a relatively fast pace on the road in Geylang, narrowly avoiding colliding into the pedestrians that are trying to jaywalk across the road. He had then honked and called out in frustration to avoid a narrow collision before the pedestrians had skittered back to safety. The motorcyclist had seemed extremely angry over the situation, which might make others contend that he may be a bit (大惊小怪), also known as to make a big fuss over nothing, given the fact that jaywalking is extremely commonplace in Geylang. To not have anticipated this kind of behavior could be on him, to be fair. Netizen Comments Netizens chime in as well with their own take on the situation at hand, criticizing both the motorcyclist as well as the pedestrians at hand, though they seem to contend that jaywalking behavior in Geylang is almost commonplace. Netizens criticized both parties, firstly the motorcyclist for driving at a fast pace and reacting badly, as well as the pedestrians for jaywalking. It’s almost like jaywalking at Geylang isn’t a unique sight anymore. Personally, if I were driving along the streets of Geylang, would probably need to be mindful of my surroundings, lest I cause some actual fatalities. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. In the early hours yesterday morning, right when many of us would have been waking up and getting ready to go to work, those on the Kranji Expressway were thrown into a panic when this accident occurred: How did it happen? The scenario went like this: the motorcyclist was just going straight ahead. At the far left, some other cars were shifting lanes, moving to the right: Disaster strikes. Unfortunately, the Kia Niro (immediate closest) to the motorcyclist made a rash and foolish decision--- to swerve abruptly. This gave the motorcyclist about approximately a second to react, which wasn't enough, of course. Cue the imminent collision. It didn't stop there, as the force of the sideswipe was strong enough to propel the motorcyclist into the flank of another car ahead; its second collision. The tumble onto the hard tar road was inevitable: Oh my god! Our hearts dropped when seeing this. Thankfully, help arrives. Upon seeing the accident that had just occurred, Good Samaritans also on the road slowed down, or stopped their vehicles to offer assistance. The motorcyclists had slowed down to help a brother in need. The one closest to the fallen rider was also seen trying to lift the heavy motorcycle off of him. Divided opinions. There was an outpour of differing opinions online. Some commentators deduced that the cars were ultimately at fault. Some shared the same sentiment, but with a slightly different take: But it was agreed that the sudden lane change far left had caused the crashes. Yes, we think so too. There were also some less-than-helpful comments, bordering on nasty: Including this Come on man. Was not the biker's fault that he got into an accident. Not cool. Hasty driving has consequences. It is hard to pinpoint and assign fault exactly, but we can say that the abrupt lane change definitely was the direct cause of the motorcyclist collision happening. It is depressing and unfortunate to see the spate of motorcycle accidents as of late, especially the recent Simei lorry incident that sadly claimed the life of another motorcyclist (Rest in peace). We urge all our readers to always stay vigilant and safe on the roads, and we hope this motorcyclist gets better soon. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. An incident at Mandai road resulted from a cyclist failing to keep to his prescribed lane, and then managing to rear-end a taxi and almost causing a chain of events that could have ended badly for the cyclist. Watch the video for yourself below 295074781_496748258921669_9009094495260158541_n.mp4 The cam car behind him had to jam brake at the very last minute, which resulted in the cement truck having to stop in time to avoid colliding into the camcar. The significant inconvenience that this cyclist caused simply because he was too irresponsible to abide by road regulations is ridiculous. If i were held up by this buffoon i’ll certainly be very angry. It does seem like he doesn’t value his own life as well, given that not only did this inconvenience other road users, but definitely put himself in a lot of danger as well. Netizen Comments Netizens chime in with their own take of the situation as well, Personally, if I were held up by this cyclist, I’ll probably be royally pissed as well. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. A commercial van has been spotted entering the PIE (towards Changi) from Jalan Bahar and abruptly changing lanes from lane 2 to lane 1. In doing so, it caused a relatively serious accident. Watch the video for yourself below. The accident The van's sudden and abrupt lane change resulted in a motorcyclist toppling over after not having sufficient time to react. The van did not even bother stopping and continued to speed right up ahead, leaving the damage behind. The car behind the motorcyclist, a Honda Vezel was forced to jam his brakes in order to avoid crashing into the motorcyclist. It almost seems like the van driver wasn't even remotely remorseful about the damage that he caused considering he sped off without a second thought of the motorcyclist. Or maybe the driver did not realise it had caused the accident? But wait, there's more! According to road regulations, commercial vehicles are forbidden from driving on lane 1 of an expressway. This offence is considered as road hogging and is punishable with a maximum fine of $1000 as well as 3-months jail for first-time offenders. Not to mention, this van driver also had another offence = failing to signal when lane changing. This itself is punishable by a $70 fine for light vehicles as well as a $100 fine for heavy ones according to the Traffic Police. Netizen Comments Netizens have also gathered to criticize the van driver as hell, blaming him for endangering others and hoping to file a complaint against him as well as calling for harsher penalties. I sure hope the motorcyclist suffered no permanent injuries and is able to receive justice for this accident. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Rider smashes into Camcar in the midst of checking his blindspot
j2nicecarmart posted a blog entry in MyAutoBlog
A motorcyclist was caught in a collision with the back of the camcar while in the middle of checking his blindspot. Watch the video for yourself below 289442118_5402399956483655_5591737215663982744_n.mp4 It is not known as to what injuries the cyclist has sustained, but let’s hope that he manages to recuperate fast from this incident. This video was sourced from Tiktok, and has surfaced on the Facebook page, ROADS.sg. It does not seem like any traffic laws were broken in the process of this incident and seems to just be an unfortunate accident incurred by the motorcyclist. Motorcyclists are definitely more prone to accidents on the road than closed vehicles like cars. Being less visible to other drivers, pedestrians as well as less stable than four-wheeled vehicles, it places them at an increased vulnerability to accidents. They are also required to be much more aware and alert regarding their surroundings and are more vulnerable to weather hazards and road conditions. Netizen Comments Netizens attempt to give their take on this unfortunate incident, both attributing blame and showing their concern Let this be a lesson to treat road safety with the utmost importance and be wary of our surroundings on the highways. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Want to see the shocking moment when a Honda Civic driver abruptly swerves between lanes on the causeway resulting in an accident? Watch the video below! This driver has managed to do it all. After realizing he was going into the wrong lane, this 'gundu' swerved abruptly into a bus after forgetting to check his blind spot. One really wonders how he managed to get his license. The bus was pushed off course in which the Civic driver then managed to hit both the road divider AND almost crash into a motorcyclist after abruptly swerving back into his original lane again. It almost takes a certain type of talent to mess up this badly After being hit by the debris of his mistake, the motorcyclist seems to start scolding the driver of the Honda Civic, as he probably should. Netizens chime in with their own take of the incident, criticizing and mocking the driver as well as expressing concern for the motorcyclist’s safety. What is your take on this incident? Yesterday morning on the busy Seletar Expressway, a lone motorcyclist (and those around him) got the biggest shock of his life when he drove over a wooden block on the road. Due to the impact with the object, he then lost control of his bike, swerving like 'siao' until he was tossed onto the floor, with a hard landing. Ouch! As shown in the video, readers can see the obstacle was not that visible from far away. The video can be seen here The poor motorcyclist must have not seen it too, or he would have avoided it from the start. Aiyo, look at how the motorcycle and the rider were thrown onto the hard and painful road! It was shared that the lorry behind him then slowed down, stopping to render assistance to the fallen rider. Heng! There are still some good Samaritans in the world. Online reactions to the unfortunate incident were mixed, ranging from nasty: To chiding: As well as some kinder comments that expressed concern towards the motorcyclist: This well-meaning commentator managed to sneak a pun in: Steady la. Us Sinkie drivers may be a hot-tempered bunch, but we can still show empathy where it is due. We hope the motorcyclist is well and heals quickly from his injuries. Netizens divided over cause of blame for motorcyclist’s accident
j2nicecarmart posted a blog entry in MyAutoBlog
A Mazda driver tries for a lane change that did not end well. The incoming motorcyclist skidded off course and fell down at the side of the road. Onlookers came on to assist the motorcyclist but the Mazda driver had driven off without a second word. The news was that the rider had suffered minor injuries and abrasions on his leg. Watch the video for yourself below 286923215_1338749943301494_2605439203475040899_n.mp4 Netizens were divided over the main culprit for the cause of the rider’s accident. Some placed the fault on both parties Whilst others placed the blame entirely on the motorcyclist And others entirely on the Mazda driver However, it seems like the overarching opinion was for the innocence of the Mazda Driver, given that he did in fact utilize the turn signal, and managed to lane change at a decent slow speed. What do you think? Whose side would you be on in this situation? Either way, let’s wish for the well-being and safety of the cyclist who got injured. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. There's a Hokkien saying that goes like this: "kiang jiu ho, mai gei kiang", which simply means "Smart can already, don't try to be too smart". And NGL, this statement is very true! Watch what happens when two motorcyclists attempt their "smart" move to avoid congestion: What Happened? As usual, the Kallang–Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE) was jammed up during the morning peak hour. Among the many motorists caught in the jam were two particular motorcyclists who decided that they no longer had the patience to be caught up in a jam. One motorcyclist was riding along the shoulder of the KPE. Meanwhile, the other motorcyclist cut his way through from lane 1 to the shoulder of the KPE. And yes, you guessed it right - They ended up colliding with each other on the expressway shoulder when the latter was switching lanes to the shoulder of the KPE. Netizens' Comments During traffic jam means 'bo cheng hu' mah. Woah, this netizen here got no chill at all. It is basic knowledge not to rush across the road and to look left and right before attempting to cross. However, he learned his lesson the hard way for one impatient kick-scooter rider. Watch it here: What Happened? An impatient kick-scooter rider blindly rode across the road at the entrance/exit point of Waterway Point carpark. He knocks into a motorcyclist's tail-box and falls hard on the ground. He quickly apologised to the motorcyclist and quickly got back up to his feet. Needless to say, the motorcyclist was baffled at how the kick-scooter rider managed to collide with him despite being in a stationary position. Moments later, the kick-scooter rider scoots across the road just as a white Toyota Camry exited the carpark, almost causing a near-miss collision with the Camry. And when the kick-scooter rider was riding away, the motorcyclist made the most iconic hand gesture ever: What do you think of the kick-scooter rider's actions? Is it caused by a lack of situational awareness, unluckiness or simply bo-chap? Netizens' Comments The kick-scooter rider really very heng! Joker leh you! With the widespread use of the dash cam, you will certainly come across negatively-associated incidents on social media platforms now more than ever. Compared to negatively-associated incidents, commendable acts often go unreported and are less likely to surface online. Well, not for this commendable act: What Happened? As usual, there was heavy traffic along Woodlands Avenue 12 towards Gambas since it was the peak hour. Just then, a motorcyclist gradually filtered from lane 1 to lane 2 before lane-splitting between lanes 2 and 3. He continues riding for a distance while lane splitting between lanes 2 and 3 with his left signal indicator still on. Out of the blue, the motorcyclist started veering left and ploughed into the side of a Toyota Wish before losing his balance and falling on the road. At this point, the Toyota driver realised what had happened and performed a selfless act by swerving his car to the left to avoid running over the collapsed motorcyclist. Subsequently, the Toyota driver fully mounts the kerb before crashing head-first into a tree. The collapsed motorcyclist would have had his head run over if not for the Toyota driver's swift reflexes. Kudos to the Toyota driver for his quick thinking and excellent reflexes! Right now, I am hoping for the best for both parties 🙏 Netizens' Comments Kudos to the Toyota driver!👏 Well, that could be a possible explanation to the motorcyclist's bizarre act! ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. A cam car driver experiences a driver's worst nightmare and learns the importance of investing in a good dashcam the hard way. Just yesterday (March 24), the cam car driver was travelling along the KPE. A motorcyclist suddenly dashes past on his right in an attempt to lane split. Unlike most riders who lane split without any problems, this attempt ends in the rider breaking off the cam car's right-side mirror. Pieces of the mirror flew like confetti as the rider sped up and rode away, staying dangerously close to the vehicles in front. Driver unable to identify rider Due to the shoddy quality dashcam footage, the driver could not identify the motorcyclist. While most drivers can attest to having a good dashcam, some have felt that splurging on such a device is unnecessary. However, there are benefits to having a dashcam that produces top-notch footage. With better-quality footage, drivers can identify the parties involved in the case of an accident. It helps ease the insurance claiming process and protects the driver from fraud. Although picking a good dashcam can be an arduous process, there are several criteria that drivers should look out for when buying a dashcam. If you're in the market for a better dashcam, here is a list of the top dashcams used by drivers in Singapore. Netizens' reactions Most netizens chastised the rider for his amateur lane-splitting skills and sympathised with the unlucky cam driver, while some pointed out the less-than-optimal quality of the footage. He probably watched a video of someone doing it once on YouTube and thought "I can do it too!". How to revoke when you can't even see the plate? Yes, exactly, why? Hopefully after seeing this article, the cam driver will go and buy himself a better dashcam! ======== Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. After this incident, the rider should re-enroll himself for a few more courses at the driving school. A video of a motorbike rider crashing face-first into a turning lorry has gotten the attention of netizens online. Posted on Facebook yesterday (17 March), the lorry driver paired the video with a simple caption: 'Never beat the traffic lights, especially if you are riding a bike, the impact will be greater.' The short clip features the cam driver riding down a bend before arriving at a traffic junction. Intending to make a right turn, the driver properly aligned himself with the correct lane. Upon noticing the green turning arrow, the cam driver made his turn. At this moment, the motorcyclist enters the scene as he confidently travels straight through the junction. Realising that the rider had beat the red light, the driver immediately stepped on his brakes and honked loudly. Instead of swerving like most riders do, the motorcyclist slams head-first into the large vehicle, creating a large splintered crack on the windscreen. Now that will definitely leave a nasty mark! Netizens' reactions Most netizens quickly sided with the cam driver, agreeing that the rider should not have recklessly beaten the red light. Yeah, I wonder what was going through his mind. Agreed! If you intend to disobey traffic rules, you should be prepared to face (literally) any and all consequences. Can you imagine if the driver didn't have a good camera installed? The horror of dealing with insurance claims without solid video evidence is not something that I would want to go through. In all seriousness, I am genuinely confused as to why the rider didn't swerve his bike. Did he already give up the moment he saw the lorry? Or does he not know how to do it? Isn't swerving from danger one of the first few things you learn as a motorcycle rider? ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. It can be pretty tempting to take shortcuts in an empty carpark to get to that available parking lot or to exit the carpark. After all, who wants to 'waste' time and petrol by making one big round around the carpark to exit the carpark, right? Unfortunately, this motorcyclist took a shortcut down the carpark and learned his lesson the unpleasant way: What Happened? A motorcyclist decided to take a shortcut down the multi-storey carpark (MSCP) by going against the traffic flow and driving down the MSCP slope. Just then, a Honda Civic drove up the slope, and both vehicles almost got involved in a head-on collision with each other. Both vehicles came to an immediate halt on the slope. And needless to say, the Honda Civic did not budge one bit. As a result, the motorcyclist was forced to 'reverse' from the slope. He and his pillion rider subsequently dismounted to manually 'reverse' the motorcycle. What was going through his head? The shortcut performed was a mindless, convenient solution for the motorcyclist to save time and petrol. Little did he know, by doing so jeopardises his life as well as his pillion rider's life. Imagine if both vehicles were unable to brake in time; the outcome for the motorcyclist would be exceptionally undesirable for him. He would undoubtedly regret performing such an act to save that mere few seconds of his time. Hopefully, the motorcyclist learns his lesson from this near miss incident. Netizens' Comments You know what's worst? I encountered a lorry taking a shortcut before🙃 Only those who are guilty of performing such shortcuts will post this type of comment🤡 A wise man once said....^ ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. This motorcyclist shows us why it’s important to always keep your eyes on the road! In this video, a seemingly distracted motorcyclist follows closely behind a white Renault Fluence as the pair navigates through roads filled with busy roadworks. Throughout the entire video, the motorcyclist could be seen tilting his head up and down multiple times. Upon approaching an underground tunnel entrance, the white PHV slows down to join the long queue of vehicles waiting to enter. However, the distracted rider fails to anticipate this sudden change and ends up rear-ending the Renault. The impact force forces the motorcycle to flip forward, throwing the rider down onto the road face-first. With his feet against the car, the rider manages to lift his motorcycle off of himself. He walks to the side of the road and removes his helmet, revealing broken pieces inside. Concerned, the driver of the white Renault and the cam car alight from their cars to check on the rider’s condition. Netizens’ reactions While we may never know for sure if the rider was looking at his phone, the number of times he kept looking down was suspicious. He can represent SG at the next Olympic games. #motorcyclistforparis2024 Indeed! Kudos to both drivers for immediately checking on the motorcyclist! Hope he is alright! ======== Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Join us today!

With the Chinese New Year festivities happening last week, most Singaporeans are sure to be extra cautious during this busy period. Whether it's chauffeuring their loved ones around or going about on their day-to-day tasks, the last thing a driver wants is to be involved in an accident during CNY. Luckily for this Honda Civic Type R driver, the unthinkable almost happened if not for his powerful brakes and short reaction time! The video starts with the cam car slowing down and stopping at a busy junction, just as the traffic lights turn red. On his right, a blue Honda Civic Type R from the opposite direction makes its right turn across the junction. As the vehicle enters the yellow box, a motorcyclist suddenly speeds across the junction as he beats the red light. Luckily, the Type R driver reacts quickly in time, slamming on his brakes and coming to a complete stop. The rider was shocked by the car's presence and swerved slightly to avoid being hit in a head-on collision. If it wasn't for the driver's quick thinking (and his brakes), this rider would not have been able to ride away with his leg sticking out like that. Big brake kit – is it purely for aesthetics? As one of the most popular car modifications, a big brake kit is advertised to drivers as necessary for greater stopping power and better overall handling of their vehicles. Consisting of larger-than-stock brake rotors, upgraded brake pads and rotors, stainless-steel brake lines, and fittings, the kit allows drivers to upgrade their car’s stock brake system for one single price. Even in wet conditions, drivers can enjoy better stopping power and shorter distances. It is also aesthetically more pleasing to look at and is safer to use on track. However, the downside is that installing one can be pretty expensive. Drivers have to upgrade their tyres to a larger size to fit the enormous discs of the kit, which can cost a few thousand dollars. Buuuuut, you can’t put a price on safety right? Netizens’ reactions Maybe AP Racing should contact our Honda Civic driver for a sponsorship? ========= Receive a $10 PayNow for every submission we publish on Facebook! There are many types of fraud involved in motor insurance. The more prominent type is insurance touting, which you can read more about here: However, there are less common frauds such as this: ezgif.com-gif-maker (2).mp4 Watch the entire video here: https://www.facebook.com/BehChiaLor/videos/4537913869663747/ What Happened? The accident occurred along Nicole Drive towards Changi Coastal Road. The dashcam footage shows the cam car, a black SUV and a motorcyclist travelling together in the same direction. When they were approaching an intersection, a random Subaru Forester appeared out of nowhere - stuck in the middle of the road after performing an illegal u-turn. Despite braking for a good 5 seconds, the motorcyclist was unable to stop in time and collided with the side of the Subaru Forester's rear section. As a result, the motorcyclist lost his balance and fell to the ground, along with his motorcycle. Something Fishy Is Going On Subsequently, the passenger of the Forester came out of the SUV to "check" on the damages. After glancing at the damages, he proceeded to open the driver's side door and took over as the driver, while the initial driver of the Forester went to the back seat. The video ends when the Subaru Forester and motorcyclist stop further down the road at the roadside. @Cam car After watching the video carefully, here's what grinds my gears: It is the part where the cam car constantly flashes his high beam at the Subaru Forester as he approaches it. FYI, flashing your high beams in that manner would not prevent an accident - Look what happened to the motorcyclist. Netizens' Comments Maybe because that intersection wasn't made for u-turns to be performed there? Highly likely. But if you think about it, if the passenger was sober and possessed a valid license, why would he endanger his own life by sitting in the car? @To those of you wondering why the motorcyclist "did not brake". ======== Receive a $10 PayNow for every submission we publish on Facebook! A driver captures the moment when a motorcyclist almost met his end – all because of a tinted visor (and a dash of overconfidence). The cam car driver was driving behind a large prime mover and the motorcyclist along Pioneer Crescent in the video. The area is known to house several facilities and factories, some of which supply building materials and metals. The large truck signals right as it enters a bend before its designated turn. Here is a closer look: Upon noticing the signal, the motorcyclist ‘chiongs’ ahead, thinking that he could pass by the large vehicle. However, the rider receives a scary surprise when the prime mover suddenly turns. Here is a closer look: With his path blocked, the motorcyclist had no choice but to brake and stop his bike from crashing into the giant truck. He gently guides his bike to the side and performs what I call the ‘U-turn of shame”, all while raising his hand to apologise for the sudden scare.
