What do you guys see of this pic? Few months back, I have inform HDB and they came for inspection. Then it was half the size only. The officer said its not very wet and he didn't found any sign of water seepage on the above unit. Asked me to sand paper them off and repaint. But my question was what if I spent $$ re plaster and repaint it, but the seepage problem still exist? Wasting my $$ only if the source of it is not solve. He didn't answer me but keep saying he didn't find any problem with the unit above. Now, the water marks is getting bigger, covered almost the entire bathroom ceiling and paint started to peel off. Worst, it has seeps into my bedroom! I touched it, its a bit damp.... what should I do?

Hi all, last year my new car was coated (i paid over $1k for it) by one of the more reputable coating companies. Car was only 2 days old when it was coated. 6 months later, there were scratches on the boot surface, and water marks on boot, roof and bonnet. The applied hydrophobic effects on the windscreen is also gone. I sent the car back to touch up. Another 8 months later, I had to respray certain panels because I cannot take the scratches. Yup, some ppl scratched my car. But besides that, I have many lines near the door handle, and lines on the bonnet and boot. I've never put anything on them. The guy who repainted my car told me the water marks on my car very bad. I told him cos I park outdoor daily, thats why I know. I did coating to prevent, also cannot. I have to send it back to be re-coated. So after 1 year 2 months of ownership, I don't think I get what I paid for. Maybe coating is not suitable for people who park outdoors. Am I the only one who feels that coating was over-rated? Or it has limited capabilities when it comes to handling the harsh weather, especially for people who park outdoors. What could be a better solution? (besides clean the car everyday! haha)

Hey guys, I just got my OL about 2 weeks back, and I was trying to clean off this stubborn water stain on my exterior car plastic trim, so i just used a microfiber cloth to clean it. To my surprise, a scratch appeared!! I'm not sure if it's because I wipe a little too hard or what, but now I (still) have the water stain and this scratch beside it. I have tried using toothpaste (searched online solutions), magic sponge (worked for my back window trims water spots) and vinegar and just simple water wiping, but nothing works.. Anyone has any experiences on this, or any advice on how I can remove it please? It's quite obvious.. Thank you!

Hi, looking for a service (some top coat?) on car paint works to try to prevent Scratches, Discoloration of Paint from hot sun on a daily basis (exposed carpark). I have been looking at those 2nd hand cars thats being groomed by car dealers but from far, looks shiny n bling but upon close inspection, can see lots of swirl marks on the material. I think the basic coat of the car paint has already been damaged because of this polishing or whatever u called. So i'm looking for a service that dont create this problem. In the long run, hope that the extra $ fork out on the protection of paint = less time spend taking care of the car n if need to sell off later, hopefully can command higher price because of extra care taken to protect the paint Any recommendation? Thank you

I've been detailing my ride for years but have yet to see any burnt mark until recently, after sending it for grooming. In fact I wouldn't know how a burnt mark will look like if I didnt see one. Anyone experience burnt marks on your ride after grooming? http://www.meguiarsonline.com/forums/showt...re-anyone/page2 From far it may look like a scratch mark especially if the bare metal/plastic is revealed. Question: Can hand polish create burnt marks? Cheers

By Chong Shin Yen HE SLAPPED her so hard that three hours later the redness on her face had not subsided and three distinct finger marks could be seen. Before he hit her, cabby Ang Kim Chui, 59, had shouted at her: "Don't think (that) because you are a woman, I wouldn't hit you." Madam Ng Sie Hwee, 33, a businesswoman, was three months' pregnant at that time. She suffered a miscarriage three days after the road rage incident. Madam Ng told The New Paper after the sentencing: "The doctor told me the first trimester can be pretty unstable and (the miscarriage) might not have been caused by that incident. "But the psychological pressure I felt then might have contributed to it." Ang was sentenced to six weeks' jail after a trial. He is appealing against his sentence. The court heard that Madam Ng had driven her Volvo out of a Toa Payoh Central carpark on April 9, 2008 at about 4.20pm. She was about to turn into the main road when Ang's taxi suddenly swerved into her lane from the right. Meanwhile, the traffic lights farther up the main road had turned red and the vehicles in front of Ang's taxi had stopped. He ended in an awkward spot, with his taxi straddling diagonally across two lanes. Scared of cabby Ang then looked towards Madam Ng and pointed his middle finger at her. Madam Ng could not hear what Ang was saying but she could see that he was talking and gesturing at her, as if scolding her. Madam Ng's mother and her 18-month-old son, who were also in the car, were seated in the rear. When the traffic lights turned green and Ang was able to move his taxi, he deliberately drove very slowly, forcing Madam Ng, who was behind him, to also drive at a slow speed. He then suddenly stopped his taxi, alighted and went up to Madam Ng's car. As he 'looked rather antagonistic', Madam Ng quickly locked the car doors. Ang stood beside her door and accused her of colliding into his taxi. He wanted her to alight. Madam Ng was afraid to do so. But Ang was persistent and after a while, she got out. When Madam Ng examined both cars but found no damage. She was sure that she had not collided into the taxi but Ang insisted that she did. He kept asking her what she was going to do about it. Both could not reach a consensus and Madam Ng asked Ang to leave. That was when he shouted at her and slapped her on the right side of her face. Upset and scared, Madam Ng began to cry. She felt pain on her face and jaw line. She said she would call the police and told Ang not to leave. But Ang sneered at her and said that he was not afraid. He added that no one would believe her account before heading towards his taxi. Seeing that Ang was about to leave, Madam Ng's mother, Madam Leow Boon Tee, 61, ran towards him. She shouted at him and pulled at his sleeve to stop him from leaving. Madam Leow was carrying her grandson in her arms. Ang threatened the elderly woman, saying that he had 'something in his car' that he could hit her with. On hearing that, Madam Ng quickly pulled her mother away. Meanwhile, a crowd had gathered and some passers-by also told Ang not to leave the scene. >> ASIAONE / MOTORING / DRIVERS / OTHERS / STORY Doctor's testimony Ang stood by the road while Madam Ng called the police. But he left before they arrived. Madam Ng went to Mount Alvernia Hospital for a check-up at about 7.40pm that day. She was unable to go earlier as she had to pick her daughter up from school, go to the police station to make a report and send her children and mother home. Dr Ng Kwee Choon, who examined Madam Ng that night, testified that the shape of the red patch on Madam Ng's face appeared as if she had been hit by three fingers. Dr Ng added that the force used on Madam Ng must have been 'quite substantial' as they were still evident three hours after the assault. The court heard that before the incident, Ang had dropped off a passenger and was on his way to hand the taxi over to the driver of the next shift at 5pm in Bukit Panjang. In his defence, Angsaid it was Madam Ng who had dashed towards him and pretended to fall on him, claiming that he had hit her. He also said that the injuries on her face were self-inflicted. Ang left his taxi company four months after the incident. He now works as a driver for a paint company. In his mitigation, Ang's lawyer, Mr Raymond Tan, said that Ang had a clean record in his 30 years as a cabby. Ang's two daughters are working abroad and only his 27-year-old son is working here. In sentencing him, District Judge Wong Choon Ning noted that Ang was the sole aggressor throughout the incident. She added that even if there had been a collision, Ang should not have taken the law into his own hands. Said the judge: "(Ang's) wanton act of slapping (Madam Ng) hard on her face was deplorable and wholly disproportionate..." For voluntarily causing hurt, Ang could have been jailed two years and fined $5,000.

Hey bros, About 2 weeks ago, I mounted my GPS suction cup to my car windscreen (with 3M solar film). Recently, the suction cup dropped off and I noticed there's 2 fine ring marks left on the windscreen. I tried to clean it with water and cloth but it seems to be embedded on the solar film - I suspect the solar film has shrink and created the ring marks. Does anyone has any suggestions on how I can remove the fine ring marks? Will 3M honor the warranty since it's lifetime warranty (and it did not specifically state that no mounting of suction cup except 1 week after installation).

My dad collected his sapphire blue latio today. I was there. When it was out in the sun, immediately i noticed fine scratches. Some were swirl marks. There was one straight series of fine scratches on the bonnet area. Immediately i highlighted to the SE and she said that dark cars are like that. I told her it's unacceptable. Lagi best. I got home, parked my own car next to my dads and saw bird sh#t on it. Being the good boy on dad's new car, i took out tissue and my spray bottle and tried to wipe it off. It left a blur patch of scratches and lo and behold, i scratched off the paint leaving a white line! Tissue and water can stratch the paint off meh? Not just the white line, the whole area around it is BLUR! Anyone kena this before? Any ideas why it happened? I asked the SE if someone forgot the clear coat or something. Gonna bring the car back to Tan Chong and ask for the manager. I'm pissed! Even my lok kok Kia Rio paintwork isnt that bad.. and i tot it sucked already!!!

Need some advice here. A friend just got his new honda civic 1.8 (black). When he invited me to take a look at his new ride, i saw that there were many swirl marks on the car body (look under the afternoon sun, though a bit glare). Wonder why is that so? It is a brand new car (only 2nd day). He has not wash his car yet upon receiving it. Another colleague of mine too have the same symptoms when i look at his. Any bros here driving a new black civic have such problem? NOTE: Must look under bright lights. What action can he take? Ask the agent to remove swirl mark? Ask for a new replacement? What and who causes those marks? IT is only a 2 days car and he didn't send to any grooming or car wash yet.

Hi, has anyone tried wet sanding to remove water etch mark????
-
My friend passed me his car to use while he is currently overseas. I sent it to a "hand wash" car wash today after the downpout, and discovered streaks on the paintwork. Some parts of the car are whiter than other parts. I suspect it is due to the harsh and strong shampoo which has eaten into the paint. How can I remove those streak marks? Tried polishing but the marks are still there.
