anyone changed their HDB main door before or recently ? got any good and cheap recommendation ? normal door can already .... HDB told me no need fire-door for my unit. i think my main door is the original door from about 30+ years ago ... !! what about wrought iron gate ? ST classads got ads so cheap ... but what's the trade-off ?

About a week before that, Suganthi Jayaraman, 33, used a metal pestle to hit Ms Naw Mu De Paw, 24, on her head for not frying vadais - a deep-fried snack - fast enough. The Myanmar helper bled heavily from the two spots she was hit, but was forced to continue frying, and to take the vadais to a provision shop which Suganthi and her husband were then running. Suganthi pleaded guilty to three of seven charges. The offences took place at her flat in Woodlands Drive 16. The court heard that during the time the helper was abused - from July 9 to Oct 2, 2013 - she lived in constant fear of being beaten again. She was often afraid to tell anyone about an incident and did not even dare to inspect her wounds as Suganthi would scold her for it, said Deputy Public Prosecutor Sarah Chua. Suganthi would also threaten the victim that she would get into trouble if she ran away or called the police. The victim eventually left the flat on Oct 3 and called the police. On the morning of Sept 30, Ms Naw woke up late because she had been working till 4am the night before. She was supposed to be up by 6.30am to send her employer's daughter to school. Suganthi confronted her and scolded her harshly after finding the girl still at home. Then she punched her in the face. Lawyer Louis Joseph said his client, who had been crying in the dock, deserved some discount for her guilty plea. "Even though her behaviour was unforgivable, she stands before you remorseful and regretful for what she had done," he told District Judge Christopher Goh, who will sentence her on June 5. Suganthi could be jailed for up to 10-and-a-half years and fined for causing hurt with a heated substance. my mother left the gas on and went out .... neighbours saw black smoke from the kitchen window and called police. police came with scdf and cut my gate and kicked my main door in .... now gotta replace both asap. luckily only a pot was damaged in the whole fiasco. for the time being buy bigger lock to shackle the uncut part of the gate.... anyone can advise ?

anyone knows? This CMI korean battery fails in 1/2 a year and I kind of forgot where i change it due to bz schedule and also lost the receipt.... Dunno if bring it back to main distributor will help or not.... Can anyone provide more details on the main distributor? Thanks!

Manpower costs the main reason for increase in food price? Really ?. http://www.soshiok.com/multimedia/photos/1999 I would think it's the increase in rent. Why no labour cost ? Due to inflation, everyone deserved a higher salary because of higher cost of living. So it natural to expect labour cost to increase in proportion of inflation. However, why does malls/food stall has their rent increase more than inflation by so much over the years... Actually, every increase in profit didnt not go the owner or those that labor.. But went to the fat bonus of the landlords.. Why is these scholars so blind not to see the real cause of the problem?

Do you guys encounter queuing behind cars waiting to join the main road, the 1st lane is clear for the cars in front to turn left and enter the main road - but they will wait and wait and wait until they can cut straight across 3 lanes to do a right turn/U turn perpendicularly opposite. I find it very inconsiderate, when they can join the main road at the first opportunity and do a U turn further down the road How patient are you guys in this situation, do you ever horn them?

Managed to record this interesting scene. I saw this lady cyclist on Nicoll Highway towards City direction on Thursady morning. The way she rode was very unstable. For a moment I was wonderig if bicycles are allowed on highway but what a heck... While I turned right at the Nicoll Highway and Middle Road junction, you could see that she performed a "drift" and suddenly cut into my way. Fortunately I anticipated her move and slowly moved behind her. Then while I was on Seah Street and about to North Bridge Road and while I was queuing behind a Comfort taxi, what happend later was even more amazing. She rode past my car from the right and drifted into the North Bridge Road (view partially blocked by the taxi in front of me) into the busy traffic. You could see a while car and another grey car dashed past and nearly bumped into her. I could even hear a loud horn, probably from the white car. What an interesting morning... -
I was enjoying my smooth and nice drive to work today. Monday 7July2008. Initially I thought the oil price and the new ERP gantries has finally got to many car drivers, and being a new week today may be the first day many tries out the public system. Went in office, was surprised that many colleagues are already in the office. Over the pantry, we talked about the smooth traffic. Then it dawned upon me that today is Youth day, its a school holiday. DUH! No wonder the road is 'empty'. So it seems that the conclusion that the morning jams on most roads are really caused by parents sending their childs to schools and on route to work!

Just finish polishing my 2 weeks old car. From far looks good. However upon closer inspection, seems like I've intro some minor scratches and haze defect to the paint work. I'm curious as to what have I done to intro the haze defect? My sequence of polishing... - Wash with water+soap - Clay bar with same water+soap - Dry car - Apply JW Prime, Allow to haze then polish off - Apply JW Trigger , then polish off I apply the Prime in a straight line manner (as oppose to circular manner) The cloth I use for washing and drying are pretty old cloth (100% cotton type) The one use for polishing is almost new cloth (100% cotton type) Can anyone advise? How to remove the haze defect without using polishing pad?

Just changed my main fan today (132k), however if you are certain you don't get stuck in heavy traffic standstill, you can just drive with AC fan instead. You also cannot drive without AC (the only fan working). However with the fan faulty for 3 weeks, no issue with overheating in SGP roads at all. xinZhing also stocks this fan as it's quite a frequent wear and tear item.

Noticed that nowadays, the main page seems to load slower. Usually see the top banner first, then need to wait a while, before the page body is loaded.... Any others here also feel the same? Maybe can remove some of the things from the main page to speed up the loading speed, eg. instead of showing the server stats directly on the main page, can just include a link to another page which shows the stats... Or maybe the slow loading speed is due to google ads...

Hi guys, Understand that there is a new H4 SilverVision from Philips, the tip of the bulb is silver in colour and quartz glass is tinted with a very light blue colour. Has anyone tried this new bulb? How is its throw and colour temp? Can't find much info abt this bulb online. Tks
