Any bros out there knows anything about the history of this red and white "Tan Tong Meng" tower ? I'll be shifting into my matrimonial home in about a month's time. Home is right next to this Tan Tong Meng tower. Have been hearing rumours about this building being haunted, I'm absolutely fine, I love the location and my new place. Problem is, due to my long hours at work, I normally reach home quite late, wifey is getting the jitters because of this. Thus would appreciate anyone who knows any history of this place so that I can calm my wifey lol. Ah Meng, icon of Singapore Zoo, dies of old age By Hasnita A Majid, Channel NewsAsia | Posted: 08 February 2008 1828 hrs Photos 1 of 1 SINGAPORE: Ah Meng, the Sumatran Orang Utan that was considered an icon at the Singapore Zoo, died on Friday. She was 48 years old and had likely died of old age. In 1971, Ah Meng was confiscated from a family which had illegally kept her as a pet. She then found her home at the Singapore Zoo. Ah Meng was the first to host the zoo's famous 'Breakfast With An Orang Utan' programme. She soon became a celebrity, both locally and internationally. She had been featured in over 30 travel films and 'interviewed' by more than 300 writers. In 1992, Ah Meng received a special award from the Singapore Tourism Board in recognition of her contribution towards tourism in Singapore. Ah Meng also contributed to the Singapore Zoo's captive breeding programme. She had five children and became a grandmother in 1990. The Singapore Zoo will hold a memorial service for Ah Meng on Sunday at 11am.

Isn't Goh the Oppo-chap who led NSP to a sounding defeat in GE2011 due to his poor fielding strategy? After GE 2011, he resigned from NSP. Goh was a former WP CEC member in GE2006, but left WP for unknown reasons. Goh recently lend his support to Tan Kin Lian for the latter's presidential bid but failed terribly. Then recently i noticed Goh is part of the TOC team and his Chinese article is just a piece of whiny article on his dislike of LKY and PAP. Wa biang. erm anyway, I just find it surprising that Goh is with the TOC team. Ho Say liao. The down fall of TOC is coming. God Bless TOC coz Goh was involved in so many entities, but none succeeded under him, then he resigned. Do things do half way... wa lao. Ah Meng is dead..may he rest in peace in the other heaven. About 4000 show up to pay final respects at Ah Meng's funeral..I grew up knowing about Ah Meng
