First of all, I have to apologise to @Jamesc @Mustank and many others here, as I have mistaken your intention of surfing the above website. Taiwanese teacher uses adult video platform Pornhub to teach mathematics https://www.todayonline.com/world/taiwanese-teacher-uses-adult-video-platform-pornhub-teach-mathematics?cid=telegram_tg-single_social-free_26012019_today Video platform Pornhub is normally associated with adult entertainment. But a Taiwanese teacher decided to go against the flow and used the platform to offer Mathematics lessons instead. The 34-year-old, identified as Mr Changshu, has a master’s degree in the subject, and has been teaching online and in Taiwanese schools for 15 years. He also lectured on YouTube before developing an online course with its own dedicated URL last year, Mel Magazine reported. Mr Chang also started to spread his numeric gospel on Pornhub last year as he wanted more people to view them. “Since very few people teach math on adult video platforms, and since there are so many people who watch videos on them, I thought that if I uploaded my videos there, a lot of people would see them,” he was quoted as saying. So far, Mr Chang's plan has worked well. His videos have been viewed 1.6 million times and it directs business to his more profitable online course. I think this is one piece of good news for many, as next time kena caught by wife, girl friend, small 3 for surfing pornhub, just tell them you are trying to improve on your maths. 😁😁

Calling the maths experts: Given three unknown square numbers add up to 109, what are these numbers? The conditions are that these numbers are all not equal, and they are whole numbers. Is there a systematic, methodical way to determine these numbers, without resorting to "guess and check"?

Remember when the internet went bananas trying to find out the date of Cheryl’s birthday in a logic question? Here comes another one. Don’t worry, this is pretty simple, as long as you know how to think out of the box. (Photo: Mashable) The puzzle is meant for elementary school kids, who have to identify the number of a blocked parking lot spot in less than 20 seconds. In the question, six numbered parking spots are displayed, with one blocked from view by a parked car. With the numbers, 16, 06, 68, 88, and 98, it does prove to be quite a challenge. The answer is simple: Just flip the image over, and the answer will be right in front you, clear as day. (Photo: Mashable) This puzzle appeared in a Hong Kong elementary school first grade student admissions test, and was circulated on Chinese social media platform, Sina Weibo. According to The Guardian, the puzzle was in fact created by British puzzle inventor David Bodycombe, who came up with the question when he was in a car park in Portugal. It was also published in a 2002 IQ puzzle book for Marks & Spencer. ========================================================================== It is L8 rite?? Cant be 87...

1st Permutation... There are 4 Variants. Each Variant can either WIN or LOSE, for a total of 3 times. ... If a Variant WINS, the value MUST range from 2-3. If a Variant LOSES, the value MUST range from 0-1. The TOTAL number of WINS & LOSSES for all 4 Variants be add up to 6 WINS & 6 LOSSES. 2nd Permutation... Each Variant's TOTAL Value MUST range from 0-9. All 4 Variants MUST ADD up to 18. Each Variant's TOTAL Value can share the same number with another Variant. I'm looking for all POSSIBLE answers that will lead to either of the following... - A permutation that leads to 3 Variants having the same number - A permutation that leads to 2 Variants having the same number - A permutation that leads to 2 Variants having the same number, but their value is in between 2 other Variants' value. - A permutation that leads to 2 Variants having the same number, and their value is lesser than the other 2 Variants.

Any idea how to figure this out using the primary school model method: There were 124 sausage and curry buns in a bakery. When 5/8 of the sausage buns and 4/7 of the curry buns were sold, the total number of sausage and curry buns left became 48. How many sausage buns were there at the bakery at first?

Frankly reading and trying to understand the maths problem stated in the ST Forum letter already took me 1 1/2 minutes and to solve within another 3 1/2 minutes without using simultaneous equation is beyond my capability. Are you able to solve it within 5 minutes? Just glad that I was born many moons back and not have to face this type of maths question nowadays... Can understand this dad's frustration and hope that I will not pose a similar question to the authorities when my children faces such a situation in the future... From ST Forum: http://www.straitstimes.com/STForum/Online...ory_710009.html Don't hurt pupils' self-esteem with tough questions Published on Sep 7, 2011 AS A PARENT, I wonder whether some teachers who set exam papers are really interested in gauging the ability of pupils. Sometimes it seems as though they are simply intent on making life miserable for them. Take a look at this maths question in a recently concluded Primary 6 preliminary exam: 'Three halls contained 9,876 chairs altogether. One-fifth of the chairs were transferred from the first hall to the second hall. Then, one-third of the chairs were transferred from the second hall to the third hall and the number of chairs in the third hall doubled. In the end, the number of chairs in the three halls became the same. How many chairs were in the second hall at first?' I challenge readers to solve this problem in five minutes, which is all the time a Primary 6 pupil has to do it. I challenge school principals to do it, without the help of equations, which Primary 6 pupils aren't equipped with yet. Setting such difficult questions serves no educational purpose - it only undermines the pupils' self-esteem. Stephen Lin
