Taurus Horoscope April 20 – May 20 https://www.horoscope.com/us/horoscopes/yearly/2018-horoscope-taurus.aspx Rock your world in 2018! Don't be reluctant to make a big change or upset the status quo if needed. When the sun enters Taurus, Venus is already there. Surround yourself with beautiful thoughts in beautiful settings, don't compromise, and don't be rushed. Mother Nature is definitely on your side this year. In October, Venus goes retrograde in Scorpio and direct in Libra in November. Relationships get serious and benefit from extra attention. Have success in the material world as well. Take a good, hard look at the world you've built around you. Keep what works well and what pleases best. Be more constructive and comfortable. You'll have the chance to connect with more people and engage in more new situations as never before. It's also a year for you to start many new projects and begin exploring new avenues in life. On the day before the sun enters Gemini, Venus enters charming, popular Cancer. Mars has just entered big-thinking, clear-headed Aquarius, and Uranus has just entered methodical, materialistic Taurus. Expect 2018 to bring you improvements and some changes of direction in your social life and career. You could step into a new world. All three Mercury retrogrades this year occur in fire signs. Life should barely slow down at all. Promote yourself a bit less in the spring, and refine your presentation. Take fewer risks in the summer, and have more fun. In late autumn, ponder some recent big lessons and apply them more wisely. Just after Venus turns direct in November, your planet Mercury conjoins generous Jupiter. Your love life need not slow down or lose focus. What a sizzling year! On New Year's Day, the moon leaves Gemini and enters Cancer. The moon also opposes responsible Saturn. You'll always have the skills and instincts to keep everything in balance and working smoothly. A lunar eclipse in January with the moon in Leo could thrust you further into the spotlight than you'd like. No matter. It's a growing experience that shows you how to better take charge and act with authority. Another lunar eclipse in late July has the moon in Aquarius. Have a clearer view of the world and think in bigger terms about bigger problems. Jupiter retrograde in emotional Scorpio from March through early July makes you even more psychic. Afterward, see through obstacles to happier, more successful conclusions. The lunar eclipse in January has the moon in Leo, which could touch off emotional issues from the past. The lunar eclipse in July has the sun in Leo. Feel more emotionally grounded now. A partial solar eclipse in August could affect your social or professional status. Make it good! Mercury is retrograde in Leo during July and August. Mars will be retrograde, too, in Aquarius. Push slightly less hard now, give more thought before taking action, and come out far ahead of the game. Virgo Horoscope August 23 – September 22 https://www.horoscope.com/us/horoscopes/yearly/2018-horoscope-virgo.aspx Virgo, 2018 is your year to get intense! Intensity has its ups and downs, and you can make the most of the ups while coping skillfully with any downs. Your planet Mercury has three retrogrades this year, all of them in fire signs (Aries in April, Leo in August, Sagittarius in November). After each retrograde, feel impassioned about yourself and your life, and watch everything fall into place for you. Earth signs empower you, too. Uranus enters Taurus to keep finances and sensual pleasures reliable, as well as electrifying. Saturn is retrograde in Capricorn from April until early September. Late August and early September will be powerful times for you. Mars is retrograde from late June to late August, concluding in the final degrees of work-oriented Capricorn. Take your time and make no mistakes in your career and social lives. And yes, it's a socially busy year. Enjoy it all! Libra Horoscope September 23 – October 22 https://www.horoscope.com/us/horoscopes/yearly/2018-horoscope-libra.aspx The focus is on you for 2018, Libra. Be prepared for people to look to you for advice and leadership. It will be easy and it will come naturally, so relax and enjoy the attention. On New Year's Day, your planet Venus is empowered through a conjunction with the noble sun and with an applying conjunction with powerful Pluto. Exercise your authority with grace and generosity. This gives people more reasons to respect and love you. The three Mercury retrogrades are all in fire signs. This may slow down a hectic daily life and then conclude with a great burst of energy, and more. In August, get creative and more elegant. In November and December, pace yourself and prepare for a sizzling holiday season. The Mars retrograde from late June through late August could delay or redirect career plans, but it will end with a more stable career trajectory. The Venus retrograde from October through the first half of November, ending in Libra, impacts you more. Love will reign supreme! Scorpio Horoscope October 23 – November 21 https://www.horoscope.com/us/horoscopes/yearly/2018-horoscope-scorpio.aspx You're a powerful person and a force of nature in 2018, Scorpio! The year begins with your planet Mars conjoined with influential Jupiter in Scorpio. Once you decide on a plan of action, nothing and no one will be able to slow you down. On New Year's Day, the sun conjoins your modern ruling planet, Pluto. Your intensity could scare people away. To ease this, pleasant Venus also conjoins the sun, all in earth sign Capricorn. Big success and popularity are readily available this year. This year's Mercury retrogrades are all in fire signs. The third retrograde, in November and early December, is mostly in Sagittarius but ends in the late degrees of Scorpio. This might affect you more, probably in your social or educational life. Mars is retrograde from late June through late August, all in Capricorn. Be more thoughtful in your career efforts, and emerge in September ready to set the world back on fire! Sagittarius Horoscope November 22 – December 21 https://www.horoscope.com/us/horoscopes/yearly/2018-horoscope-sagittarius.aspx Enter 2018 moving in high speed, Sagittarius, and accelerate from there. Your planet Jupiter is powerful and ambitious and will keep you going full blast in the direction that moves you forward. On New Year's Day, Jupiter is in an applying conjunction with single-minded Mars in “no fooling around” Scorpio. There is no time to waste in 2018. You have big things to do, people to see, and places to go. The sun, Venus, and Pluto are all together in Capricorn as 2018 starts, with Jupiter and Pluto in a cooperative sextile. You want to see results, results that will last. Jupiter is retrograde in Scorpio from March until early July. This buys you time to make careful observations and calculations that advance your professional and social goals. On November 8, Jupiter leaves Scorpio and enters its home sign of Sagittarius. From that point until the end of the year, you may feel that nothing can stop or slow you down. Capricorn Horoscope December 22 – January 19 https://www.horoscope.com/us/horoscopes/yearly/2018-horoscope-capricorn.aspx Life makes more and better sense in 2018, Capricorn. A clearer perspective will make it much easier to achieve your goals and dreams. On New Year's Day, idealistic Neptune is in a cooperative if loose sextile with the sun and Venus. This isn't superficial charm. It's grace that draws allies and good fortune to you. Also, Mars and Jupiter are still in a productive sextile with the sun and Pluto. You can play for keeps and do it in the most constructive way. Your planet Saturn is now at home in Capricorn, and this greatly empowers you. In the summer, Mars is retrograde in early Aquarius and then Capricorn. Refocus and redirect great energy now. Saturn is retrograde from the middle of April until early September. You may be the most impatient and perhaps anxious then. Don't dwell on difficulties or obstacles. Methodically work your way through them and emerge better organized and more respected than ever. Aquarius Horoscope January 20 – February 18 https://www.horoscope.com/us/horoscopes/yearly/2018-horoscope-aquarius.aspx The year 2018 is full of changes, Aquarius, and they all make you more influential and important. You may not always take yourself seriously, but please take what you do seriously, and see great progress and success this year. Your planet Uranus is making a slow transition back and forth from Aries into Taurus in May, then moving retrograde back into Aries in November. The most fundamental changes to your daily life could begin to happen this year. Saturn, your other planet, is now securely in its home sign of Capricorn. Saturn can provide grounding and stability when Uranus is voting for the experimental and risky option. The summer Mars retrograde also provides calm should the outside world get beyond complicated. Venus is retrograde from October until the middle of November. This can cool an overheated love life and give you and your loved ones time to make practical improvements in your relationships. Fixed sign Aquarius resonates well with the applying Mars-Jupiter conjunction that opens the year. “Passion,” “power,” and “popularity” are keywords for you this year. Pisces Horoscope February 19- March 20 https://www.horoscope.com/us/horoscopes/yearly/2018-horoscope-pisces.aspx The year 2018 is one for hard work, Pisces, and the stars are working hard for you. On New Year's Day, the moon, Mars, Jupiter, and Neptune are all in water signs. You have keen sensitivities and sharp insights and intuition all year long. Earth signs keep things real with the sun, Venus, Saturn, and Pluto all in Capricorn on New Year's Day. In May, Uranus makes its long-awaited entry into Taurus. Practical, material concerns are highlighted all year, but with Uranus in the mix, nothing should be boring or taken for granted. Your planet Neptune remains in the heart of Pisces. No matter how the material world tries to push its agenda, you won't lose sight of your dreams. Your other planet, Jupiter, spends most the year in Scorpio, being retrograde from March until early September. Fundamental daily life issues will be handled promptly and easily. In November, Jupiter leaves Scorpio and enters its home sign of Sagittarius. Let the parties begin!

US daredevil dies in Yosemite jumping accident https://sg.news.yahoo.com/us-daredevil-potter-dies-jumping-accident-083834489.html A world-renowned extreme athlete died along with another man during a stunt at the Yosemite National Park in California, US media said Sunday. Tributes poured in from all over the globe for Dean Potter, 43, following his death on Saturday. He and fellow BASE jumper Graham Hunt, 29, were killed during a jump at Taft Point, ABC News said, citing Yosemite National Park spokesman Scott Gediman. Reports filtered through to park officials on Saturday of an accident and a helicopter spotted the two bodies on Sunday. When Rangers got to them about noon, they were identified as Potter and Hunt, Gediman said. Other media said the pair had been attempting a wingsuit flight from Taft Point but smashed into a rocky outcrop when they tried to fly through a narrow gap in the mountains. On Potter's official Facebook page -- where he describes himself as "artist, adventurer, athlete" -- extreme sports enthusiasts from all over the world paid tribute to the man admired for his fearlessness and incredible courage. His last Facebook post, on May 12, shows a picture of his dog in a mountainous landscape and the caption: "Miss Whisper. Yosemite Dog." In an interview with The New York Times in 2008, Potter said: "Part of me says it's kind of crazy to think you can fly your human body. "Another part of me thinks all of us have had the dream that we can fly. Why not chase after it? Maybe it brings you to some other tangent. Chasing after the unattainable is the fun part." BASE stands for buildings, antennas, spans and Earth that jumpers can parachute from. It is illegal in US national parks.

We will share a prayer with you. http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/sin...1234079/1/.html Trial begins for ex-principal accused of misappropriating funds By Kimberly Spykerman | Posted: 29 October 2012 1334 hrs Click to enlarge Photos 1 of 1 Singapore Subordinate Courts (Photo: Anthony Chia, channelnewsasia.com) inShare 10 SINGAPORE : The former principal of Maris Stella High School who was charged with misappropriating nearly S$150,000 was in court on Monday for the opening of the trial. 65-year-old Anthony Tan Kim Hock, who retired in 2009, allegedly committed the offence in the school on 21 separate occasions between May 2004 and September 2009. The prosecution is proceeding with one charge - where Tan is alleged to have misappropriated about S$67,700 from the school's chapel building fund account between March and September 2009. He was still the school's principal then. The remaining 20 charges have been stood down for now. The prosecution has lined up nine witnesses. Three of them - an investigation officer from the Commercial Affairs Department (CAD), a cashier from Mustafa shopping centre and an architect - took the stand on Monday. The court heard that Tan allegedly used the money from the school's chapel building fund to do rebuilding and renovation works for the Champagnat House in Flower Road. The Champagnat House is the residence of the Marist brothers - the lay-religious congregation Tan belongs to. Work began on the house in February 2008 and ended in May 2009. The court also heard that while Tan was not directly supervising the project, bills for some of the works such as stained glass and granite cladding - which involves the adhering of stones to the walls of a building - were sent to him. According to statements that Tan gave to the CAD in 2011, he said that he had already reimbursed the money taken from the chapel building fund. Of the 20 remaining charges that have been stood down, 13 of them involve a man known as Peter Lim - whose relation to Tan is not clear. Tan allegedly used money from the school management committee as well as the director-general of education school fund accounts to pay for items such as seven of Mr Lim's overseas school trips and an open water diving course in Pulau Tioman. The trial continues on Tuesday. - CNA/xq/ms

SINGAPORE: Minister of State for Trade and Industry Teo Ser Luck said Singapore has to be a values-driven society. Speaking at the inaugural National Youth conference on corporate social responsibility, Mr Teo said it was the values of working together, understanding and meeting the expectations of different stakeholders that enabled Singapore to have an inclusive society where everyone matters today. He said ultimately, social responsibility -- be it that of an individual or a corporation -- must make a positive difference to lives and society. Mr Teo said the government will continue to support the embedding of social responsibility and best practices for long term sustainability of the environment, business and people. - CNA/ac Why keep saying things out of text book? http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg...ef_teacher.html I'm sure not all female teachers are like her. Some want 40k grand wedding, this one is into boys, how kinky. A STOMPer was appalled when he came across a blog created by a relief teacher in Singapore, who said that only ACSi boys are worth dating, and that guys from Raffles Institution and Chinese High are "ugly". Said the STOMPer: "I came across this blog created by a relief teacher in Singapore. "She compared boys from all-boys schools, and described boys from Chinese High and Raffles Institution as being 'ugly' and that St Andrews boys are 'imitated goods of ACSi'. "She said ACSi boys are the only ones worth dating. "She described ACSi boys as being 'rich, spoilt, pampered, arrogant player but NEVER ugly, cowardly/disloyal, stupid, dumb...' "This relief teacher he even has a checklist for people who hate her -- asking them if their PSLE score is above 260, or if they have been scouted by countless modelling agencies, among others. "She may be smart, but why must she think so highly of herself? "I think there will always be someone smarter than you, no matter how intelligent you think you are. But you'll never be wise until you've learnt about humility."

Hi guys, I have been looking to buy an HDB flat (resale). I had been approached by 4 agents. But I realise something, most of them tend to "b-------t". Two of them have no units and they claim they have, one of them kept changing his pricing.. and one always suggest me places which I do not want (even tho I have indicate my preference). All of them always say different things at different times...oh man. I understand they want to earn their living, but it really irks me when they are not being honest (I dun expect complete honesty) or not sincere in communicating. I am rather dismay at the quality/ethics of my 4 agents to an extend I would rather do the sourcing and paper work myself.. any one has the same situation like me? Did you guys do your own paper work and how we go about it? I have no intention of flaming property agents, but just that the 4 I had is .... well just my luck? Cheers

April 15, 2008 JI escape: One blot should not mar good work, says Jaya By Zakir Hussain THE escape of Jemaah Islamiah (JI) leader Mas Selamat Kastari from detention has understandably resulted in public criticism of Singapore's security agencies. But Deputy Prime Minister S. Jayakumar yesterday cautioned against letting this one incident overshadow the bigger picture: what he described as the truly outstanding work of the Home Team and Internal Security Department (ISD) in keeping Singapore safe. 'Since 1966, men and women from the ISD have dedicated themselves to fighting threats to Singapore's domestic security,' he said, citing groups such as the Japanese Red Army, the Tamil Tigers, and more recently, the local JI network. Indeed, had the JI's plans for several bomb attacks here not been exposed in time, 'Singapore would have suffered disastrous consequences', he said. Mas Selamat, who led the Singapore JI network, fled in the aftermath of the 2001 crackdown. He was nabbed in Indonesia and handed over to the Singapore authorities in 2006. His escape from the Whitley Road Detention Centre on Feb 27 sparked a manhunt. Professor Jayakumar, who was Home Affairs Minister from 1985 to 1993, also noted the warning issued by the Provisional Irish Republican Army after its bombing of a Brighton hotel in 1984 failed to kill then British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. The group said: 'Today we were unlucky, but remember we only have to be lucky once. You will have to be lucky always...' These chilling words came back to him, he said, because Mas Selamat's escape was threatening to make people forget the good work that the ISD had done over the years. The escape was a blot on its copybook, and even more so than the public, ISD 'must feel keenly' the seriousness of the setback, he said. 'But the ISD officers have not been paralysed or demoralised. They are as determined now as they were seven years ago when they first identified the JI threat and took prompt action... 'They have continued working patiently and resolutely with the detainees, their families, and the Malay community. These are crucial yet delicate tasks, and the officers deserve our full support.' Prof Jayakumar, who is also Coordinating Minister for National Security, was speaking at a conference of security officials organised by the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS) and the National Security Coordination Secretariat. Noted RSIS dean Barry Desker: 'Precisely because no society can be impervious to attack, we must focus on resilience. It's not how or how often you fall that matters, but the getting up again.' [email protected] there's no doubt abt ISD, even with drug busting groups.. but why the snr minister mention luck? dun think their paycheck was benchmark against luck...

http://sg.biz.yahoo.com/061120/1/44y88.html Monday November 20, 4:04 PM Auto defects up in China amid price war Defects have been found in 77 percent of locally made cars in China, largely due to a price war forcing manufacturers to cut corners, state press has reported, citing an industry survey. The defects, found within six months of the cars being bought, mainly involved the tires, air conditioning, brakes, locks and steering wheels, the China Daily said, citing the 2006 China Automobile Customer Satisfaction Index. ADVERTISEMENT "The defects are a result of carmakers constantly reducing prices and sacrificing quality," the paper quoted Fan Tianshun, director of the China Quality Association, which conducted the poll, as saying. "I recommend car producers not to grab market share simply by lowering prices." For every 100 new cars, there were an average of 338 defects, much higher than last year's 246, the report said. On average, China's car prices have dropped about 10,000 yuan (1,250 dollars) per car each year over "the past few years" as manufacturers try to compete in the booming market, the paper said. After years of dynamic growth, China is now the world's second largest auto market after the United States. In the first 10 months of the year, 5.89 million vehicles were produced in China, up 27 percent from the same period in 2005, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers. Defects were more prevalent in cheaper cars in the 30,000 yuan to the 50,000 yuan range, such as China's homegrown Geely, Chery QQ and the Changan Alto, the paper said. But fewer defects in more expensive cars helped result in customer satisfaction over China's domestically built automobiles actually growing by 0.1 percent so far this year over 2005, the paper added. The index was based on a poll of 4,648 participants in 36 cities this year, it said. kana ownezzzz man, left right center! Good luck to cheapskate sporean who wanna buy cheaper car. 77% defects are the average liao after considering the "better quality" higher end china brand cars. 330+ defects for every 100 new cars. OMG! that is almost 3.3 defects for every car. and this records are excluding those unreported cases... QQ is definately one of the model to have worst defect than 77% as it is the lowest end car as stated abv, another one is geely. They are road hazards and should not be on the road man. LTA betta have something to say for allowing cars like these to be allowed into spore pay 1 cent for 1/2 cent goods.. in the end going to pay more.. <
