We had a chat with Lawrence Kim, Ebenezer Group's CEO to find out why he decided to go green by electrifying his fleet. Many might know of Hong Seh Motors as the company that held the local distributorship of Ferrari and Maserati supercars, but the company has since shifted its focus towards building a greener world. Being among the first movers importing electric passenger and commercial Electric Vehicles (EV) into Singapore, Hong Seh Motors has played a huge role in electrification here. And it continues to work with its partners to champion the switch to EV where it matters the most - the large number of commercial vehicles that run on Diesel or Petrol. To help us gain a better understanding about the challenges and benefits of switching to EVs, Hong Seh has arranged for us to have a chat with one of its biggest clients and partners, Lawrence Kim, CEO, Ebenezer Group (a logistics company). Here's what we found out. Adopting the EV lifestyle isn't an overnight journey Switching from Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) to EV is as simple as selling the old vehicles and buying brand new EVs right? Except, that isn't really the case as we found out from Lawrence. Do you remember how buying your first car and stepping into car ownership was a lifestyle change that affected your daily life? According to Lawrence, the switch to EVs is a substantial lifestyle change as well. Like Hong Seh, Ebenezer Group is a first mover in electrification, with the latter opting to give EVs a try back in August 2020 when the company purchased three MG EV cars for its leaders and management staff. Lawrence believes that before the company switch to EVs for its fleet, the management should have a first-hand experience, understand the nuances of an EV lifestyle and make an informed decision on electrification. As the team quickly realised, the limited EV charging infrastructure meant that they had to be familiar with the available charging locations. After the initial experience, the company decided to install their own chargers to facilitate the charging of its EVs while enjoying lower charging rates. While the switch to EV wasn't entirely hiccup-free Lawrence noticed that the benefits far outweigh the cons - especially when it comes down to dollars and cents. In a highly simplified example, Lawrence mentioned that the petrol cost for the ICE management vehicles were close to $1,000 a month per car, meanwhile charging the EVs costs in the ballpark of $200 a month. This has resulted in savings of almost $10,000 a year - easily outshadowing the depreciation of the car. Going green doesn't simply save you money, it makes you more! "People think that going green is about saving money, but actually, going green makes you money," with his experience on going green, Lawrence believes that going green will result in an increase in profits. Indeed, the amount of savings from switching to EV is so substantial that it could simply be thought of as an increase in earnings. Like all investments, going green is a business activity that will result in making you money. Apart from Ebenezer's logistics operations, Lawrence also deals with solar panels, and is hence familiar with the green industry as a whole. And he told us that with the lowering costs and improvements in efficiency, the Return on Investment for a typical solar energy setup is just four years. By powering its chargers with solar energy, Ebenezer went one step further in going green. At the same time, this decision has managed to help the company to make more money. Electrification of your fleet is simple and easy with Hong Seh Evolution Gone are the times where chargers and suitable EVs for your business are few and far between. Unlike when Ebenezer first started, the industry has come a long way, and it is all thanks to companies like Hong Seh that are committed to bringing in these green vehicles. If you are looking to purchase an electric commercial vehicle, Hong Seh is the place to be. Hong Seh Evolution is the first in Singapore to work with financial institutes to offer green financing loans to aid companies with their journey of going green. Hong Seh Evolution offers a range of efficient and practical EV commercial vehicles from DFSK, the line up includes the EC35 van, EC31 lorry and EC31 refrigerated truck. The EC35 is a small van that is practical and easy to drive. It is an excellent choice for goods delivery and also as an eco-friendly mode of transport - compare its running cost against that of a petrol or diesel powered van and you'll be sure to see plenty of cost savings. Meanwhile, the EC31 is a highly versatile lorry that is offered in various configurations. The lorry bed can be boxed up, fitted with a tailgate, or with a canopy, it is also offered as a refrigerator truck. The commercial EVs from DFSK can all do well over 200km on a single charge, and can be charged quickly with the appropriate chargers. Consider the fact that public EV chargers are now readily available, with their numbers only going to grow even further, there's no reason for you to stick to the outdated, inefficient and pollutive ICE commercial vehicles. If an early adopter like Ebenezer was able to benefit from switching the EVs, you too could revolutionise your business by electrifying your fleet. Remember, "going green makes you money". DFSK - keep your business going It is really easy to make the switch to EV, you just have to approach Hong Seh Evolution and take your pick of the EV that suits your needs and requirements. On top of the various green-car specific loans to help you in electrifying your fleet, Hong Seh Evolution also have various leasing plans available. You can lease DFSK vehicles from Hong Seh Evolution for a period of three, five or seven years at affordable leasing rates that are suitable for your business needs. To find out more about the DFSK commercial EVs you can reach out to Hong Seh Evolution at 8030 8030, or visit its showroom at 237 Alexandra Road, The Alexcier #01-06 Singapore 159929. You can also visit DFSK Singapore's website for more information on the EVs.

When the video has no audio, you know who is to blame already. What happened? A camcar tried to cut into the left lane on Loyang Way (yellow box btw). Unfortunately for him, the lorry behind him was having none of it. Since the video has no audio we do not know what made the camcar back out, though a big honk is always a good deterrent. After securing his position in the lane, the lorry driver followed up by flipping off the camcar and a few more angry gestures. He went back into the car, and just when you thought it was over… Honestly? Good aim. I could see bro calculate the spread of water and the distance to reach the camcar. Online chatter If the camcar uploaded the footage to rally people to his side, it backfired. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Source: https://mothership.sg/2023/11/lorry-speed-limiters/ All lorries in Singapore — with a maximum laden weight (MLW) of between 3,501kg and 12,000kg — must soon be equipped with a speed limiter to ensure that they do not exceed the 60km per hour speed limit. To reduce fatalities & injuries The Traffic Police (TP) said in a statement on Nov. 3, 2023, that lorry owners can start installing the devices in 2024 and will be given up to three years to do so, depending on the MLW and registration date of the vehicle. As of now, it is compulsory for goods vehicles with an MLW exceeding 12,000kg to have a speed limiter installed. The speed limiter complements other measures intended to reduce fatalities and injuries among all road users, the TP said. Timeline For lorries registered before 2018, a speed limiter must be installed before 2026 if their MLW is between 5,001kg and 12,000kg. For those with an MLW of between 3,501kg and 5,000kg, it must be completed before July 2026 Newer lorries registered from 2018 will have to install the device before 2027 if the MLW of their vehicle is between 5,001kg and 12,000kg, and before July 2027 if the MLW is between 3,501kg and 5,000kg. Speed limiters will also be required for imported lorries to be approved for use from 2026. During the vehicle’s pre-registration, relevant documentation should be submitted to the Land Transport Authority. The laws against tampering speed limiters, non-compliant speed limiters and unauthorised speed limiters will be reviewed, TP said. Companies will have to apply to be an authorised agent online by Nov. 30 to supply, install, rectify, or perform inspections on speed limiters for lorries. A list of authorised companies will be put up on the police website by Dec. 31, 2023. Companies that are currently authorised to install speed limiters in other vehicles are also required to apply for an authorisation certificate. Opt for electronic speed limiter The TP is urging lorry owners to install an electronic control unit-based speed limiter, which is newer and likely to be less expensive. But not all lorries are compatible with electronic control unit-based speed limiters. Owners should consult the device installation companies. The alternative is the mechanical speed limiter. Agents authorised by TP will conduct a compliance check after installation to ensure the speed limiter is functioning properly.

Get free furniture when driving thanks to overloaded lorries!
Fadevfast posted a blog entry in MyAutoBlog
If anyone would like to have some furniture for their home, apparently just driving around could net you some free goods! Whether or not you’ll get them in good condition, however, is another issue. What happened? A driver on the Central Expressway (CTE) was on his merry way when a lorry started hurling furniture onto the road. The white dresser (looks like it?) slid off the top of the lorry straight onto the driver’s path, getting run over and destroyed. Bro almost got hit with a blue shell from Mario Kart. The driver who submitted the video was quoted saying “Lucky didn't hit my windscreen. TP pls watch out for these dangerous overloaded pickup.” Pretty reasonable reaction if you ask me. Online chatter Others agreed, thinking this situation would be dangerous especially for riders. Many blamed the lorry for being irresponsible, as it was overpacked and on the wrong lane (among other reasons). ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Lorry causes massive multi-vehicle accident at SLE, 5 hospitalised
Fadevfast posted a blog entry in MyAutoBlog
What happened? A massive crash took place in Seletar Expressway (SLE) on 6 July 2023 after a Toyota lorry lost control and skidded, causing a chain collision involving 5 other motorcyclists and a car. As we can see in the footage, the motorcyclists were left with no time to react. One motorcyclist leapt off his bike to avoid the crash, while others were unable to avoid it and caused a pile up. The first motorcyclist was also put between the lorry and a Honda, though the extent of the damage to the Honda is unknown. In the aftermath of the incident, it is shown that shrapnel was left littered across the road, while some of the riders involved were lying on the ground, injured. Fortunately, other riders were present to help them out and ensure their well being. The injured riders were conscious and sent to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. It is not known what happened to cause the lorry to lose control, or the condition of the lorry driver. Online chatter Many blamed the lorry for the incident, some giving their own experiences of how heavy vehicles are in the wrong lanes. A couple of people however, blamed the bikes for lane splitting. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Now I know why when you make a mess it’s sometimes called a skidmark. Watch this video to see what kind of mess the lorry and taxi made when they came together. What happened? On 1 May 2023, a crash involving a lorry and a Hyundai taxi took place at the junction of Bras Basah Road and Nicoll Highway in front of Suntec Convention Centre. It is unclear as to the causes of the crash as the two cars are faced away from each other. The lorry was facing towards the entrance of Esplanade MRT while the taxi still faced the direction of the road. Think of one of those diagrams for vectors in O-Levels (ughhhhh). The lorry has been flipped to its side, while the taxi is some distance away from it with an open fuel tank and missing its entire front end. I’m really confused by this crash because the taxi is some distance away from the lorry, facing a completely different direction than the lorry even after impact. But somehow it was not hit with enough force to flip the taxi over or deal more structural damage. The video also shows a glimpse of a deployed airbag in the taxi, but no signs of any one having been inside the vehicle. SCDF personnel were present to close off the scene and gather evidence from the taxi. The taxi also left a trail of fluids behind it and intermittent skid marks on the road. If the trail is wet, does it become diarrhea instead? We do not know the condition of the drivers or if any pedestrians were involved. Online chatter Many speculate speeding on at least one driver’s fault, with one commenter joking about testing the new F1 route. And of course, someone had to bring attention to the skid mark. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. TL;DR - A taxi and a lorry collided, sending the front bumper of the taxi out onto the bustling traffic of Orchard. A perfect example of great minds think alike - aiming for the same lane at the same time. Watch this 107-second video to see a flying bumper. So what happened? A ComfortDelgro taxi and a Sunshine Bread lorry were turning right into two different lanes when the lorry sideswiped the taxi, resulting in the taxi losing its entire bumper. The driver of the lorry then came out of his vehicle, hurling expletives and signaling gestures of unhappiness as he walked towards the taxi. Seems like man is all pumped up (with anger) for a fight. If you're kept abreast of road accidents in Singapore, you would know this path has seen quite a few accidents. In case you're heading to town, do take extra precaution when driving along this road. Online Chatter Some netizens are faulting the lorry for not staying in his lane/inching forward before turning, while others are blaming the taxi for not checking for safety before driving off. There are even some who brought LTA into the picture for the poorly designed roads here. Takeaway Lane markings are there for a reason, stay well within them and have good lane discipline. Apart from that, it is also imperative to always have an eye for blind spots (geddit?) ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Speeding lorry goes against traffic to overtake slower vehicles on a single lane
millanda posted a blog entry in MyAutoBlog
TL;DR - A lorry was seen going against traffic to overtake slower vehicles on a single lane. The driver then squeezes his way back onto its lane when the driver realises that there's oncoming traffic. Patience is a virtue. As responsible road users, we should always keep safety at the top of our minds. This lorry driver definitely did not. Watch this 44-second video to see why. What happened? A speeding lorry veered onto the path of oncoming traffic in an attempt to overtake slower vehicles in front. Needless to say, this reckless maneuver almost caused an accident with the cam car. The lorry driver then casually proceeds to swerve back into its lane without giving a hoot about the cam car. or the car in its rear. Let's hear from the netizens: Rouge style driving indeed. Seems like netizens are expressing their anger at the lorry driver, as any normal law-abiding citizen should. Whooping 9 bus-truck-lorry chain collision spotted along the AYE
j2nicecarmart posted a blog entry in MyAutoBlog
Camera footage has caught the scene of an insane 9 vehicle collision along the AYE. Consisting of SBS buses, lorries and trucks, all heavy vehicles. Watch the video for yourself below 292803191_725505348710288_827111803812174092_n.mp4 Hmmm I wonder what caused the root of the accident, perhaps one of the heavy vehicles jammed their breaks and the rest did not have sufficient time to follow suit? But, that would mean that 9 vehicles were tailgating one another! An SCDF ambulance was also caught seen on the road, perhaps to try and rescue and potentially injured individuals. Netizen Comments Netizens chime in with their own take of this shocking situation, many of which accusing the vehicles of engaging in ‘tailgating’, which is the act of driving too closely behind the vehicle, resulting in this chain collision No matter, I do hope that everybody involved in the accident is safe and did not sustain any permanent injuries. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. A pet peeve of mine is when commercial vehicles (Eg. Vans, lorries, tipper trucks) travel on lane 2 of the expressway. And I am certain this is a pet peeve of many drivers in Singapore. Due to the speed limit imposed on these vehicles, they often cause a slow down in the lane they are travelling in (assuming traffic is clear and they are driving under the speed limit). However, just because they are commercial vehicles, does it give them the right for passenger vehicles to "bully" them? Watch this video to find out what I mean: IMG_7319.MP4 What Happened? The accident above involved a lorry (cam-vehicle) and a Lexus RX300 SUV along lane 2 of an expressway. The lorry was travelling along lane 2 of the expressway at a constant speed before the reckless Lexus SUV decided to cut in front of it abruptly. Just as the Lexus RX300 switched lanes and accelerated, the car in front of the Lexus SUV also switched lanes simultaneously. As a result, the Lexus SUV performed an e-brake to prevent rear-ending the car in front of it. Unfortunately, the lorry travelling behind the Lexus SUV could not react in time and rear-ended the Lexus SUV with a significant amount of impact, shattering its rear window. It is noteworthy that the lorry was not travelling above the speed limit, nor was it speeding, as the lorry alarm could not be heard throughout the video. Netizens' Comments If you're a defensive driver, I am pretty sure you will have enough time to brake. Well said, sir!👏 Technically, the lorry is allowed to be on lane 2 of the expressway. But regardless, "Yes you can travel as fast as the other cars at 80-90kmh but can you stop as fast as other cars too?" is a very valid point for consideration. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. I'm not saying there are supernatural forces behind this incident, but it's not improbable. With the cam car travelling in Lane 1 and the lorry travelling on Lane 2, the video starts with the cam car diagonally behind the heavy vehicle on the PIE. As both vehicles manoeuvre around a bend, the cam car promptly overtakes the lorry. This explains the change in perspective throughout the video. As if something had possessed the vehicle, the lorry suddenly skids to the left. The driver counters the skid by turning the wheel to his right. Luckily, no vehicles were between the cam car and the taxi behind it, leaving a vast space open for the lorry to enter. Due to the inertia from the sudden right turn, the back of the vehicle forcefully swings out. The driver then turns his wheel to the left, resulting in the vehicle performing a 180-degree spin, reminiscent of those served by ballerinas at a recital. The vehicle ends up back onto Lane 2. Towards the end, the back of the lorry slams against the front of a moving shipping truck in Lane 3. Honestly, with that kind of stunt, it is definitely a miracle that the lorry driver managed to avoid a potentially fatal collision. Netizens' reactions Several netizens commended the driver for his quick thinking and amazing skills at handling a skidding lorry, while others seemed to speculate possible reasons behind the sudden skid. He was so quick to react too! Judging from the video, it is not certain if the lorry was speeding on that day. Seeing how easily the cam car overtook the vehicle, I would not be that quick to jump on the 'lorry must have been speeding' train. Hopefully, he's alright! ======== Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Join us today!

TL:DR – An impatient lorry driver tries to beat the red light at a cross junction but ends up t-boning and wrecking a Mercedes instead. A horrific accident happened earlier today (9th Feb) at 2.23pm at Choa Chu Kang. It could have all been avoided if the lorry driver had shown some patience. Here’s the video: Rekt Not going to go into too many details, but the lorry certainly did a number on the Mercedes. If it were a lighter car, like a Honda Fit for example, it would have been flung down the bridge. How’s the driver? There are no updates about the driver or the occupants of the Mercedes, but we hope everyone’s okay. Patience please? Is it too hard to ask people to have some patience when they drive? If the lorry driver had just waited for a minute or two, this could have all been avoided. Online Chatter Interesting theory. Might be true. Right? I agree. Cross-junctions have and always will be a dangerous section of any road. It is essentially an intersection with the most concentrated traffic, which poses additional hazards to road users. One such hazard is being a victim to vehicles that beat the red light, such as this one: What Happened? This unfortunate accident took place at a cross-junction along Boon Lay Drive. Firstly, let's take a look at an overview of the location below: Upon the green light signal, a ComfortDelgro taxi on the left lane, intending to travel straight, gradually approached the junction. Just then, a lorry from the right beat the red light and smashed head-first into the driver-side of the taxi. The lorry was travelling at a relatively fast speed as it seemed to have gone full-throttle and accelerated in an attempt to beat the red light "successfully". NGL, the impact of the collision was a rather strong one. Both vehicles came to a complete halt moments later, after striking a kerb. A Sitting Duck The taxi was essentially a sitting duck that had no way of mitigating the danger posed by the oncoming lorry. Despite the traffic signal that indicated it was clear for the taxi to proceed, its view of the oncoming lorry was completely obstructed by another lorry on the discretionary right turn lane beside it. Be it to perform an emergency brake or swerve; it was almost impossible for any driver to have responded in such a situation. Here's wishing the taxi driver and all those involved in the accident a speedy recovery! Netizens' Comments GWS😰 Tell me about it. Especially all those commercial driving on lane 1 of the expressways🙄 The last time I checked, being a victim of an accident is not a good thing. "Red light stop, green light go" is a basic and universal traffic rule. Heck. Even if you live under a rock, the viral Netflix show 'Squid Game' would have taught you otherwise. Sadly, two 'ah-bengs' and one of their 'zha-bor' simply couldn't understand this simple traffic rule and got into multiple confrontations with a lorry driver. Watch it here: What Happened? Two 'ah-bengs' and a woman blatantly jaywalked in front of oncoming traffic at Victoria Road. The lorry they obstructed honked them for their blatant disregard for road safety. And boy, oh boy, did that honk shatter both their fragile ego. Compensating For Their Shattered Ego Both 'ah-bengs' immediately gestured at the lorry driver with their hands to signal to the lorry driver, "What's your problem?!" 'Ah-beng' #1 in the long pants, then threw a lit cigarette at the lorry, but it rebounded and hit him in the face. Meanwhile, ah-beng' #2 in shorts made an intimidating action of wanting to 'rush' towards the lorry, only to be held back by his 'zha-bor'. As the lorry drove down the road slowly, 'ah-beng' #1 continued walking alongside the lorry while shouting at the driver. Just then, he suddenly jumps and attempts to spit inside the lorry, only to lose his balance and fall ass-first onto the road. NGL, it is hilarious that he acts all tough but can't do something as simple as jumping without falling over. The lorry driver then proceeded to stop at the curbside and settle with those uncouth beings. Unfortunately, what happened afterwards remain unknown, as the video ends after the lorry driver opens his door. A Lesson To Learn A takeaway from this incident would be to get yourself a woman who stops you from doing stupid shit. Unless, of course, your woman is a 'Karen' like the one in this viral incident: In that case, GLHF! You might end up getting arrested for doing stupid shit like the Bentley driver. Are you familiar with those 'guai lan' drivers that speed up to prevent you from changing lanes or merging by blocking you on purpose? I swear this type of driver infuriates me. Watch this video and witness an 'instant karma' moment for one such driver: What Happened? The accident occurred along the Seletar Expressway (SLE). The cam vehicle was travelling on lane 3, the left-most lane of SLE. Despite a white Subaru Forester attempting to merge into SLE, the cam vehicle decided not to give a hoot about the white SUV and continued travelling alongside it. As the Subaru driver sped up to merge in front of the cam vehicle, the cam vehicle 'coincidentally' accelerated too. This manoeuvre by the cam vehicle prevented the Subaru SUV from merging into the SLE and forced the SUV to drive on the road shoulder before merging onto the SLE. Instant Karma in 3, 2, 1... After witnessing the Subaru's alarming actions, the lorry in front of the cam vehicle panic-braked in a moment of folly. As a result, the cam vehicle could not react in time and ended up 'kissing' the back of the lorry. If you consider the height and angle of the dashcam, the cam vehicle is likely to be a commercial vehicle. Therefore, I highly question the actions of the cam vehicle. Is there a need to be so 'guai lan'??? Look what it got you - Your just desserts. Oh, don't forget those repair fees and demerit points as well! Netizens' Comments Cam vehicle driver post online to show it's the Subaru's fault due to it driving on the road shoulder and its tinted tail lights😰 What a way to start the new year! Yishun Dam is a well-known spot for two things - a scenic place to 'lepak' and an accident hotspot. Watch a near-miss freak accident caught on dashcam here: What Happened? It was any other usual day for the cam car, cruising along lane 1 of Yishun Dam towards Yishun Ave 1. A black lorry from the opposite direction mounted the kerb out of the blue. As a result, it almost caused a head-on collision with the Lexus in front of the cam car. At this juncture, both the quick-thinking Lexus driver and cam car performed a sudden evasive manoeuvre to avoid getting swiped by the lorry. However, in the process, the Lexus driver seems to have contacted the motorcycle on its left. From the footage, it is not clear if the lorry managed to dismount the kerb on its own afterwards. Netizens' Comments Undeniably true. NGL the Lexus driver does have a splendid reaction time 👏 MMMM...interesting theory. I must admit that this has never crossed my mind. Transformers used to be every kid's dream toy back in the good old days – what's not to love when it's based an innovative combination between cars and robots? The driver of a prime mover seemed to be stuck in his dream as he re-enacted a scene you would probably see in a Transformers movie. What Happened? The cam car was driving along Kian Teck Avenue when he witnessed this horrifying accident between a prime mover and a lorry. Just as the cam car and lorry was passing by a junction, a prime mover emerged from Kian Teck Drive and smashed headfirst into the side of the lorry. The impact was so great that it caused the lorry to topple over to its side. Luckily, there seemed to be no passengers in the back of the lorry. Below is a clearer view of the accident location: It was clear as day that the prime mover driver disregarded the stop-line and assumed he had the right of way since he was travelling straight. Playing the Devil's Advocate? Nope, don't start on the "it is partly LTA's fault because they did not maintain the road signage which caused the stop-line to be faded". Regardless of how faded it is, the stop-line remains visible to any road user, and this suffices. The fault lies entirely on the prime mover driver. The Outcome of the Accident At this point, it remains unknown if anyone was seriously injured in this accident. Nonetheless, we wish anyone involved in this accident the best of health and a speedy recovery. Netizens' Comments Indeed. It has an uncanny resemblance to Transformers... Nicolas Cage, is that you? What went down On 17th May 2021, a ghost lorry was spotted rolling across Yio Chu Kang Road without a driver and crashing into the barricade across the street. If you'd like to see the full video, you can check it out here. Anyways, when I first saw this clip, my initial reaction was: But afterwards, I realised that there is a possibility that the lorry might not have had its handbrake engaged while its being parked. Even so, why would one leave a heavy vehicle alone in the middle of the road? Where is the driver? Is the lorry meant to be there in the first place? Luckily, there were no traffic or pedestrians in sight when this incident happened. Netizens' reactions While there is no information yet on where the driver was or why the lorry was left alone, it didn't take long for netizens to joke about this being the new 'driver-less' or autonomous vehicle in Singapore. Maybe it's another one of Elon Musk's experiments. I mean, the 7th month is approaching soon LOL. I think this is the most plausible explanation as well. What do you think? Is this due to a forgetful driver or is there another 'force of nature' behind this?

Someone should contact Universal and hire this lorry uncle for their next movie. What went down Click here for the full video: https://www.facebook.com/roadssg/videos/375107703849837 On 5th May 2021 at 5:46 pm, a lorry driver attempted to tap his brakes as he sped through the BKE expressway. Instead of slowing down, the vehicle unexpectedly spun out of control and ended up facing against traffic. And if that wasn't scary enough, things nearly went south for both the motorcyclist and the dash-cam driver as the lorry stops abruptly. They managed to stop their vehicles just in time to avoid a one-way ticket to heaven. It was speculated that the driver was speeding with balding or worn-out tyres – something that should have been checked and fixed by the driver or the company before the vehicle hits the open road. How do I know if my tyres are worn out? According to this guide, it shows how vehicle tyres would look like under certain conditions, of which all of them would increase tyre wear faster than normal. Although I’m unsure if the lorry’s tyres were misaligned or wrongly inflated, it is always important for drivers to inspect their tyre pressure and threads once every few weeks on top of the mandatory yearly check. Netizens' reactions As always, several netizens rushed to the comments section to voice their concerns about the incident and to praise the driver for stopping in time. I would have shat my pants even if I were driving in another lane! What do you think? How often do you check your own tyres?

Lorry driver changes lanes without signalling or checking blindspots, causes Pizza Hut delivery rider to slip and fall to avoid collision. Wishing rider speedy and full recovery. Happened along Thomson Road on 12/01/2021." My first thought: What exactly is it about turn signal / indicators that makes them so difficult to use?! Whenever an incident occurs, only the first party would know what exactly happened, however, some Facebook users felt that the lorry driver wasn't in the wrong: Indeed, when you take a closer look, it does seem like the slippery white line on the road might have contributed to the Pizza Hut delivery rider's loss of control of the bike. Whether the delivery rider fell because of the slippery road conditions, he was forced to react in a split second (likely after a long tiring day of riding in the rain)to save his own life, all because the lorry driver didn't felt the need to use his signals. At the end of the day, we should always be considerate on the road, nobody can read your mind, if you want to make a turn or lane change, is it really that much to expect everyone to use their signals?- 1 comment

There's a difference between vengeance and self defence. Blockheads who don't know the difference will be educated in court. And the only reason these spandex heroes are so garang is because they're basically anonymous. Make visible registration compulsory and their balls and ego will shrivel right up, along with their keenness to destroy other people's property to vent their outrage.

T-boned lorry sends its passengers tumbling on the road!

Unlike our previous blog post, this is neither weird nor uncommon. Unfortunately. Shot earlier today from an unknown camera vehicle, a red light-beating mini lorry which was carrying an unspecified number of passengers at the back, flipped when a taxi smashed into it. The accident happened at the junction of Tanjong Katong South and Mountbatten road with the driver of the Transcab taxi appearing fazed but unhurt. The video, which was post by SG Road Vigilante, did not mention what injuries there were and how many were hurt but we could see at least two passengers emerging from rear of the lorry after it was on its side. Obviously, this was the fault of the lorry driver and the netizens wasted no time slamming him online. One of them even put up a good point on why are people still allowed to sit on the rear of lorries where there are no seat belts. We wish everyone who was hurt in the accident a speedy recovery. -
Another day and another careless driver. Today, we have for you guys an accident that happened at the junction of Orchard Road and Buyong Road. As seen from the photo, a SMRT cab has collided with a Nissan truck which in turn has flipped over. We hope those involved in the accident are alright as of press time, though there is currently no news on whether there are any injuries or not. 8e96337c-f950-4b82-a6ef-90577e45cdbc.MP4 From the video, we can understand a bit better what caused the truck to flip over. That said, we have no idea why the taxi slowly crept forward into the junction although the lights did not turn green. We did note that his brake lights weren't on all when he came into frame, suggesting to us that he could have fallen asleep at the wheel, letting the car roll forward into traffic.

Biker manages a narrow escape from a truck trying to escape the police!

With everyone encouraged to stay home due to the ongoing coronavirus , life must be quiet dull for most. However, we are pretty sure the motorcyclist at the traffic light didn't find his last friday bland at all... 92a4c569-89c1-4c7c-81f8-f298494e1650.MP4 Shot in an unknown heavy vehicle, the footage clearly shows a wild white truck doing a quick lane change at a traffic junction that has just turned red along Jurong Town Hall Road. From the video, we thought the poor biker would be bulldozed by the truck but amazingly, the truck managed to avoid crashing into it! Seconds later, viewers can see a police car coming to a stop abruptly with its tyres screeching on the bottom of the video, suggesting to us that the white truck might have been running away from the cops. According to the comments on Complaint Singapore, the police were apparently trying to arrest the driver in the truck and this was a drug-related case. Maybe more should heed this netizen's comment whereby it is better to stop in front of a vehicle that has already come to a complete stop at the lights... -
