  1. Got any effect on the rest of lorong or not? The Urban Redevelopment Authority has proposed to rezone the area bounded by Geylang Road, Lorong 22 Geylang, Guillemard Road and Lorong 4 Geylang from Residential/Institution to Commercial/Institution so as to prevent "spillover of disamenities to surrounding areas".
  2. A report has been filed with the Singapore Police Force.. here is the transcript: A white colour Honda Jazz SGNxxxxx did an illegal U-Turn on Lorong Chuan (towards Serangoon Garden Way). When being horned of his dangerous driving by the oncoming vehicle, the arrogant Honda Jazz driver attempted to jam the brakes to intimidate the other driver. - Illegal U-Turn on Lorong Chuan (which is a very narrow & busy road) - Dangerous driving - Driving without due care http://youtu.be/rDz33ZVLEXE?list=UUOTD3GWp-_Hya2oyjN5G-jQ http://youtu.be/rDz33ZVLEXE
  3. A video showing cameras and what seems to be flashing LED lights on an overhead bridge at Geylang Lorong 16 has caught the attention of netizens online. Some have speculated that the cameras are a new ERP system, while others thought it was a speed camera. The authorities have clarified that the cameras are actually one of the initiatives under the Safe City Test Bed Project announced in May. The project is a partnership between the government and the industry to develop technology that will allow urban cities to optimise resources and better coordinate responses to safety and security threats, urban management concerns and major crises. In this case, the system attempts to integrate existing and new sensors to help agencies have a better understanding of what is happening on the ground. For example, authorities would be able to detect an impending flash flood and decide on possible counter measures, while emergency vehicles could monitor traffic conditions on the road to identify the best route to take should there be traffic congestion. The prototypes, once developed, will be showcased as a model to manage the increasingly complex challenges faced by developed urban cities in a resource-efficient manner. 5. This morning just visited the newly market. More stalls and better layout compared to previously. I tried the Hakka suan pan zhi and glutinous rice. Though I have not tried the authentic ones but these 2 dishes are very delicious, taste like homemade. Kopi C from this chinese version of Toastbox (besides a stall selling bak chor mee) really oomph (aromatic and full bodied) but must ask for siew dai. Min jian kueh is so-so. Prawn noodle just besides the "corridor" is also worth trying but must try $3 cos $2.50 very little. Spotted Q formed at bak chor mee, beef noodle and prawn noodle. Will try this market soon. For those who have tried this market, perhaps, can share which stalls worth checking out
  6. Just pumped petrol there. Kinda suprised there's 16% discount for HSBC card only for this particular station. Promotion till end of June. Not bad.
