What is wrong? Another food poisoning case. SINGAPORE - In yet another case of food poisoning, 131 people have fallen ill after consuming food from a caterer. The victims included Kindergarten 2 pupils and teachers who were attending a learning camp. In a joint statement, the National Environmental Agency (NEA), Ministry of Health (MOH) and Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) said that they were investigating an outbreak of gastroenteritis traced to the consumption of food prepared by FoodTalks Caterer & Manufacturer, located at Shimei East Kitchen in Bedok on Monday (Nov 26). As of Tuesday, 131 cases of gastroenteritis have been reported. None of the victims have been hospitalised. MOH, NEA and AVA conducted a joint inspection of the caterer's premises on Tuesday. As part of the investigations, food handlers were sent for stool screening, and food and environmental samples were taken for testing, the agencies said. According to Chinese daily Lianhe Zaobao, the food poisoning victims had attended a learning camp organised by Busy Bees Asia. It is the third in a series of high-profile food-poisoning incidents that have occurred in the last month.

Kindergarten school bus carrying kids crashes through barrier and into other vehicles A school bus carrying nine students from Glory Kindergarten crashed through a barrier near Pei Hwa Presbyterian Primary School near Upper Bukit Timah Road. The incident, which happened around noon on Tuesday, saw the bus hitting two stationary vehicles and a bicycle. School principal Mrs Helen Chua told The Straits Times that the bus driver was making his way out of the kindergarten grounds when he appeared to lose control of his vehicle, which ploughed through the fence straight ahead instead of turning right as intended. The children on board, who are aged between four and six, along with their adult bus attendant and driver escaped with "very minor injuries" such as bruises and bumps, said Mrs Chua. "Everyone had their seat belts on so that was probably what prevented something worse from happening," she added, noting that it is the first time such an incident has happened with any of the school's transportation services. The bus driver is understood to be a male in his late 40s with a clean driving record and an employee of one of the school's longtime bus service vendors. Police investigations are ongoing. Wah lau eh, what's going on nowadays..

Was casually flipping the papers until I reached the forum page this morning. Normally I would just give the titles a cursory glance to see if there are any worth reading & today one of them seemed to warrant some attention as the title sugggested concerns on kindergarten food, which my 3-year old relies on daily in his childcare. Nearly choked on my food when the portion highlighted in blue popped up: http://www.straitstimes.com/STForum/Online...ory_630377.html Kindergarten food concern I AM a parent of a child studying at Radin Mas PAP Community Foundation kindergarten. I thought schools in Singapore are trying to promote healthy eating, but my child's school serves mostly biscuits during snack time. And each child is given about six pieces each time. Given the duration of four hours in school, how filling can the six biscuits be? If it is not biscuits, it would be a hotdog bun. Occasionally, they are given cake. A few parents checked with the teachers and the answer they were given was that the general election (GE) was coming. The room with a pantry and a stove has been locked up for some time because of the GE, so they have not been able to cook macaroni, which is what the pupils got to eat at least once a week before. I hope the relevant authorities will look into the healthy eating habits of pupils. Cecilia Teo (Ms) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Was most certainly sure someone of authority would stoutly deny the above claims later. Just interesting to know that the GE fever seems to be spreading but our country's top honcho is still keeping mum. Even kindergartens also not spared & getting involved in the frenzy....

Hi all, Anyone put your child at Q-Dees Kindergarten? the school will have music & dance/ concert performance soon at replubic polytechnic. What surprising is, the school not allow the parent to bring camera/ video camera. Already need pay for the ticket per adult, still need (optional) to pay $35 for entire event film in DVD. Sure 100% all parents will pay that $35 film, but is that the way, they earn money? Hope bro here can give your genuine opinion about that school policy.

My daughter's favourite teacher has left for her kindergarten class. The new teacher is young and inexperienced who doesn't seems to be competent. She told me that she will be the permanent teacher for long. I have heard positive feedbacks on Church kindergarten. Anyone has any recommendation for those in North? Thanks everyone.
