  1. Have anyone test driven the FY24 Carnival - seems like a pretty nice MPV.
  2. Just saw advertisement about the 2024 Santa Fe coming up, anyone registered interest for the sneak preview too? On the other hand, heard from KIA SA that the Sorento may be coming out this June/july.
  3. Beauty is in the eye of beholder. The new look is too much a change for me, especially the odd looking C-pillar. OK I boomer, @RadX say one. Other than these few photos, Kia did not reveal any specification of the new Cerato replacement, which is schedule to debut on March 27, at the New York Auto Show.
  4. JOHOR BARU: A 42-year-old Singaporean is in critical condition with serious burns to his body after he set himself on fire near a petrol station in Century Gardens here yesterday. The victim, whose name was withheld pending investigations, suffered 100 per cent burns to his body and is being warded at Sultanah Aminah Hospital. Investigations revealed that the victim had used a four-litre petrol container to buy fuel from the station on the pretext that his car had broken down at about 9.20am. Following that, he walked away from the petrol station while dousing himself with the petrol. Johor Baru Selatan police chief Assistant Commissioner Sulaiman Salleh said the victim then set himself on fire with a cigarette lighter. "Then the victim, who was in flames, started running to a nearby hotel before he fell into a drain, which was about 50m from the petrol station." Sulaiman said members of the public had immediately called for an ambulance to take him to hospital. He confirmed the victim was in critical condition following the burns he suffered. Sulaiman said police were investigating the cause of the incident as well as identifying the victim's family, with assistance from the Singapore consulate's office here.
  5. The distance cousin of Hyundai Ioniq 5. Basing on the silhouette seen below, it look like a sportier version of Ioniq 5. I like! Hyundai inaugurated the E-GMP platform dedicated to electric vehicles a couple of weeks ago with the Ioniq 5 and now sister brand Kia is about to unveil the EV6 riding on the same underpinnings. The zero-emissions model is the firm's first EV to adopt the latest design language and adopts the new nomenclature that will be used by future dedicated electric cars, as small as the EV1 and as large as the EV9. Much like the Ioniq 5, it takes the shape of a crossover and a dedicated page on Kia UK's site mentions the design is derived from the 2019 Imagine concept. It looks nothing like other production models from the South Korean brand and has the typically short overhangs you'd expect from a dedicated EV. It will be able to cover more than 483Km and will only take 18 minutes to charge the battery from 10 to 80 percent, which is the same thing we can say about the Ioniq 5. Should you be in a hurry, four minutes of charging equate to 100Km of range. 0 to 100Km/h will take only 3.5 seconds, which is quite interesting considering the quickest and most powerful Ioniq 5 of the bunch does the job in 5.2 seconds. EVs don't excel in terms of top speed and it should be the same story with the EV6, although it seems to be sportier than the Hyundai version, which is capped at 185 Km/h regardless of configuration.
  6. Car debuts later in Paris. Korean automaker KIA has updated its mid-size SUV model, the Sorento. The nameplate is a stalwat among leasing customers because of versatile seatings and a high-riding stance. Engines lined up for the new car are expected to include two gasoline lumps, a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder and a 3.3 V6.
  7. Have to say that Kia is really stepping up the game. Basing on these silhouette shots, I think it 同父异母 (same father different mother) sibling, Hyundai Tucson, has no fight... The official teaser campaign for the 2022 Kia Sportage has begun. The new Sportage will be officially unveiled on 8 June 2021,which is exactly 1 week from now.
  8. Lo and behold! sgCarMart kickstarted its very own SGCARMART REVIEWS on the 3rd of November with the new Mercedes-Benz CLA with Julian from the Editorial Department (some of you may find him familiar from MCF events) and cool kid James from Marketing. 9. Hi folks. Is it too early to replace my 2 year old tyre? This was from the previous owner of my car that was fitted with a Yokohama BluEarth-Es ES3. It kinda still look OK and have grip even in wet road but it is still a 2yr old tyre so kinda bugs me. Any thoughts if I need to replace it soon? I'n considering in moving up to 17" rims also if I'm going to replace.
  10. Kia Concept EV9 if officially previewed as a large and boxy electric SUV. This EV9 Concept will be officially unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show on 17 Nov 2021, together with the Hyundai Seven Concept (preview of the upcoming Ioniq 7).
  11. All-new 2019 Kia Forte unveiled at North American International Auto Show. http://www.motortrend.com/cars/kia/forte/2019/2019-kia-forte-first-look-review/ https://www.kiamedia.com/us/en/media/pressreleases/13438/all-new-2019-forte-makes-world-debut-at-north-american-international-auto-show1
  12. Kia's rapidly evolving lineup and inroads into the Thai market mark it as an inspiring beacon for all as we transition into an age of sustainable mobility. 80 years may seem like a long length of time for an outside observer, but it could also be just the right amount of time for a future-oriented firm like Kia to get warmed up. With the Korean brand embarking on ambitious changes to its lineup and making new inroads into nearby Thailand as it marks its 80th anniversary this 2024, Kia's illustrious history now looks set to become but a prelude to a dramatic new chapter as it readies for a new and brighter tomorrow. We look at just what new changes are underway at Kia as it makes its transition into a future sustainable mobility solutions provider. A new plan for an exciting future Kia is marking its 80th anniversary this 2024. This time has already seen the firm transforming from a bicycle manufacturer to the automotive leader that it currently is. But Kia is not content to rest on its laurels: Four years ago, the firm revealed its 'Plan S', a mid to long-term strategy that included a host of ambitious goals which has since been updated to include a targeted electric vehicle lineup that comprises a total of 15 models which is planned to take up a total of 37% of all of Kia's sales and targeted to reach 1.6 million units, all by 2030. The firm is additionally aiming to increase the proportion of recycled plastic used in its vehicles to 20%, and to reach carbon neutrality by 2045. New moves into a nearby country And it isn't all just about changing the way we travel or working towards decarbonisation at Kia. The firm has ambitious goals to expand its presence here in our region as well. Kia Sales has already made its official debut in Thailand in January 2024, and just like Kia on the global stage, Kia Sales Thailand is ambitious. The firm plans to secure a total of 5% of Thailand's passenger car market - with 50% of these sales to be accounted for by all-electric vehicles by 2028. The firm is additionally planning to rank in the top five in Thailand for brand awareness, and this goal is already being kickstarted with Kia Sales' first participation in the Bangkok International Motor Show this year. The motor show not only offered a chance for Kia to present its updated corporate identity, but also to launch the new Kia EV5 in the country, just months after the car made its international debut in October 2023. An enticing new product to entice a future-oriented family And on the topic of new models, Kia also has an enticing new lineup designed to win buyers over and to propel its ambitious goals. Take, for example, the Kia EV9 which was recently launched here in Singapore. The all-electric SUV which embraces the firm's new 'Opposites United' design philosophy, which is manifested on this SUV in its strong and boxy exterior and also houses the car's attractive new star-map head lights. While on the inside, the Kia EV9 offers family-ferrying ability, being able to ferry six. Passengers here will also be able to opt for either Kia's Relaxation Seats - which allow all to recline and relax while the vehicle is charging up - or the Swivel Seats, so those in the second and third row can engage in face-to-face conversations while on the way to their next destination. Your family will additionally be kept safe, thanks to the car's suite of advanced driver assistance systems which include Auto Evasive Steering Assist, Junction Crossing, and Junction Turning, amongst others. And underneath all this is Kia's E-GMP electric vehicle platform which allows the SUV to post a range of 512km courtesy of its sizeable 99.8kWh battery. And one to win the hearts of the masses as well But for those looking for something a little more compact, Kia also has a new EV5, which is based on the same platform that underpins the EV9 but measures in at just 4,615mm long, which makes it right-sized for any urban environment including the roads of Singapore and Bangkok. Designed to bring all-electric mobility to all, the Kia EV5 offers a claimed class-leading leg room and head room for those in the second row despite the compact exterior, and those constantly on the move are sure to also appreciate the fact that the car comes with a centre console which can double as either a heater or cooler for your drinks. And just like the EV9, the Kia EV5 will also be offered with the brand's latest Advanced Driver Assistance Systems and can be charged up from 30% to 80% capacity in just 27 minutes. Exciting times ahead With so many initiatives planned, exactly what a firm like Kia will look like 80 years from today is anybody's guess. But there is little doubt that the firm has already forged astonishing progress since its founding so many years ago. Both its EV9 and EV5 already place it in good stead to tackle the upcoming challenges of electrification and to meet the varied mobility needs of a future generation. And the firm has already seen sales of its electrified vehicles account for 37.9% of its total sales in Europe in 2023, a 9% increase over the previous year. Add the fact that the firm's lineup is set to be further bolstered by two additional models - the EV3 and EV4 - and Kia's place in the future automotive realm, within the foreseeable future, is only set to grow larger. Truly, moves that serve as an inspiration for all. Find out more about Kia's lineup here!

  15. Following sister car Hyundai Kona's launch, Kia pulled the wraps off the Stonic, their version of the compact crossover. Personally, I prefer the look of this over the Kona although it's clear that the Stonic looks just like a raised up Rio hatchback with an identical interior as the Rio too.
  16. Tohto

  19. Anyone can advice. Asking for friend. The Kia Seltos and price is similar to Citroen C4 yet comes with no safety tech. May i know why is people still choosing Kia Seltos? For a similar price and car size segment, is there something similar with comprehensive safety tech and value for money for us to consider?
  20. Darn! my less than a year old Kia hit by stone again on NSH. There's a small star crack at the center bottom of the windscreen. Should I repair it or just send to Kia to file for claim to change it?
  21. Kia has only begun putting its next-generation Sorento SUV on the road last month, when a heavily camouflaged prototype was spotted testing alongside a BMW X5 – not a bad benchmark vehicle at all. Today, we can show you a considerably less shy prototype, roaming the Nurburgring Nordschleife wearing Recaro racing seats and tighter-fitting foil, allowing us to better gauge its design language and overall dimensions. Less fussy design The 2019 Sorento isn’t exactly the cleanest-looking SUV in its segment. It has a lot of curvy design elements that seem to be squeezed together tightly in order to create a somewhat modern aesthetic. So what does Kia have planned for an encore? Apparently something with a sharper yet simpler design, featuring a more boxy front end plus a very ProCeed-like window line that curves upwards toward the tailgate. As for the rear end, the cutout on this prototype only tells half the story, as the taillights don’t appear to be horizontal anymore. Instead, it almost looks like they feature a boomerang design that extends onto the fenders. Of course, whether or not that’s the case, we still can’t say for certain. Also read: 2020 Kia Seltos Unveiled As The Company’s New Small SUV For Global Markets Meanwhile, we’re still not ready to give up on this render from last month, especially since there are a lot of common front fascia (thin headlights, grille design) and shoulder line features to speak of. As for what the new Sorento will be like to drive, we expect more efficient powertrains and better dynamics, while improved driver assistance and convenience technologies remain a given. Kia will probably launch its next-generation Sorento sometime next year as a 2021 model.
  22. The 2020 Kia Telluride Three-Row SUV Is Big, Boxy, and Bold https://www.caranddriver.com/news/2020-kia-telluride-three-row-suv-photos-info Kia is going big with its new Telluride three-row SUV, both literally and figuratively. It will be the biggest crossover in Kia’s lineup, positioned above the (also three-row) Sorento. Upon this larger canvas Kia has painted bold styling that deviates little from that of the bold Telluride concept car from a few years ago. Final details are forthcoming, but Kia says the Telluride is several inches longer and wider than the Sorento. It’ll hold up to eight people, while the Sorento can only hold seven between its two front seats, three-across second-row bench, and its admittedly tight two-place third-row seat. That means you can expect the Telluride's third row to accommodate three humans, although don't rule out a seven-seat version with captain's chairs in the second row. Beyond its extra size, the Telluride also is far more distinctive than the Sorento, with interesting head- and taillight designs and a boxy, truck-like silhouette. Disregard a few of the custom off-road-y bits seen on this particular vehicle—including all-terrain tires, beefy bumpers, an intake snorkel, a roof rack, and a hatch-mounted spare tire—as it’s simply a modified version of the production car debuting at New York Fashion Week. The Kia's styling is so truck-like and bold, in fact, that you could be forgiven for thinking it's an old-school, body-on-frame SUV along the lines of Chevrolet's Tahoe or GMC's Yukon. Nonetheless, we suspect that the Telluride rides on a front-wheel-drive-based unibody platform, likely one that will be shared with a new three-row Hyundai SUV rumored to be called the Palisade. That it will be built at the same Georgia plant where Kia assembles the unibody Sorento serves as more evidence against the idea that this SUV is body-on-frame like the Borrego SUV that Kia sold for a brief while about ten years ago. Kia says the Telluride will use a V-6 engine but offers no specifics beyond that, leaving us guessing as to whether it'll be the same naturally aspirated 3.3-liter found in the Sorento or possibly a more powerful twin-turbocharged version of the same engine like that in the Stinger. An eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive seem like sure bets, at least. Inside, the Fashion Week–ified Telluride boasts a few unique bits of trim, including special leather and wood trim that won’t see production. Otherwise, the cabin isn’t likely to change all that much before it goes on sale early next year. Some spy pictures.
  23. Yishun once again being Singapore’s Florida. What happened? An elderly driver in a Kia Picanto lost control in a multi-storey car park and crashed into a group of parked motorbikes. We can see that the bikes in question in the Facebook post are in a pile together, with varying levels of damage How did that red one end up there sia? There was also a motorbike just randomly lying on the ground away from the group. I doubt this was intentional because the bikes aren't absolutely wrecked, though how the bikes ended up where they are does makes me go "????". How do you crash into bikes and make them pile up on top of each other, accidentally? Online chatter There were of course plenty of Yishun comments. Others blamed the eldelry person and used this as a point to show that the elderly are not fit for driving. As someone with a grandma who can drive, I can tell you this is not the case. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community.
