End of an era: Kenny Rogers Roasters at Great World City will serve its last meal on Apr 14 We, as a nation of foodies, have moved on to bigger trends and better chains. Which is probably why mediocre international brands like Chili’s, Pablo Cheese Tart, and Dazzling Cafe gave it their best shot but ultimately didn’t make the cut when it comes to longevity in Singapore. On the heels of their exit from our shores, it looks like once-popular rotisserie Kenny Rogers Roasters may soon follow suit. The American restaurant chain, which opened here in 1994, used to see crowds of diners hungry for roasted chicken and corn muffins flock to its outlets. But it appears to have quietly closed down several spots in the last couple years. Apparently, at least according to the Singapore Atrium Sale Facebook page, the Great World City branch is its last, and it’s shuttering after one final day of operations on April 14. In a notice at the outlet, the management Pacific Utama thanked customers for their “patronage all these years” and notified them of the impending closure. No confirmation yet if the brand is permanently leaving Singapore, but with the Suntec City and Novena ones already gone, it seems the future could be dire for country music star Kenny Roger’s restaurant. In the online sphere, netizens have been lamenting the exit of yet another nostalgic spot, so perhaps the venue could see a spike in customers just before it closes this Sunday.

I have said before that Kenny might be sacked end of season when top 4th finish was out of grasp. Sadly, it came true. FSG must have the balls of steel to sack a legend in the eyes of all Liverpool fans worldwide. However, it is also such firm decision that gives me the assurance that the owners do mean business. Credit to King Kenny, though utterly disappointed, he carried himself like a true legend after the sacking. He asked fans not to jump to any conclusion as the owners must have their reasons for doing what they did. He urged the board and fans to support the new guy like how they had supported him. That leads to the next question. Who is the new guy? Whoever now can tell you for sure who he is going to be, is pure bullocks. Even FSG do not know. They have set forth their criteria and those who met it, will be invited for an interview. From what I have gathered, 2 candidates have already been invited. FSG are looking for one who will be able to take on the project long term, probably 5 years or more. They want the person to have necessary credential, meaning to have won major trophies in his management career. They want someone who has the passion, the hunger and the determination to carry out their plan - to bring glory back to Liverpool. Based on the above, only 3 persons whom I think meet the criteria and willing to take on the job come to mind - Andrea Villas-Boas, Jurgen Klopp and Rafa Benitez. Let's hope I will not be too far off on this one. Each one of them is a worthy replacement in my opinion. Lastly, I shall leave you with the wishes from Suarez, which I believe echoed many Liverpool fans and those associated with the club: "KENNY thank you very much for all your help and things I learned from you during 1 year and a half! A big hug and good luck!!"

You guys still remember Kenny G? His music was so popular last time even go toilet also can hear. Then there was also Richard Clayderman and Yanni. I wonder what happened to all of them? Nowadays nobody likes instrumental anymore?
