Sky8807 and the rest of the Skodians here. Just thought I create a new thread for those of you who wants to discuss how we shld handle the local distributor. Seansene! Tks for dropping by as well. Hope you will get your silver Fabia in February smoothly. Latest rumour is that Thomas Lim in the workshop has left and is looking for a new job. The last I met Thomas was with Sky8807 and Thomas joked that he will be looking for a job. Both of us did not take him seriously and even though the truth is not clear, my sixth sense tells me he is indeed leaving the company. For those non-Skodians, Thomas is one of the 3 brothers running JTA and Thomas is in charge of the aftersales service. I must compliment Thomas for a job well done and his departure if true shld better be matched with a more capable replacement. So far, JTA has shown great resilence in the face of so much troubles in the recent 3 months. I admire the owners for their persistence to stay afloat. Until today, my Fabia is still trembling and vibrating at idling and JTA Thomas told me a recall will be made in Feb 2002 (after 8 months of my complaining and whining) to change a part relating to the gearbox. I remain very very sceptical - what has the gear box got to do with the vbrations? - Thomas, if you are leaving, will you still honour that commitment? - We collected our Fabias w/o the central locks and had to wait for 3 months for it, despite telling us every other day its coming soon. JTA has cry wolf too many times and I am numbed liao.

Got this from Skoda HQ site: This is the second mail from me to Skoda! I am Yxx Bxx Kxxx, the vehicle owner of Fabia Comfort 1.4l (Chassis Nos TMBNC46Y313210559 and engine number AUA 185532) in Singapore. My vehicle had already been serviced on 5 different occasions by the local distributor, JTA Motors Pte Ltd, in Singapore. However, my car is still encountering stalling problems. My vehicle tends to stall even it is in a moving condition, e.g. along expressway. Since the last stalling incident on 11/12/02, my vehicle has been in JTA Motors Pte Ltd workshop. The total number of days that my car is in `Vehicle Off Road` conditions is 52 days out of 75 days since the day I had collected my vehicle. This stalling problem had caused me great inconvenience, as I had to rely on public transport. The local distributor is fully aware of the problem but was unable to solve it to my satisfaction. My car had been in the workshop for more than a month and the ECU (Euro 2 standard) that JTA had promised to change for me had not arrived till today. Please advise me on the this issue and how can I be assured that my car will not stall after the 6th repair and the second replacement of the ECU. I had great confidence in this UK car of the year when I purchase my Fabia. I am utterly disappointed with the performance of the car as well as the after sales service. Do not hesitate to contact me for more information at (65)-XXXXXXX. Your attention in this matter will be greatly appreciated as this concerns the safety aspects of the drivers and the passengers as well as the reputation of Skoda automobiles.

Did you guys knew about this? I read it from MkIIToledo of Delphi/Seatsg. Seems like it will be a long way to Gul Ave for viewing of Skoda cars in future, unless Intraco rent or buy a smaller showroom. From BT online... "THE single biggest asset in Intraco's liquidation of Intra-Motors - a 2,500 sq m showroom at Kampong Ubi - has been sold, nearly three years after the former Rover distributor closed shop. Cycle & Carriage Fulco Motor Dealer, an agent of Cycle & Carriage Ltd, has paid the option to purchase the property vacant from the receivers. The current tenant, Skoda agent JTA Motors, is moving out by April. Neither C&C Fulco nor Cycle & Carriage would comment on the development, but a source said the deal was transacted at 'well below $5 million'. Intra-Motors claimed to have paid $10 million for the premises in 1996."

Anyone here notice that the workshop's service is going from bad to worse? The last time I was there, I already sensed that morale is low and everyone does not seemed to be too enthusiastic at all abt work. When Thomas met me and Sky8807, the first words from his mouth was "now looking for a job leh." Not a good news to the workshop.
