  1. Hmmm... CD license plate is transferable from MPV to Lorry? http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/singaporeseen/this-urban-jungle/here-comes-the-embassy-truck-that-can-break-all-traffic-rules-because-it-has
  2. By Teh Joo Lin ROMANIA sent Singapore a diplomatic note last Friday asserting that former charge d'affaires Silviu Ionescu continues to enjoy diplomatic immunity for the hit-and-run case of Dec 15. This is puzzling, said Foreign Minister George Yeo, as 'it seems to imply that Romania is now claiming that Dr Ionescu was engaged in official duties at the time of the accident and we do not understand how this can possibly be the case'. On the other hand, Romanian media reports suggest that the Romanian police may be preparing to arrest the suspended diplomat. The police there have told Interpol that they have the competence to prosecute him and they have started criminal proceedings against him.
  3. http://www.straitstimes.com/BreakingNews/S...ory_514878.html It's....another step, I guess. Or maybe less than that. Just saber rattling and such. The 'no immunity' is for in Singapore, not Romania. Still, no real end in sight. Same situation as before, can't do anything since no extradition agreement. Besides, seems that S'pore still has not officially seek a waiver of his immunity. Meh.
  4. A RESIDENT at a local condominium who claimed that he was assaulted by a top Saudi Arabian diplomat on Jan 9 over a parking dispute filed charges this week 'because I expect to be protected by the law'. But the law is clear. A diplomat is immune from prosecution for all criminal acts. Singapore is a party to the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations. Under it, a diplomat and members of his household may not be arrested or detained. This case comes on the heels of another in which a Romanian diplomat was allegedly the driver of a car involved in two hit-and-run incidents last Dec 15, leaving one man dead and two others grievously injured. The diplomat left Singapore for home two days after the incidents, and has since made scurrilous attacks on the Singapore Government while refusing to come back to attend a coroner's inquiry into the death.
  5. http://www.straitstimes.com/Breaking...ry_490159.html Romania responded swiftly yesterday to a request from Singapore, lifting immunity for an embassy staff member here and distancing itself from remarks made by its former charge d'affaires over a fatal car accident last year. --PHOTO: SHIN MIN ROMANIA responded swiftly yesterday to a request from Singapore, lifting immunity for an embassy staff member here and distancing itself from remarks made by its former charge d'affaires over a fatal car accident last year. It said that since former charge d'affaires Silviu Ionescu has been suspended from his diplomatic job, it will be up to him to decide whether to return to Singapore for a coroner's inquiry next month. A Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Romanian MFA) spokesman told The Straits Times on Friday that his country would do 'everything possible in order to maintain and enhance good relations between Romania and Singapore'. The spokesman, Mr Lucian Rosenfeld, also dismissed allegations by Dr Ionescu in a recent television interview that he had been 'set up' by the Singapore Government. Romania 'firmly disassociates itself' from those accusations, Mr Rosenfeld said. Dr Ionescu has been identified as a suspect in two hit-and-run accidents last Dec 15 involving a Romanian Embassy car.
  6. Lately there have been a group of zealous people who go around listurbing other TS, giving bo liao comments and doing alot of ass out of u and me that it will become what they want to achieve, and in the end make it happen without the TS. Their stand is that the mod team in MCF has given their old friends the assurance that this is 'Lite & EZ', and they will not touch it. I have seen enough, and so have most of the people here. Could the mod team clarify whether they have indeed condone their boliao behaviour? Is it alrite to go to every posting that you are buay song and go and correct their grammar, spacing, do off-topic insiuation, etc, etc? Please make it clear so that we can have some peace here and do constructive posting. I do not want more people to repeat the sillyness, join in the fray, and ruin this forum in the process! The forum rules as below certainly do not address that: Dear all, Please be reminded of our forum guidelines. In particular, we would like to draw your attention to: Postings Slanderous, defamatory, obscene, violent, abusive, threatening and harassing comments will not be allowed. Respect the viewpoints of others, even if you may not agree with them. Agree to disagree. No profanity or obscenities of any kind. No personal attacks on other users. No political or racial comments will be allowed. No impersonation of other participants or public figures. No FULL CAPS postings. In internet, CAPS equates to shouting. Refrain from posting information which is not publicly available. No posting of number plates, unless it is your own. Respect others' privacy. No copyrighted material is allowed. Please use links instead. Please declare vested interest (if any) on the topic you are discussing No multiple postings Thank you and happy posting in MCF. Kindly make your stand clear. I do not want to flout the rules here, but the rules must be above all else, and not haphazardly applied.
