Those in the forum will see that many like to veer off topic in every threads for whatever reasons, thereby causing other users to avoid the threads thus not participating as much which is not healthy. Short of banning these people, which most likely will rid this forum of 94.3% of members, another way is for moderators to spend some time to go through each posting and tag those not related to the topic for processing later. A way to deal is to allow members to choose to read the full thread in its full glory or the 'cleansed' version for that particular thread. Some logistic works involved but I believe it will improve the ambience remarkably as we will not be seeing all the stupid bantering/bickering among members.

Of late, we have been seeing lots of trolls, NEW and some, the OLDER ones, as well as clones. Seeing that most tend to get agitated and pissed off (dun blame you). Here is how you can use the 'ignore' function to clearly EMPOWER yourself to be free of these infidels. Step 1: Click on your profile: Step 2: Find the 'IGNORE PREFERENCES' in the left side of the profile screen: Step 3: Add the said user/troll/clone that you want to ignore, in this case RADX Sep 4: Click 'SAVE CHANGES' Voila! you are done! With this, feel free from the irritations as well as the damn nonsense that comes from that POSTER Yes,please ignore me...hahahaha Hope you all will do this so that you will lessen your agitations here FOREVER, unless they change name, then come back to this thread...hahahaha PEACE

The cause of the "accident" is clear - the stupid farker was irresponsible, conceited and had a total disregard for the law. That part don't even need to say. He deserves all the punishments that hell can rain down on him and then some. What I am curious about though - to run a red light at a junction like that goes beyond contempt for the law. Given how long the light had been red, you can't seriously and honestly expect to get through that junction unscathed without an accident - and nobody wants to deliberately have an accident. So what do you think is the most likely explanation? I am split between drunk and playing with phone But would be curious what others think?

We are at the helm of some kind of activity that is coming upon us, ie Clone wars Let me again, emphasise the function of the IGNORE button. A few have used it almost successfully and thus, have been happy not to see the posts of an irritant or otherwise in their replies. Elmo and Adrianli come to mind. How to use it. Once u see a 'thing' that you think you do not want to see replies, and that it's replies are utter nonsense, click on it's name, and it's profile will come up. Next, there is an 'IGNORE user' button. Click that and your worries are over. There, 2 simple steps to get it. Hopefully, just hopefully, like the underaged pimp, if nobody entertains her, she will leave for elsewhere. Thanks, and let's be proactive in making this place even better as we move on. To more good years!

Of late, I noticed many drivers tend to encroach into another lane especially when they drive at a bend. If you happen to drive along Lornie Road towards Adam Road, ECP along Benjamin Sheares Bridge etc., you will likely to notice that drivers on the 1st lane tend to 'jiak' the 2nd lane because of the centre divider. When a driver is not in the habit of sticking to his own lane, this habit will be brought along even on a straight road. As such, I have regularly seen drivers driving between lanes even on a straight road. Driving into another lane often happens when one is driving fast and is not able to control the vehicle to stick to its lane. Therefore, the next time you drive, check out how many times and over what distance you encroach into another lane because many may not even be conscious of such driving habit. Have a nice day and drive safe!

From ST Forum: http://www.straitstimes.com/STForum/Story/...ory_757250.html Do parallel importers ignore manufacturers' recall advice? Published on Jan 19, 2012 TWO years ago, I deviated from my habit of buying a car from an authorised dealer, opting instead to buy one from a parallel importer because of the huge savings. But I regret that decision now. Some time ago, I received a letter informing me that there was a manufacturer's recall for my Honda Stream. When I telephoned the workshop named, I was told that I had to pay for my car to be checked. From my experience with authorised distributors, I knew there was no such charge. But as the amount was small, I did not object. When I took my car to the workshop, the staff inspected it briefly and said there was no need to change anything. I was shocked because from my experience with authorised dealers, whenever the car company announced a recall, the part would be changed regardless of whether it was defective. When I demanded that the part be changed, the workshop manager said there was no stock and that I had to obtain the part from the parallel importer. When I checked with the parallel importer, I was told that as long as the workshop said the part was not faulty, there was no need to replace it. I discovered that some of my colleagues who had bought cars from parallel importers also faced the same situation during a recall. None had the car parts changed. The Land Transport Authority should investigate the practice for safety reasons. Sam Gan

My fren has some unpid phone bills that he never pay after the shop close down. Singtel hired a company to chase for payment, about $300/-. Anyone has experience with these companies? They do have a timeframe to collect and give up after that deadline right? Their letter has a 14 day deadline.

My aunt took a comfort taxi and taxi involve in an accident this morning at around 945am along AYE. It was a chain collision involving 4 cars, taxi being the 2nd car in front. Taxi banged into car in front, and subsequent 2 car bang taxi from behind, causing her to suffer 3 major impact. Taxi front n rear was badly smashed, you could imagine hwow big the impact was. Taxi driver alighted the taxi to speak to other drivers involving in the accident, without checking the well-being of the passenger. my aunty called my my uncle @ 950am, telling him that she was in a taxi involving an accident, and that she was feeling v unwell. She has no energy to alight the taxi, taxi driver did not wind down window for ventilation. The only thing the taxi driver was interested is to exchange particulars. Shouldn;t the cabbie job is to make sure the passenger is okay? Or anyone on the road should make sure there is no injury involved? My uncle then arrived at 1017hrs and he confronted the taxi driver if he had called for an ambulance. Taxi driver was reluctant to call first as he has not settled the argument with other drivers. Only after my uncle arrive, that the taxi driver then called for an ambulance to send my aunty to the hospital. For the whole of 30mins, my aunt was left in the taxi with no ventilation, no one attending to after the accident. When the cabble is only interested in his own car, not the passenger. How irresponsible. My cousin has called over to comfort to lodge a complain and they only send a basket of fruits, worrth less than $10 to the hospital.

Can the MODs and Admin consider installing an Ignore function whereby users can opt to ignore certain members whom they don't wanna see (ie they will not see their posts/replies)? Thanks.

My wife has scratched a car door agst a wall till the extent where the silver colour can be seen. Would that be the base metal of the car door? Would there be any problem if I do not fix it? If I want to fix it, is it just a matter of respraying? Do I need to respray the entire side of the car? How much would it roughly cost and any good recommendations in the Sengkang/ AMK areas? Thank you

Admin, MCF has grown large. However, with the growth, some obnoxious posters have come on board(some have been here all along) Could, we for the better sake of MCF have an ignore function so that MCFers could then IGNORE those who they DO NOT want posts to be seen. For some, that would be a boon as some may not want to read nor have the posts of certain induhviduals flooding the threads. Your comments please!
