Been happening for some time but this is a very good case where both cannot meet minimum sum https://singaporeuncensored.com/couple-divorce-so-they-can-buy-another-hdb-flat-to-earn-rental/ COUPLE DIVORCE SO THEY CAN BUY ANOTHER HDB FLAT TO EARN RENTAL ByHello Its me September 8, 2022 Bumped into an ex-colleague (who is the same age as me) earlier and had an interesting brief catch up chat over coffee. He and his wife are now divorced. But except that there is nothing wrong with their marriage and they are still living together. The sole purpose of getting the divorce is to be able to buy ANOTHER HDB FLAT (under the singles scheme). So they collectively own two HDB flats as two single individuals. You see, he was a manager that had recently been displaced by cheaper foreign labour. As all of us know, at our age, there is a real challenge in getting a job that would pay him a decent salary. Yes, there are lots of employers that wants to hire him. He is, afterall, a qualified professional with a wealth of 30 years’ experience behind him. However, these greedy employers are just not willing to pay him his worth and wants to exploit his skills and experience for a mean salary. He refused to prostitute his skills for a low salary. He end up driving a cab that (ironically) pays him more than any of the offers that he had received. He won’t be getting any of his CPF money next year because he won’t be able to meet his minimum sum. All his past CPF contributions (more than $800K) had already gone into his 5rm HDB flat that they are staying in now. His wife has some CPF left but she (too) won’t be able to get a single cent out in a few years’ time because she (too) won’t be able to meet the minimum sum as well. So they planned, got a divorce and bought a second HDB flat just before they could lock away her CPF as the minimum sum in her CPF. They then moved into the new flat and rented their older flat out legally because he had already and duly met the “Minimum Occupation Period” required for the legal renting out for that flat. And this rental income will serve an additional passive retirement income. When I asked if he would be flouting any HDB regulations by doing that, he replied, 1) They are legally divorced and they are both legally SINGLE now. 2) He can retain the existing 5rm flat under the singles scheme and his wife is eligible to buy another flat under the singles scheme. 3) There is no law in this land that prohibit two single persons (divorced or not) from living together as a couple regardless if they were previously married or not. 4) At his age, being legally married is just a marital status. It doesn’t stop them living together as man and wife. They both had made their wills. 5) Instead of having the money stuck as a minimum sum in their CPF, they might as well utilise whatever that they can get out of their CPF so as to get an alternative passive income since:- – – a) they won’t be able to get any of their CPF money anyway – – b) even when they do get their CPF monthly payouts after the age of 65 yrs old (which is still a long way to go), the amounts will be so miserable that they would hardly be able to do anything decent with it anyway… – – c) so…. they might as well get a second HDB flat with whatever money that they can siphoned out from their CPF (before the money is being locked away instead under the minimum sum)…. rent it out and (at least), the monthly rental income of $2,500 can help them live a more dignified retirement IMMEDIATELY (right away) rather than waiting till they reach 65 yrs old for that miserable delayed CPF payout that is so insignificant…. Thinking aloud now…. could this be the new norm of retirement in Singapore that Singaporeans will be planning for? Wouldn’t it be so sad that we have to come to this, in order that we can respond to how our hard-earned CPF money is being wilfully and forcefully withheld from us…

'How to murder your husband' writer on trial for murder of husband. 🤨 https://www.straitstimes.com/world/united-states/how-to-murder-your-husband-writer-on-trial-for-murder-of-husband Nancy Crampton Brophy stands accused of shooting Daniel Brophy, using a gun whose now-missing barrel she bought on eBay. PHOTO: GOODREADS.COM LOS ANGELES (AFP) - A writer who penned a piece titled "How To Murder Your Husband" is on trial in the United States for...killing her husband. It is a case that has all the hallmarks of classic detective fiction - a huge insurance payout, an impecunious suspect who claims to have amnesia, a missing weapon, and surveillance footage that seems to have caught the culprit red-handed. But for novelist Nancy Crampton Brophy, it's not the plot of her latest book; it's real life in an Oregon court room. Crampton Brophy, whose "Wrong Never Felt So Right" series of novels include "The Wrong Husband" and "The Wrong Lover", stands accused of shooting Daniel Brophy, using a gun whose now-missing barrel she bought on eBay. Prosecutors say the 71-year-old writer was struggling to make payments on her mortgage, but kept up multiple life assurance policies that would pay out a total of US$1.4 million (S$1.94 million) in the event of her husband's demise. "I do better with Dan alive financially than I do with Dan dead," she said as she took the stand in Portland this week, The Oregonian newspaper reported. "Where is the motivation I would ask you? An editor would laugh and say, 'I think you need to work harder on this story, you have a big hole in it.'" Prosecutor Shawn Overstreet said security camera footage had captured Crampton Brophy's minivan outside the Oregon Culinary Institute on June 2, 2018 at almost exactly the time her chef husband was killed in one of the school's classrooms. "You were there at the same time that someone happens to be shooting your husband....with the exact type of gun that you own and which is now mysteriously missing," he said. Crampton Brophy told the court she has no memory of being there, though acknowledges she must have been, insisting the CCTV images show her in the area because she was driving around getting inspiration for a story. "This is not a man I would have shot because I had a memory issue. It seems to me if I had shot him, I would know every detail." Daniel Brophy, 63, was found dead that morning by students readying for a class. He had been shot twice. Investigators say the barrel from the Glock handgun used in the slaying was purchased by the suspect on eBay. That barrel - which would contain damning forensic clues - has never been recovered, despite an exhaustive police search. Crampton Brophy admits having bought a Glock pistol, which she says was for her husband to protect himself when he went mushroom hunting in the woods, but says the missing barrel was purchased as part of research for an unfinished novel. "There was a big separation between what was for writing and what was for protection," she told the court, The Oregonian reported. Prosecutors say Crampton Brophy, whose "How To Murder Your Husband" remains accessible online and whose books can be bought on Amazon, was facing financial ruin before her husband's death, but continued to pay into 10 separate life insurance policies. The blog on murdering a husband discusses methods and motivations for dispatching an unwanted spouse. These include financial gain and the use of a firearm, although it notes guns are "loud, messy, require some skill". "But the thing I know about murder is that every one of us have it in him/her when pushed far enough," the essay says. The trial, which began in early April, is ongoing.

Why?? Our world is such.... A Saudi court granted a couple's divorce after a woman accused the man of leaving his mother and family to be with her. The Saudi Gazette reports that they had no problems as a couple but that the way he treated his family bothered the wife. She told the judge, "I can never trust a man who does everything to keep his wife happy while he denies even a small favour to his mother." The woman said her husband, 29, took care of her, giving her expensive gifts and trips abroad. However, the woman felt that "a man who is not good to his own mother cannot be trusted. He may turn his back on me anytime in the future." The man was reported to have been in deep shock. He would do everything to keep her, he told the judge. He asked her, "Didn't I abandon my own family for you?" "Yes, and this is the very reason I want divorce from you," the woman retorted. The divorce was granted after she returned the dowry from her husband. http://www.asiaone.com/asia/woman-divorces-husband-choosing-her-over-mother

Apparently, this is becoming a trend. Public humiliation of 'xiao san'. Watch the woman in black beat up the woman in blue who doesn't retaliate in any way.

BY JEFF LEESON Hell hath very literal fury for a husband scorned. A German man seems to be following his divorce agreement to the letter by using power tools to give his ex-wife half of everything he owns. The man posted a video of him cutting chairs, beds and phones in half for his ex with the translated description "Thank you for 12 'beautiful' years, Laura! You've really earned half." He has reportedly sent half of the pieces to his ex and is selling his halves on eBay. As of the time of this post, his car is selling for a little more than $50. Thankfully, it seems like their house is still in one piece.

Wow, can't believe ! It takes 9 years to know the sex of the partner that you are with, and somemore living together while dating ?! Really good in hiding http://news.asiaone.com/news/diva/ra...hip?page=0%2C1 Even after having dated for seven years, and being married for slightly more than a year, her husband refused to consummate their marriage. After filing for a divorce in Feb 2011, she found out from court documents that her husband was originally a woman, according to a report by Shin Min Daily News. The report mentioned that the husband had undergone a sex change, and had earlier confessed to his wife that he is unable to conceive a child. This is a rare case of divorce and division of marital assets in court, involving the 47-year-old wife, a group finance manager, and her 50-year-old husband, a tutor. They had married in 2009. According to court documents, the couple had met online in 2002 and they lived together while they were dating, reported Lianhe Wanbao. The wife said she wanted to buy a $730,000 apartment under her name as their love nest in 2009, but her husband requested to be a joint owner as a condition to marry her, according to Shin Min. After the couple married, the husband's family also moved into the apartment. The husband and his family moved out a year later, however, when the couple's relationship soured. In 2011, the wife applied for a divorce on the grounds that he refused to consummate their marriage. However, once she found out that her husband was originally a woman upon applying for divorce, she changed her reason to that her husband is a woman, said Shin Min. The husband countered and said he was born a woman, but had undergone a sex change and told his wife he is unable to consummate their marriage or have children. The court granted their divorce on the grounds that both husband and wife are female, according to the Chinese evening daily. The wife said her husband wanted to get a divorce for money, referring to a text message. In the message, the husband wrote that he had no money, and that a divorce may help him clear his debt, reported Shin Min. The wife said that her husband had planned to request to split their apartment after their divorce to help him clear his debt. Finally the judge ordered the apartment to be sold within six months and the money to be used to repay loans, after which 70 per cent of the revenue would belong to the wife, and 30 per cent would belong to the husband. Dissatisfied, the husband appealed the decision, according to Lianhe Wanbao. The wife said that since they were dating, her husband would often borrow money from her, and owed several banks a total of $80,000. Although they were divorced, the two are going through a lawsuit over matrimonial assets. The wife also said that she paid for housing loans, property taxes, fees, utilities, insurance, and even everyday items, while her husband only paid for half the utility bills while he was staying in the apartment. The wife's net worth of more than $630,000 is reportedly more than three times that of her husband's, according to Shin Min Daily News. According to court documents, she earns $8,500 a month, while the husband earns between $3,000 to $3,300 a month. The wife disclosed in court documents that she has a three-room flat, insurance, a car and more than $260,000 under her name. The husband claimed he paid monthly mortgage of $1,400, and also bore costs for renovation. The wife said that her husband had promised to return the money he owed her after their marriage, but did not do so and continued borrowing money from her to pay off bank loans - owing her a total of $20,000. According to the Accounting And Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA), the husband had opened seven companies between 1989 to 2004, but all had gone out of business. In Lianhe Wanbao's interview with Fang Wei Zhuang, a maternity specialist with Gleneagles Hospital, he said that a woman who has undergone a sex change will have male genitals and can have intercourse. However, without testicles, the transgendered male is unable to produce sperm and have children, said Fang.

" 夫贵而妻荣", meaning 'husband prosperous and wife gentle' is a traditional Chinese saying. It has never been reversed and never a saying to prosper the wife. Stupid woman: focuses at the man's shortcomings, always angry; Good woman: delight in the strength of the man, always happy. Stupid woman: always argues with the man regardless of place or situation, disgraces the man; Good woman: shows respect to the man in the public, discuss matters in private. Stupid woman: cares only towards her own parents and family, cold towards husband's family; Good woman: cares towards husband's family, also loving towards her own parents and family. Stupid woman: puts down the man - in actual fact, putting down the man would mean putting down herself indirectly. Good Woman: praises the man - praising the man would also mean praising herself! Stupid woman: always bringing up bitter pasts; Good woman: focuses on building a good future with the man. Stupid woman: holding on to the fault of the man, they think they have fully known the nature of men. Good woman: always try to understand and forgive her man, treating him as a child that never grows up. Stupid woman: would say, "Get lost!" Good woman: would say, "Don't leave me!" Stupid woman: treats the man like a spring, the tighter they are held the higher it will jump. Good woman: treats the man like a kite, holding on to the string of the heart. Stupid woman: emphasizes too much on herself; Good woman: relies and trusts the man. Stupid woman: holds on tight to then man, never allowing him to leave her sight; Good woman: gives him space, but holds his heart. Silly woman: cooks and does the laundry, does not want to dress or doll up; Good woman: cooks and does the laundry, and meticulously dresses and dolls up. Silly woman: brings man depression and stress; Good woman: brings man of passion and power. Silly woman: lets the man fail in her tears; Good Woman: lets the man succeed in her smile! Old Master said: The worse the wife's temper, the more husband fails. The more the wife is gentle like water, the more prosperous the husband gets. What causes it? According to scientists the facial features of a woman that prospers a man would tend to have faces that are rounded, radiant, soft, etc.. But these findings are not a hundred percent accurate as a root reason. Now, from a Buddhist point of view, we talk about the root cause - the traditional culture believes that a woman is made of water, and water for the money, the actual occurrence, a woman born to bring wealth. The women here, refers to all women, rather than any specific woman. The man is 'fortune'. Hidden in the five elements is water, which is a very small portion. As for the man is concerned, and the saying goes "成家立业". Only after marriage "成家", then will the man be able to build a career "立业", and do great feats. So, man needs a woman in order for his career to flourish, and behind every successful man there is always a woman of dedication and devotion. Let us take a look at the Water's special qualities. 1. Water will always go with the flow Water flow towards low areas, woman like water must who does well in the relationship in a family, willing to bend, will be able to provide positive support the whole family. Strong independent women who thinks she can hold up half the sky, loses the water element, and will always fight with the man. She does not give the man any space, which is certainly means "克夫" - 'husband is cursed by the wife'. Such situations generally lead to divorce very easily. Even if one has the money, they cannot even enjoy it. 2.Water detours when it meets an obstacle. Water is soft. Water flows though places and when it meets an obstacle, it will automatically detour and will not go head-on with the obstacle. Hence the water will never get hurt. When faced with the man's fury, the woman being water will use her softness to overcome the steel (fury from the man). This is because only softness and gentleness can overcome steel, and steel cannot overcome softness. Therefore, the only thing the woman (being like water) have to do is simply to act a little innocent, maybe pout, big sad puppy eyes, flirt a little, playfully begging, playfully whine a little, be a demure lady, etc, you get the picture (because there is no translation of the equivalent in English) and the man's temper will be gone. And so the woman will always be the winner in the house. Independant and 'steel' women loves to go head-on with men. This is called "鸡蛋碰石头" - 'the egg going head on with stone'. The one who ends up getting hurt and bruises all over will always be the woman. I once met a beautiful lady who loves to go head-on with his husband. She told me that her husband is very obedient before marriage. However, shortly after marriage, her husband had an affair. I told her that there is a limit to obedience in a man, it can never last your entire life time. Only when you become a real woman, then will a man give you his heart forever. 3. Water is moisturizing A woman will always be able to find good in a man, unceasingly praising her man a man, being proud of him, using flowery words to lift him, letting him feel like he's a hero, full of energy. He will be determined to protect his fragile wife. Thus the relationship of the couple will be ever so intimate as a result. On the other hand, if a woman always picks the wrong in a man, the man's heart more cold, losing confidence, he will feel like a fool eventually. He will think that he is only a pile of rubbish and will go on failing and going downhill with his life. A woman in Beijing told me that her husband found a second wife. But the second wife was not as pretty as her, not as educated, earns less than her, and she could not understand what the husband likes in her? I told her your husband loves her gentleness, considerate nature and her loving nature. She was speechless. The significance of prospering a man lies in having a complete and happy family. A woman needs to do her part, and the man need to do his. Do not let grievances befall onto your woman. If your woman suffers grievances, it would mean that your wealth suffers grievances too. How then will the wealth enter your pockets? I urge all readers to reflect on themselves on whether they are a woman like water, or if they are the man who is afraid that your woman suffers grievances. The wife is water, water is fortune, if your fortune is not well, fortune from the outside will never enter into your pockets. The woman is water, the man is steel, he must have good tolerance as well. The higher your tolerance level would mean how much fortune you can hold. If your wife does not provide enough wealth for you, wealth will come from elsewhere. Therefore, as for the man, do not be over calculative when it comes to money, be more generous and happy man giving. http://shiningknightarmour.blogspot.sg/2014/03/the-more-gentle-wife-more-prosperous.html

http://www.straitstimes.com/breaking-news/...-knife-20130121 A sales executive slapped and kicked his wife, hit her with a plastic clothes hanger till it broke, and threw a plastic chair at her to stop her complaining. She only retreated to her room after he slashed her thigh with the dull side of a kitchen knife. (pah bway si one) Tan Kok Long, 29, was on Monday jailed for two weeks for hurting Ms Tan Chai Nee, 39, a beauty consultant. A district court was told that the assault with the knife left a 10cm-long scratch on her leg. It all started when she knocked incessantly on the door of the guest room of their Jurong West flat at 7am on Feb 4, 2011. When he opened the door, she attempted to talk to him about their marriage, finances and his extra marital affair. Tan was still sleepy and told her not to disturb him but she persisted. That is when he assaulted her. She went to the police at 7pm that day and sought treatment at the Singapore General Hospital some two hours later. The medical report listed multiple caning marks on her, the scratch on the thigh and a bruise on her scalp.

S'porean woman marries dying hubby in hospital Tuesday, Jun 19, 2012 The New Paper By Maureen Koh They registered their marriage 13 years ago, but this couple never had the chance to have a traditional wedding. But as the gravely ill man lay in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the National University Hospital (NUH), deejays from Radio 1003, Singapore Press Holding's Chinese language station, swung into action, and made their wish come true two weeks ago. The radio station's programme director Carine Ang said: "It was such a touching moment... everyone present was moved to tears." It started with an SMS sent to the radio station by Madam Chua Mui Mui in April, wishing her husband a happy wedding anniversary. Madam Chua, 37, also revealed that her husband, Mr Tay Guan Yeow, 44, had felt bad all these years for not giving her the wedding of her dreams. After her message was read out on air, listeners called in with offers to help the couple have their wedding pictures taken. At the time, no one knew that the childless couple - who sell roasted meats at an industrial area in the western part of Singapore - were going through a harrowing situation. Mr Tay was suffering from kidney failure. He had been diagnosed just two years after they registered their marriage, in 1999, when she was 24 and he was 31. Battling his illness, they had put off the traditional dinner and wedding photos. Until Madam Chua's heartfelt message to the radio station. Offers of kindness The offers poured in. But the couple initially hesitated. Madam Chua, explains: "We were a little worried, and then because we had delayed responding to the offers, we didn't think more about it." Then, on June 5, Mr Tay's condition worsened and he was rushed to NUH. Doctors told Madam Chua that he might not pull through. It prompted her to send another SMS to the radio station's hotline. In the message, she asked: "If we want to take wedding photos, would it be too late? My husband has just been admitted to ICU." Ms Ang said the minute their duty deejay received the message, everyone was galvanised into action. She says: "Our hearts dropped. We wanted to do something for the couple, especially because we knew that Mr Tay was a loyal 1003 supporter. "We wanted to do whatever we could to make their wish come true." By 8pm, the team, which included deejay Tan Yan Wei and Ms Ang, had secured a rent-free gown from My Wedding Affair and complimentary photography. A nurse helped take Madam Chua's measurements so that they'd get the right gown size, and the team rushed down to the hospital. There was hardly a dry eye in the ICU when the bride walked in, resplendent in her gown. As she bent over over her husband, Madam Chua asked him: "Am I pretty? Are you happy?" Tears flowed freely as Mr Tay said yes, and handed a bouquet of flowers to his wife. 'I will live for him' Ms Ang said that those who witnessed the simple ceremony included Mr Tay's family members and Madam Chua's two younger sisters. After the ceremony, the groom told everyone: "I'm sorry that we don't have anything to give you." "But if I am discharged, I will definitely bring snacks and roast meats to the radio station." Madam Chua says she believes her husband, who had his left leg and right toes amputated earlier this year, is hanging on for her. She admits that some friends and family members have asked her why she stayed on with her sick husband, whom they view as a yoke around her neck. She says: "I don't get it, how can he be a burden to me? We exchanged vows and there's this line, 'In sickness and in health'. "How can we forget this line? It's never occurred to me that I should abandon him." In a recording that Mr Tay did for the radio station, he said: "This whole life, I loved only Chua Mei Mei. (There will be) no other choices and no regrets. I will love her forever and ever. "Whether it's in life or in death, I will also miss her. Even though I will leave first, I want her to go on living and carry on with her life." To which, Madam Chua says: "Some people have asked me what are my plans for the future. "I don't know. I've not thought about it. Just as my husband is keeping strong for me, I will do the same for him. "I will live for him." This article was first published in The New Paper.

HOW DO YOU SUGGEST GOING ABOUT SOLVING THIS COMPLICATE PROBLEM? ANYONE WITH PERSONAL EXPERIENCE TO SHARE? Stuck in a sticky situation. Im from HK and moved over here with my partner of 9 years from Aus. We moved so I could be closer to my family. Early last year we got married in Aus, of which majority of our friends from HK flew over to witness. During Oct, I got suspicious of my husband as I could tell things weren't right and he admitted he was texting/seeing someone on the side as I was too busy for him and he felt 'neglected'. Drama queen. Anyway, I have quite a successful job, and he is often left on own during some evenings, while I am out working. I said I was going to leave him and he threatened to take his own life, as I was the only one who really cares for him (he doesn't have any close friends in HK and is not so close with his family in Aus). So I forgave him and promised him that I wouldn't spend so much time on my work. A patchy xmas went by, and we went away during CNY on a sort of 'patch things out' holiday. It went really well, we spoke about how we felt and that we were newly married and having children. He really wants children at the moment and has booked in with the Family Association for us to visit next week. Then last night, I just so happen to go on his email, and BAM - there it is - email messages to and from this girl he was seeing in Oct. Things such as, i love you, i may be with my wife but my heart is with you, and this girl emailing him back asking him to spend more time with her and telling him she wants to be his 'Mrs'. Emails and pictures galore. The whole thing. Even emails from when we were on our patch-up holiday "had to quickly sneak away to tel you I miss and love you!!" What the hell right? Just the other day he was saying he really wants kids now and wants me to stop contraception and blah blah blah.. and then this? Why would he still want kids? So husband comes home, after I discovred all this when he was at the gym. I calm my nerves and act out all normal as if i didn't know anything. Now the question is - how the hell do I tell him? I want to leave him. I want separation/divorce. This is not the first time he has 'wandered' off in our relationship, as it happened many years ago and he promised he changed. We share a house together, he has no friends and no family here. I am scared if I leave him, he will do something silly to himself, like he always said he will. Emotional blackmail i know, but it is working. Also, how do I break the news to my family and friends, who all flew over to our wedding? They all love him and think he is great. Together we meet up with my family at least twice a week without fail. If I start showing up on my own, they will get suspicious. sorry for the long message....... i don't even know where to start. haven't even told my closest friends as I am greatly embarrassed this has happened. I have a lot of pride which has now been shattered. he kissed me goodbye before he left for work and he has booked dinner and movies tonight.... how and when shall i break the news?!?!

It was report in today's The Straits Times that Michael Puhaindran, who is the surviving husband of Lo Hwei Yen has afterall found himself another soul mate. They are going to tie the knot on 1/1/12. After all the intensive media attention and focus on how he felt about the loss of his wife and from the newspaper reports, internet discussions and his blog we empathise his devoted love for her, this news came a bit of like an anti-climax. There is no right or wrong in this issue but my point is we got to have some reservations with what we post or said in the media or social network because news like this will definitely leave a bad taste to someone has negative views about remarrying soon after the passing of spouse. Especially in this case.

According to the camera footage, both men started fighting outside the apartment. Mr Ittiphan was still naked. The suspect then re-entered the apartment and emerged with a knife which he used to stab his wife's lover. The footage also revealed that Mr Ittiphan had staggered back to the apartment unit before dying in the bedroom. According to Thai media reports, Mr Ittiphan was stabbed in nine places including his chest, heart, back, and right hand. Ms Siriwan called the police after Mr Kuwakorn died, and upon their arrival, they discovered the Singaporean man's passport at the scene. The Singaporean allegedly fled the crime scene in a BMW 325i that he had bought for his wife. He had previously also bought her luxury gifts and is believed to have given her an allowance of 70,000 baht ($2,900) every month, The New Paper reported. According to Lianhe Wanbao, the Singaporean man married Ms Siriwan on Sept 9, 2009. He reportedly owns a plastic moulding factory in Singapore, and has not been seen or heard from since the incident.
