  9. What's the typical price for this item? I was told by AD that it's around $100, which appears to be very costly for a mere hose. The one in my car has not cracked yet, but was reported to be bulging (I have yet to verify). Is this a good reason to get it changed?

  14. there's a hose next to my dipstick that is cut-off and blocked with a nut. it leads to a metal pipe that tee's off under the intake manifold. does anyone know what this hose is? or what was its function? i'm looking for a vacuum line and not sure if that's a vacuum hose.
  15. Most passenger cars are shipped with rubber brake hose being cheaper to manufacture, hardy and rarely fail with normal usage. Rubber brake hoses are able to withstand the hydraulic pressure encountered when braking, but they tend to swell/bulge (ballooning) when hard braking pressure is applied, hence limiting braking pressure translating to
  16. Oh, btw, share with bros here... McWell is selling steel braided hose lines for $298 (incl installation and bleeding + 1 year warranty). Cash and Carry is $40 less. They will measure the connector sizes for you and give you the right fit. Most cars use standard diameters, so there'll be a kit for EP80 (4 disc converted). oh, just to clarify steel braided hoses DO NOT improve braking performance, which means do not expect to stop 10m earlier. it's more for braking "feel" and responsiveness, as it reduces expansion during pressurization. anyone interested?
  17. Hello everyone, I have recently removed my aftermarket vacuum gauge and would appreciate it if you guys can advise on this issue. Mechanic cut the hose to facilitate installation of a "T" connector, additional outlet was then connected to sender unit. After removing the gauge, I soldered back the stock wires and protected them with heat shrink wrap. The "T" connector is still in my vacuum hose with a length of tubing attached to it, the tubing's end has been sealed with silicon though. Will this cause any problems such as leaks or inaccurate information being sent to ECU? I'm afraid of leaks as accessories shop did not secure "T" connector with clamps. I'm contemplating whether or not to replace the vacuum hose with a new one, will it be expensive to replace? Thanks
