  1. Recent Harvey Weinstein scandal But I was wondering why did these actresses took so long to come out in the open ? And then there will be a torrent of them. There's also the Bill Cosby case. Those with power, abused them. Other case was the Catholic Church. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catholic_Church_sexual_abuse_cases Hope your boss didn't abuse you.

  4. http://www.ryot.org/how-hollywood-got-captain-phillips-dead-wrong/408561 What you won’t see in the movie trailer and what the mainstream media tends to ignore is why Somali piracy started in the first place: foreign companies are illegally over-fishing Somali waters and dumping large quantities of nuclear and hazardous waste off of Somalia’s coast. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piracy_in_Somalia A United Nations report and several news sources have suggested that piracy off the coast of Somalia was caused in part by illegal fishing. According to the DIW and the U.S. House Armed Services Committee, the dumping of toxic waste in Somali waters by foreign vessels also severely constrained the ability of local fishermen to earn a living. In response, the fishermen began forming armed groups to stop the foreign ships. They eventually turned to hijacking commercial vessels for ransom as an alternate source of income.
  5. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0EdSz_W92owSynthetic lubricant manufacturer, Royal Purple, is highlighting award-winning Hollywood stuntman Lance Gilbert’s achievements in its 2013 Outperformer mini-documentary series. Gilbert is a third-generation stunt man with a family lineage going all the way back to Mickey Gilbert in Ben Hur. The antic chariot racing scenes in that 1959 film can be considered one of the precursors to the work Lance is doing on NfS, like the getting a Koenigsegg (replica) to flip out and explode on a bridge during a chase. It was a stunt that the director had planned to do with CGI until Lance convinced him that it could be done with real cars. You can see how it was done in the video – we think it's pretty cool. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsrJWUVoXeM “Lance epitomizes the idea of what an Outperformer is,” said Royal Purple Marketing Director Randy Fisher. “He constantly pushes the limits to create some of the most amazing action scenes ever recorded. His meticulous planning and attention to detail ensure the safety of performers, while making ‘the impossible’ possible on-screen.”
  6. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dOzjcEq526I Chinese carmaker, BAIC, has engaged Hollywood actor, Nicolas Cage, to star in a commercial for the brand new Senova D Series. "We choose Nicolas Cage as the spokesman for our high end brand 'Shenbao' not only because he is an Oscar-winning actor and a screen legend, but, more importantly, because he has starred in a series of action films about cars," said an official in BAIC's Marketing Department. The Senova D Series is based on the SAAB 9-5 platform. In 2009, BAIC bought Saab's production lines for the first generation 9-3 and 9-5, which had an estimated worth of US$200 million(S$250 million). However, BAIC did not acquire the right to use the 'Saab' name. 'Shenbao' is the Chinese name for Saab in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau. The Shenbao D-Series is available with three turbocharged engines, namely a 1.8-litre with 180bhp, a 2.0-litre with 204bhp and a 2.3-litre with 250bhp. The engines are mated to a five-speed tiptronic transmission with paddle shifts.

  8. [extract] Many movie buffs will remember the 1979 australian movie Mad Max which stars actor, Mel Gibson. With its post apocalyptic setting, the movie featured a variety of vehicles and one of them is the black
  9. Most of the time, in action movies, we get to see a car (or vehicle) explosion. Usually it is from a nudge from another car and the nudged car flips, lands and explode or from a simple but accurate gunshot to the fuel tank. It looks as though cars get blown up very easily in movies. But, in reality, that is not the case. In fact, you could shoot a bullet through the fuel tank and the car will not explode and also, we will never get to see the kind of explosions we usually see in movies when a car is driven off a cliff. So, how are these vehicular explosions are achieved in movies? In this age of digitally made special effects, the widely preferred option when dealing with car explosions in movies is to do a real live explosion. Digitally made explosions still look very artificial and a real fireball looks simply stunning. This was explained by Drew Jiritano of DJFX, a professional New York special effects company. But to film an effective explosion is not as easy as it seems.
  10. Shot on the backlots of Universal Studios. Amazing racing/stunt driving action!
  11. Witnessed a little drama along TPE towards Changi at 1:30pm. This car A was behind me at lane 1, following with a comfortable (1-2 cars) gap and travelling at the same speed as me. Then this car B entered TPE from Lor Halus, the next thing I know, car B is in between A and my car. By the time I reached API flyover, I have opened up the gap between B and I. [Action begins] A filtered to lane 2, cut to the front of B immediately. B filtered to lane 2 after being cut, A immediately filtered to lane 2. B attempted to return to lane 1 but failed as A made a similar move. B moved to lane 3 as there was a slower car at lane 2 and returns to lane 2. B started to follow a car in lane 2 after that. A continued the journey at lane 1. I exited at Tampines ave 12. [Action ends] Exciting eh? I had to be extra careful myself while watching the whole thing via the rear mirror. Regardless, it was a stupid act for both A and B. Worse is A has a female passenger in front.
