  1. Was looking through SGcarmart just now... noticed that some of the resale cars were advertised as having 'lady owner' etc. Obviously, the SE sees it as an advantage or a good selling point of a resale car. Was wondering.. is it really true that lady drivers tend to be less aggressive on the engine and so the engine of the car would be in better condition or is it just a stereotype? Hahaha... I have never seen a car advertised as having an ex 'young male owner'.

  4. http://sg.news.yahoo.com/20-year-old-kille...ck--report.html skool holiday now better stay home Days after a teen was stabbed by youths, another 20-year-old youth has been attacked and killed, according to Shin Min Daily News. Five youths beat the 20-year-old, Chen Zi Quan, to death in 15 minutes on 3 December, reported the paper. It is not known what sparked this attack, which occurred at the carpark of Central Square Mall, said the paper. Police arrived soon after the incident. It was earlier reported on Saturday that five youths were arrested in connection with an attack on two teenagers at Potong Pasir Avenue 1 on 1 December. One of the two teenagers, Anand Ravindran, 17, was stabbed twice in the back. The two teenagers had been accused by three youths of staring. On 30 October last year, 19-year-old polytechnic student Darren Ng Wei Jie was the victim of a gang attack at Downtown East, and died from his injuries after getting slashed by members of a gang who accused him of staring. Eight youths are being charged with murder. Just a week after that, two separate parang attacks around Bukit Panjang resulted in seven youths getting hurt. Another incident later that same month saw two teenagers getting into a fight at a fast food restaurant, resulting in one of them slashing the other on the right shoulder with a bread knife.
  5. Yesterday was on ECP towards AYE/Tuas just be fore MBS, suddenly got one black BMW 3 series (S** 5805) with smoke tailights cut in at high speed then swerving left and right changing lanes to overtake other cars (traffic was moderately heavy). It was already past 8pm and lights all not turned on. Continue to drive aggressively in a manner which u'd normally associate with a particular japanese brand (S*****) eg. tailgating car in front and then make sudden overtaking move. I was very pissed off - why need to drive lidat? Then finally the car kana stuck when filtering out to henderson (all de while i m close by despite not driving like a crazy person) so i pass the car as i stay on main expressway towards Tuas. I turn to look at de driver as i passed and WTF! it's a FEMALE driver! And not those fierce looking type of gal also. Just an ordinary looking one! I tink must be de most hiong female driver i ever seen.

  7. It's over. My Holidays. My time to detail cars have temporarily been reduced. Since i've been addicted to 501 and 521 the past 2 weeks. I decided to let 105 comeback today! Steps 1) Wash and hose down 2) Surface prep with 105 Sealant with PC @ Speed 3.5 3) Sealed with TrackClaw @ Speed 3. 4) Last step, my fav always Aquawax. 5) Drink water and sit there and admire.
  8. Mitsubishi Motors' S-AWC Integrally Controls Vehicle Behaviors with 2 ECUs Jul 11, 2007 18:30 Naoshige Shimizu, Nikkei Electronics http://techon.nikkeibp.co.jp/english/NEWS_...T=english_PRINT java script:location.href='http://digg.com/submit?phase=2%26url='+encodeURIComponent(location.href)+'%26title='+encodeURIComponent(document.title)+'%26bodytext='+encodeURIComponent(document.absttext.bodytext.value)+'%26topic=tech_news' http://del.icio.us/post Mitsubishi Motors Corp. announced July 10, 2007, that it will mount Super All Wheel Control (S-AWC), a newly-developed technology for the integration control of vehicle motion, in the new models of Lancer Evolution, which will be released in fall 2007. S-AWC was developed by integrating four functions to control vehicle motion. Those four functions are "sports ABS," "active center differential (ACD)" to control braking force of front and rear wheels, "active yaw control (AYC)" to regulate yaw driving force of rear wheels, and "active stability control (ASC)" to control a brake and engine. Mitsubishi Motors has been developing the first three functions for some time. The company exhibited an integration control technology that also controls suspensions and steering as S-AWC in the 39th Tokyo Motor Show in 2005. However, S-AWC that the company announced in 2007 controls neither of them. Dedicated CAN Controls 2 ECUs In this integration control system, two electronic control units (ECU) regulates vehicle motion. One is an ECU developed by Mitsubishi Electric Corp. to control ACD, AYC and ASC. The other is an ECU that is accompanied by the ABS developed by Continental Teves Inc. of Germany. The two ECUs can communicate with other ECUs through a CAN, an in-vehicle LAN interface standard. In addition, the two ECUs are communicating with each other through a dedicated CAN, enabling to control vehicle motion with faster response speed. The cable and communication standard for the dedicated CAN are the same as those for other CANs. The company considered adopting FlexRay, a next-generation in-vehicle LAN interface standard used by BMW. But, according to the company, with the dedicated CAN, it is possible to ensure enough communication speed that does not bring discomfort to the users. As for sensors, a longitudinal acceleration sensor, lateral acceleration sensor and yaw rate sensor are installed as one module near the gravity center of a vehicle, which is located between a driver's seat and passenger seat. Other sensors, such as a wheel-speed sensor and steering-angle sensor, are installed in different places. However, no vertical acceleration sensor is used. Cooperation with Twin Clutch SST is One-Way Communication Mitsubishi Motors also announced the details of Twin Clutch SST, a newly-developed automatic transmission and that this transmission operates in cooperation with S-AWC. For example, when S-AWC analyzes a behavior of a turning vehicle and judges it safer not to shift gears, it sends a signal to tell Twin Clutch SST that the gear must not be changed. However, S-AWC does not control vehicle motion by using control information from Twin Clutch SST, according to the company. Model-Based Method Develops Control Algorithms of Vehicle Motion With Matlab/Simulink, a control-system-modeling tool, the control algorithms of vehicle motion were developed by Mitsubishi Motors. The company adopted model-based method, which combines an algorithm and physical model of a vehicle to run a simulation. The physical model of a vehicle was constructed with CarSim, a simulation-package software developed by Mechanical Simulation Corp. of the United States. The algorithms were developed for each function such as ACD and AYC, not for each vehicle type. Therefore, the algorithms can be employed by various types of vehicles. "If ECUs are integrated, it will become more difficult to use a part of the softwares installed in an ECU for other vehicles," said Seiichi Ohta, executive officer and corporation general manager of the Development and Engineering Office of Mitsubishi Motors, when asked about Toyota Motor Corp., which aims to integrate several ECUs. "Unless the prices of ECUs drastically drop, it is more efficient to use multiple ECUs," he said, expressing a negative view on the integration of ECUs at this point. http://techon.nikkeibp.co.jp/english/NEWS_...0070711/135850/ but rear is still drum brake leh (1.5l). duhz.
  9. Full throttle...oh..the sound has out of this world.. Redline is 6500 rpm, I rammed till 7000 rpm hit 200km. Just for a few seconds before sensibility kicks in. Adrenaline was still pumping even after car was almost stopping.. Surprisingly car felt stable in 6 lane highway. Not telling where..haha I DO NOT recommend anyone to try this.
