The current Toyota Harrier may still be fairly new to the Malaysian market (unless you count the myriad of grey imports that existed before UMW Toyota Motor’s offering), but the truth is third-generation SUV has been around since 2013 and in need of a replacement. Well, it looks like the forth-gen model is coming soon, and a promotional video has just surfaced on social media. It shows a car that draws much of its profile a fair bit of inspiration from the outgoing model, but with a couple of touches of its own. The characteristic blanked-off upper grille and slim headlights remain, but the latter now sport new LED daytime running lights with dual branches, much like the latest Avalon sedan. The lower grille is also much larger, reaching towards the upper grille and only separated by a full-width chrome strip. Along the side, the shoulder line sweeps upwards between the strong front and rear haunches, while the D-pillars have been made slightly narrower. But it’s the rear that’s the biggest departure – the full-width tail lights have been reduced to slits which, together with what appears to be a reverse-rake tail, gives the car more than a hint of the Jaguar F-Pace0 about it. According to Japanese automotive portal Best Car, the new Harrier, set to make its debut on June 17, will ride on the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) that underpins most of Toyota’s latest models – specifically the K variant (GA-K) that the Camry, RAV4 and aforementioned Avalon are also based on. It will reportedly be significantly larger than before, in part to accommodate an optional third row of seats. New features include an electrochromic sunroof that can be dimmed (eliminating the need for blinds) as well as a dash cam integrated in the rear-view mirror. As for powertrains, expect the Harrier to come with an M20A 2.0 litre direct-injected Dynamic Force engine that makes 172 PS and 203 Nm of torque in the RAV4. There will also likely be a hybrid model that pairs a 2.5 litre version of that engine to a pair of electric motors, delivering a total of 211 PS in the Camry Hybrid. The 8AR-FTS 2.0 litre turbo mill, introduced in the facelifted third-get model (which we get), will apparently be dropped. source: https://paultan.org/2020/04/07/2021-toyota-harrier-fourth-generation-model-leaked/

i went to test drive on sat, sharing my views below Likes - exterior design - size of car, notable presence on the road - sound proofing - boot size is huge - space for rear seat passengers is huge - front sequential turn signals looks cool; would really loveit if they used sequential for back and side signals as well - sunroof Dislikes - touchscreen on dashboard is pathetically small. those in japan seem much bigger ( )- from the boot, there is no lever/button for making the rear seats lie flat - no safety options: blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic monitoring, tyre deflation monitoring - they removed the panoramic view monitor, which i think is available in the japanese brochures - lag before turbo engine kicks in Some excellent reviews here from Richard too: http://www.mycarforum.com/topic/2705478-harrier-2017/page-7?do=findComment&comment=6159941

Since young, our parents will constantly remind us time and time again to always check for traffic before attempting to cross the road. Unfortunately, all these bits of advice seem to enter and exit this jogger's ears, without the organ in between his ears retaining any advice. Watch this short clip to find out why: What Happened? The cam car and a Toyota Harrier formed up on the left lane of a two carriageway road. A man clad in a perspiration-soaked Army singlet walks along the pavement from a distance. As he approaches the cam car and Toyota Harrier, the traffic light turns green in both cars' favour. Instead of stopping by the grass patch and checking for oncoming traffic, the man simply hops onto the road and attempts to illegally dash across the road. At this moment, a Toyota Prius drives past the cam car and almost collides with the pedestrian. As a result, the pedestrian performs an "e-brake" to stop himself and does an odd dance-like action. Luckily, the oncoming Toyota Prius also performed an e-brake and avoided colliding with the pedestrian. After this encounter, the pedestrian takes his own sweet time and nonchalantly "jogs" across the road while navigating around several vehicles. Too Shag To Think Logically? Is saving those few minutes spent waiting for the green man so important that it is more important than one's life? The more time I spend dwelling on this incident, the more ridiculous this pedestrian becomes. Netizens' Comments No wonder he got the audacity to perform such an act. Looking at his face, I think he just woke up lah. During National Service, he's the type of guy that your Encik will call blur f@#k!! ======== Receive a $10 PayNow for every submission we publish on Facebook! Hi guys, I have been facing transmission problem with my 2008 Toyota Harrier 2.4A Whenever I shift the auto gear to "D", the car will take 1 to 3 mins to engage into the gear. During the wait, the car is as though it is in "Neutral" gear. I do not face any problem with the "R" gear. The "D" shift responds much better after a 20mins drive (when i reach my destination). This is very annoying as sometimes I have to wait about 3 minutes before moving off from carpark. It also poses a danger when i'm doing a 3 point turn and the car stucks in the middle of the road until the "D" gear decides to engage after 2 to 3 mins. I have checked the auto gear fluid and it is at the optimum level. Gear fluid colour is also in a clear red colour. Anyone here knows what is wrong with the auto gear? Where can I bring it for a repair and how much would it approx. cost?

I’m in the midst of comparing a couple of cars for my next drive . Currently I’m looking at 2014 Harrier VS 2014 IS300h Understand that one is SUV another is sedan which is not my main issue , the thing that I’m thinking about is the reliability of each drive down the road if possible I would want to extend the COE when time come . Which is a better choice ?

Hi guys, I'm a newbie to cars and am looking for some help from all you professionals in this forum. I apologize in advance if I ask stupid questions. Recently me and my dad decided to purchase the harrier as a family car and we would be interested to change a set of rims. My current set is 17 inch, 225/65/R17. I have a couple of questions I hope you guys could help me answer. What is the maximum rim size I can upsize to? What is the recommended size I upsize to? I checked the calculator for the tire size if I actually upsize to 19 inch, is the calculator reliable? What are good rim colors to fit the pearl white harrier? What brands do you guys recommend? From what I read, ppl recommend bbs, enkei, rays, vossen etc. they also said some brands like ssw are not reliable because of the way they are made? May I know how much would my rims and tires be worth if I trade them in immediately when I get the car? Lastly, may I know where is good to check out rims? I really want to see the rays(volks) but I would love to see a wide variety at awesome prices. Thank you very much for taking the time to reply and sorry for asking so many questions.

I notice all the mid size Japanese sedan are off the shelfs due to non euro 6 comply, conservative buyers have nowhere to get their rides. Camry, Accord, Legacy, Teana won't be bringing in stocks till next year. Sonata and Mazda 6 left a few set. Of course Borneo's Harrier 2.0T is coming. Even if quota high and supply low, it may just push down COE.

Currently looking at the elegance version and does anyone know if it can be upgraded to G's kit? Thanks in advance guys!

I am trying to clean this car and found that underneath the rear seat, there are a lot of rubbish dropped and stuck there. However, I can't seem to adjust the rear seat to a position which I can reach those rubbish. For the rear seat, is it just flipping it forward and flat? Or can I do more? I know some cars can (but I don't really know how to describe it) Can someone point me to the tutorial/video to it? Or guide me along? Thanks!

Wanted to buy a new Harrier. But hesitate now as i heard that it has inherent gearbox issues. It results in jerky movement when trying to moving off and gear has tendency to slip. anyone here knows about the this? or if any harrier owners here experienced that issue?
