Apparently, eating solo has become a new trend in Korea. I notice many people behave in a manner that cause unpleasant toward others in the elevator recently So basically this is what I normally do for good practice in elevator - Never block elevator door, let people inside come out first - Hold the door with my hand and give way to let people with wheelchair, stroller and pregnant lady enter first - Shift inside whenever there is space behind me to let people come in - Keep my noise level down inside elevator - If I bring kids, I will ask them to stop jumping and shouting in elevator, and play with floor button - Stop munching my food - Lower my ear piece volume if I find it too loud - Hold the door when people go out or whenever people come in or run from far - Help people with hands occupied to press floor level button - Say thank you to everyone who assist me like holding door etc - Avoid staring at people inside lift as I feel thats very rude unless chiobu then quick stare - Smile at babies but wont touch them, my hand may not be hygiene - Remind my friends lower voice whenever there is someone else in the lift - Wont pick nose - Wont sing I hope everyone does the same practice in the lift, respecting others and had a pleasant lift experience

After driving for many years on the road, I think Singaporeans have some nasty driving habit that we can do without. One of those nasty driving habit is unwillingness to allow other road users to filter into their lane. Once I was trying to filter left at Jurong Town Hall road to enter into AYE (towards town). The vehicle (lorry) on the left refuse to allow me in (I signal to filter very early but he just kept up with the pace and not allow me in). Initially I was thinking "ok, he must be thinking why should he let me in as he is also going towards the same path. Fine, I'll slow down and try to filter in after him (which I eventually did)." Guess what? He was not going to AYE, instead he was going straight towards Pandan/Teban west coast highway! Was it necessary for him to block me when I'm heading away from his route? If I was heading towards Pandan, I could just stick to my lane and not filter left. Wonder why such unfriendly driving habit... Sometimes also kena from SBS buses... I think if most can be a little friendlier on the road, there will be less anger, less accident and smoother traffic...

Would like to know what's your petrol refill habit like? Some will refill if the tank is half, some like to refill whenever they see a kiosk, some will only refill it full tank when the needle touch the E and some even only refill when the lights up! Have your say................

My neighbours have been extremely distressed by a man in his 40s, who throws plastic bags of urine from his unit on the eighth floor twice daily. According to residents in the area, the man has been mentally ill for more than 10 years and is taken care of by his family. His actions have caused unhappiness not only because of the stench and unhygienic conditions but also because of safety reasons. Recently, a foreign worker was drenched with urine while cleaning the block. Residents now fear that this may happen to their children who play in the common areas. Several police reports have been filed and letters of complaints written to the town council and the National Environment Agency. However, the authorities have not been able to alleviate the situation. Residents also approached the man's family but to no avail. We hope the authorities will resolve this issue. i notice many ppl have driffent habit in driving escpially during massive jam. some ppl like to stick 1 cigar out, some ladies will make up thier face, some ppl will slant thier head to 1 side, and prepare to fall asleep. some ppl will take out newspaper dontknow from where and start reading. some will take out hand phone and see got any thing anot, or play game. for me, i will some time play with my hair, or dig my nose. are these all illegal?

Ok I admit I hv a habit of leaving my bags unattended but I only do after taking out important things like wallet, handphone, keys. However, we hv always presume that crowded areas, unlikely places for thieves to strike but it is not true to say that "most dangerous is the safest". It probably is true for those thieves cos everyone is so engrossed in their own affair and locals generally are not that observant let alone civic-minded. Therefore, let's try to make an efforts to keep our soil safe as not all non-locals are here for sightseeing. Couple eyed unattended bags Aug 29, 2008 [/color] A FILIPINO couple who committed a series of thefts in the Orchard Road and Vivo City area has been arrested. The couple, a 28-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man, targeted items left unattended by shoppers at shopping malls and eateries, a police statement said on Thursday. After several probes and numerous stakeouts, police spotted the couple behaving suspiciously at a hotel along Orchard Rd on Aug 28. The couple was caught red handed when they took a handbag left unattended on a chair at the hotel's coffee outlet. The victim's belongings, valued at about $1,000, were recovered intact. An assortment of items such as gold jewellery, laptops, handphones, perfumes and handbags valued at about $20,000 - believed to belong to victims of other thefts - were also subsequently recovered from the couple. The couple will be charged on Friday for theft. If convicted, they face a maximum of three years in jail and a fine. How come no deportment and barred from coming to S'pore for non-locals??? This way would serve as a deterrent plus no need to waste $ on free housing.
