  2. hi all, just discovered a grinding noise this evening from e engine bay. when i on the aircon lever to 1 or 2, there is no sound as the fan will not turn. but once i on the a/c, the grinding noise from the fan will come. anyone knows what is the fan for? radiator fan or condenser fan? thanks alot. driving a swift here.
  3. It's been 2 weeks, noise gar gar.....coming from below. First though it was coming from that lousy tyres installed 4mths ago. Then slowly realised once 4th gear kicked-in the noise started to roar until the car slowed till 2nd gear speed then will the noise stopped. And btw its an old AWD 4 speed AT car. Checked GB fuild and it's full n clear in color, did an AT flush this Feb, for now only can't check the rear diff gear oil lvl. Going w/s tomolo, but if its the rear diff dry up, will the noise start in 4th gear? This stupid noise is like the gear grinding each other non-stop. Anyone experience this issue before?
  4. My 2009 Hyundai Avante is making a grinding sound that seems like metal on metal sound (innk innk innk innk…….). Notice it only happens after the car has been sitting for a while. Once I keep driving, the sound will getting lesser and eventually gone (about 10 mins). This grinding sound also sometimes have sometimes don’t. The sound is quite loud even one kilometer can hear Any bro , encounter this can share what is the problem, where you fix it and how long time needed and how much to fix it? Thanks Btw, driving in such condition dangerous or not?
  5. Anyway know based on the above condition. What could be wrong? I have been experienced some sort of grinding noise around the front area of my vehicle upon steering when I'm moving of my carpark lot usually full lock steering. This only happens when moving off and not an issue when moving or parking into a lot. It only happens when I just did my vehicle alignment few days ago..
  6. a loud grinding noise from the front right of the car occurs only during wet weather. on dry weather, there is absolutely no such sound no matter how i whack the car. but 5 mins into a rain, this noise comes out, when it is loud, it is quite alarming because you might think the car is breaking down any moment. it is not making noise continuously, it on off on off during the journey. i notice it will get louder when i raise rpm, when i release throttle, it subsides. anyone had before, the car is legacy gt 2.5 auto

  8. Hi guys, My 7 year old tarzanboy (Mazda 323) is finally giving me problems. Whenever I start the engine, there's a loud 'grinding' noise from the engine area. I suspect it's either one of the bearings, but not sure if it's the AC compressor, power steering, or just the idling pulley. Once the engine warms up, the noise lessens, but can still hear occasional grinding noise. Another symptom is my idling will be unstable; feel as if my engine would die when my car is stationary. Anyone have any clues as to what's wrong, and maybe what's the estimate cost to repair? Thanks in advance
  9. bro, my 05 vios recently starting to have this grinding sound whenever i brake slowly, which means inching forward, however, during normal braking is it normal. my pads are on their way out, and will be replaced in 1 month time when i next perform my next service. are there any factors that contribute to this grinding sound?
  10. anyone knows where can i grind my cams? (i got a few spare ones) The number one myth about reground cams is that they will wear, because, or if, they are not properly hardened after grinding. The cams are cast iron, and require NO hardening after grinding. The only post grinding process is something called parkerizing, which gives them that flat black.grey look. It is a type of surface treatment that etches the metal, and enhances lubricity (oil sticks to it better) during startup. I got the specs that i want just need someone who can do the job....anyone knows where can i do it??
  11. the first time i had such sound, i thought the brake pads were worn out, i was right, so i went to change the pads, and skim the rotor. however, after about 1k km, the grinding sound came back, what could it be? can only hear it occasionally during braking
  12. Ok, i tried to downshift from 2nd gear to 1st gear at 20km/h but couldn't and if force in got those loud grinding sound. Is it normal? I got friend who drive a Sunny are able to do it at this speed. Anyone got experience with Honda MT gear box can explain?
