Thai boys already lost for a week in a cave. International teams helping in search. https://abcnews.go.com/International/desperate-search-boys-soccer-team-lost-thailand-cave/story?id=56271772 Desperate search for boys' soccer team lost in Thailand cave hampered by rains A nation continued to hold its breath Friday and hope for the safe return of 12 young soccer players and their coach who remain trapped in a flooded cave in northern Thailand after disappearing nearly a week ago. "My son! Come on out! I'm waiting for you here!" one mother could be heard calling into the cave recently as she stood next to her child's bicycle. Tham Luang, Thailand's longest cave and a popular tourist site, is said to be a labyrinth, miles of passageways and tunnels running underground that can flood up to 20 feet during heavy downpours. It's believed that the coach often brought his team to the cave for fun excursions. The boys, who are between 11 and 16 years old, went missing with their coach after he took them to the cave complex after soccer practice June 24. It's believed the group crawled through a narrow channel that may now be flooded after days of heavy rainfall.

What in the world is wrong with America? Or is this just another day in America? So much for let's make America great again. They're getting closer and closer to realising what happened in the movie The Purge. https://sg.news.yahoo.com/louis-vuitton-stores-chicago-san-193329650 Police in suburban Chicago and downtown San Francisco are investigating brazen thefts of Louis Vuitton merchandise from stores in both cities. On Wednesday afternoon 14 suspects entered the Oakbrook Center Mall, west of Chicago, Fox 32 reported. The armed guard at the Louis Vuitton store was reportedly on a short break at 3.30pm when the group entered and began grabbing merchandise from the displays.

Understand this topic is not that relevant over here because most of us drive with windows wound up. And most often than not we are trying to get away from bad smell when on the road, like behind a garbage truck or bus. But I think most would not believe that we do have a road in Singapore that smell great, albeit only for a few months per year I believe, and it stretches over more than 10km! If in a garden setting then that would be nothing to crow about haha. And most of us would not have noticed it anyway unless we are insane enough to punish ourselves by riding over the stretch of road, which will mean cycling for more than 40km each trip at least. Ok I am talking about this notorious Changi Coastal Road which many of us would avoid like plague as there seems to be no reason to get there unless we are going to the Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal for some business. I have been pounding this stretch of road in recent months every weekend from Bedok Jetty vicinity to hit Changi Point hawker center for a treat of refreshing coconut before pushing myself back. Not a lot but definitely good exercise nonetheless. And roughly 2 weeks ago I started to smell some strong fragrance along the stretch while I was pushing myself hard and catching breath. Then I realised that some wise guy in NPark had planted some flowering trees alternately along the whole stretch of road! So when the small trees started to bloom recently, the air around the stretch of road smell really nice, much like the common garden plant that smell great with tiny white flowers. So if you want to try something different, why not try cycle the road for a change. The scenery sucks, but the smell is great. Better hurry while it last haha.

Couple of weeks ago, took a 2 week holiday to Melbourne. Loved it lots. While on holiday, we also did a 5 day Great Ocean Road/Mornington Peninsula Road trip. Road trip day 1 > Started out in Melbourne CBD (Southbank airbnb), after breakfast. > Short stops to view sights at Torquay, Angelsea, Aireys Inlet > Lunch at Lorne > Erskine Falls > Short stops to look for Koalas at Kennett River Holiday Park > Airbnb at Apollo Bay (& dinner) Road trip day 2 > Airbnb at Apollo Bay (breakfast at Hello cafe) > Maits Rest rainforest walk > Cape Otway lightstation > Gibson Steps > 12 Apostles > Loch Ard Gorge > Port Campbell for lunch > London Bridge > Bay of Islands > Camped at London Bridge for 1 hr after sunset (in the bitter cold) to look at penguins but nothing in sight! > High tailed it back to Apollo Bay for dinner before the PUB kitchen closes at 9pm (made it at 830!)

A long hiatus from my regular car filming as you might had noticed, if you had been following my YouTube channel, I haven't been working on any car related filming for quite some time. Basically I had not had a good supply of cars of interest to film, and also because I just started on video blogging for my channel. Amazingly I had the opportunity to work with an Australia mate who would collaborate with me on the shooting, while I edit / produce the final film. This is our first collaborated YouTube video.. Do check this out, great beautiful car ! https://youtu.be/V9x0B_3y4TE

Hiya brudders! Anything that caught your eyes and you itching to buy? For me, I'm eyeing a couple off things . . . LED Full HD TV, maybe an iPad and now dunno whether to get HTC Desire or Samsung Galaxy S. Problem is my current TV is working fine and that it is a MIJ Sony, lasted me 8 years and still going strong so LED TV is out. iPad is a want so forget it . . . Now the big question is Desire or Galaxy S? Gotta do some research but very likely going for HTC. How about you guys? Buying any thing during the GSS? Is it really cheaper or is it just a gimmick this GSS??

Edward Snowden again! Hot topic in Europe but here... not reported. For everybody's awareness. Your mobile phone might not be secured. Uncle Sam might be reading your smses... HOW SPIES STOLE THE KEYS TO THE ENCRYPTION CASTLE https://firstlook.org/theintercept/2015/02/19/great-sim-heist/ AMERICAN AND BRITISH spies hacked into the internal computer network of the largest manufacturer of SIM cards in the world, stealing encryption keys used to protect the privacy of cellphone communications across the globe, according to top-secret documents provided to The Intercept by National Security Agency whistleblower Edward Snowden. The hack was perpetrated by a joint unit consisting of operatives from the NSA and its British counterpart Government Communications Headquarters, or GCHQ. The breach, detailed in a secret 2010 GCHQdocument, gave the surveillance agencies the potential to secretly monitor a large portion of the world’s cellular communications, including both voice and data. With these stolen encryption keys, intelligence agencies can monitor mobile communications without seeking or receiving approval from telecom companies and foreign governments. Possessing the keys also sidesteps the need to get a warrant or a wiretap, while leaving no trace on the wireless provider’s network that the communications were intercepted. Bulk key theft additionally enables the intelligence agencies to unlock any previously encrypted communications they had already intercepted, but did not yet have the ability to decrypt.

Was very very lucky this morning around 6.35am whilst waiting at a traffic light junction below CTE and Lor Chuan. Was coming from TP and on the way to pickup a colleague at Lor Chuan and the traffic light was 'red'. While waiting for light to turn green, a sudden bright flash beside my vehicle and followed by one very loud bang (thunder). Not the normal rolling thunder sound but one big bang. My car got jerk and I was stunned for a second. Suddenly the traffic lights were 'red' in all directions and vehicles stopped at all side. Without second thought (as all cars stopped), I move off first cos for that junction, very heavy vehicle traffic coming from CTE to Braddell. Upon reaching Australian International School, I stopped my vehicle and feeling cold sweat on my palms. I reliased that I just escape death by a meer 3 meters when the lightning striked beside my vehicle. It took me 2 minutes to recover along Lor Chuan and proceed with my journey. Things happen so fast and I drag to think of the incident at Rochor where 3 lives were taken away in seconds. As the saying goes "Ta Nan Pu Shi, Pi Yu Hou Fu".

THIS IS A GREAT PIECE . One young academically excellent person went to apply for a managerial position in a big company. He passed the first interview, the director did the last interview, made the last decision. The director discovered from the CV that the youth's academic achievements were excellent all the way, from the secondary school until the postgraduate research, never had a year when he did not score. The director asked, "Did you obtain any scholarships in school?" the youth answered "none". The director asked, " Was it your father who paid for your school fees?" The youth answered, "My father passed away when I was one year old, it was my mother who paid for my school fees. The director asked, " Where did your mother work?" The youth answered, "My mother worked as clothes cleaner. The director requested the youth to show his hands. The youth showed a pair of hands that were smooth and perfect. The director asked, " Have you ever helped your mother wash the clothes before?" The youth answered, "Never, my mother always wanted me to study and read more books. Furthermore, my mother can wash clothes faster than me. The director said, "I have a request. When you go back today, go and clean your mother's hands, and then see me tomorrow morning.* The youth felt that his chance of landing the job was high. When he went back, he happily requested his mother to let him clean her hands. His mother felt strange, happy but with mixed feelings, she showed her hands to the kid. The youth cleaned his mother's hands slowly. His tear fell as he did that. It was the first time he noticed that his mother's hands were so wrinkled, and there were so many bruises in her hands. Some bruises were so painful that his mother shivered when they were cleaned with water. This was the first time the youth realized that it was this pair of hands that washed the clothes everyday to enable him to pay the school fee. The bruises in the mother's hands were the price that the mother had to pay for his graduation, academic excellence and his future. After finishing the cleaning of his mother hands, the youth quietly washed all the remaining clothes for his mother. That night, mother and son talked for a very long time. Next morning, the youth went to the director's office.. The Director noticed the tears in the youth's eyes, asked: " Can you tell me what have you done and learned yesterday in your house?" The youth answered, " I cleaned my mother's hand, and also finished cleaning all the remaining clothes' The Director asked, " please tell me your feelings." The youth said, Number 1, I know now what is appreciation. Without my mother, there would not the successful me today. Number 2, by working together and helping my mother, only I now realize how difficult and tough it is to get something done. Number 3, I have come to appreciate the importance and value of family relationship. The director said, " This is what I am looking for to be my manager. I want to recruit a person who can appreciate the help of others, a person who knows the sufferings of others to get things done, and a person who would not put money as his only goal in life. You are hired. Later on, this young person worked very hard, and received the respect of his subordinates. Every employee worked diligently and as a team. The company's performance improved tremendously. A child, who has been protected and habitually given whatever he wanted, would develop "entitlement mentality" and would always put himself first.. He would be ignorant of his parent's efforts. When he starts work, he assumes that every person must listen to him, and when he becomes a manager, he would never know the sufferings of his employees and would always blame others. For this kind of people, who may be good academically, may be successful for a while, but eventually would not feel sense of achievement. He will grumble and be full of hatred and fight for more. If we are this kind of protective parents, are we really showing love or are we destroying the kid instead?* You can let your kid live in a big house, eat a good meal, learn piano, watch a big screen TV. But when you are cutting grass, please let them experience it. After a meal, let them wash their plates and bowls together with their brothers and sisters. It is not because you do not have money to hire a maid, but it is because you want to love them in a right way. You want them to understand, no matter how rich their parents are, one day their hair will grow gray, same as the mother of that young person. The most important thing is your kid learns how to appreciate the effort and experience the difficulty and learns the ability to work with others to get things done.
