Young punk knocked out in one punch from older man in parking lot fight!
chitchatboy posted a blog entry in MyAutoBlog
Have we found Singapore's 'One-punch-man'? For those who don't know that character, it is a Japanese superhero franchise who features Saitama, a superhero who can defeat any opponent with a single punch and seeks to find a worthy foe after growing bored by a lack of challenge due to his overwhelming strength. Shared among various whatapp chats and from Facebook pages from late last night is this video where by 4 men could be seen fighting in Golden Mile Complex carpark. At around the 27 second mark, this grey singlet dude threw a big one at one of the men, knocking him out clean. Not that we encourage fighting but that is pretty 'One-punch-man' moment. It is unclear what started the fight. Check out what netizens have to say about this incident! -

As part of a cruise ship stop in June 2014, we were in Reykjavik, Iceland for a day. We decided to rent a car and self-drive the Golden Circle route. Although we didn't have too much time, we managed to see Thingvellir (briefly), Gullfoss Waterfalls (the highlight!) and Geysir/Strokkur. From a car point of view, a nice surprise was that the car company gave us a Volvo XC90 to drive! Cool stuff. Prior to this, I had never driven a Volvo before, let alone their flagship SUV. Back home, I drive a Corolla, so obviously this was going to be fun! As expected, the car performed very well. It was quite new, about 35,000km on the odometer. It was a diesel! How would I describe the car? It was an automatic transmission. The engine was definitely very responsive and I could overtake very easily. The car felt very stable. In terms of drive, it was smooth and comfortable, unlike say the Honda (or subsequently the BMW which I would get to drive later this trip). I am not the 'must-feel-the-road' type of person so I like the Volvo feel over the BMW feel. Source http://therealsingapore.com/content/ava-ki...-they-would-not THIS IS A PICTURE OF AN 11 YEAR-OLD GOLDEN RETRIEVER THAT AVA PUT DOWN JUST LAST WEEK despite my family's best efforts against it. AVA has left my family and I distressed and very angry. In the span of three weeks, they have shown that they are an organisation that is not to be trusted, disorganized and negligent toward the care for the animals that they take in. We approached the organisation to help us find the owners of a lost Golden Retriever we had found along Upper Changi Road on February 27. The dog was dirty, with prominent skin irritations and no collar. She was clearly in need of care, so we took her home to bathe and feed her. We then brought her to the vet to check if she was micro-chipped With the serial number, we contacted AVA's customer service and reported the found dog. Our first intention was to return the dog to her owners. Since she was found around our neighborhood it was apparent to us that she belonged to a home nearby. Due to regulations, AVA was unable to disclose the owner's details. We have two dogs of our own and decided to have AVA take the dog in till the owner was contacted. We clearly stated our interest in helping the dog get re-homed or even adopting her ourselves. We were told the AVA service staff would pick her up within the day. On the phone, there was even mention of them visiting the dog owner's home because it was around the area. When they arrived to take her, we TOLD THEM SPECIFICALLY NOT TO PUT HER DOWN, and to contact us if they were unable to reach the owner. The Chinese gentleman who came to pick her up, assured us that they would not put her down. He even cancelled the "disposal" off the

Happen to see this ad on tv and google...wow what a nice place! Any bros here been to this resort and stayed there before? if have please provide field report can? Had checked out on the pricing, not really cheap in Msia standards (about SG$200+ for a 1rm suite) but is ok to us though due to our superior exchange rate. And it looks similar to the other palm tree resort in Dubai, which costs even higher. A "Golden Age" for Asia lies ahead, says Tony Tan Taipei: The next decade could be a "Golden Age" for Asia. Dr Tony Tan said this is based on the strong fundamentals in Asia that sees it recovering well from the Great Financial Crisis of 2008/9. Dr Tan, deputy chairman and executive director of the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC) put forward the view in a keynote speech on Monday at the 2010 Commonwealth Economic Forum held in Taipei. He observed that recovery should be sustained over the year, with global growth possibly hitting 3 to 4 per cent in 2010, up from a contraction of close to 2 per cent last year. The stronger than expected global recovery, he noted, could further surprise on the upside, at least for the next few quarters and settle into its long-term trend in 2011. Dr Tan also said in his keynote address that the post-crisis environment will be different in at least three aspects: greater reliance on policy makers, the dominance of emerging markets, and the relative under performance of the developed world. This in turn, he stressed, poses four challenges for Asia. The first is for Asia's financial development to find the right balance between the private and public sectors. Next, Asia will have to be able to respond in a flexible manner to a volatile environment and also develop a more balanced and sustainable growth model. Finally, he said, Asian financial institutions will have to gear themselves to take advantage of an unparalleled opportunity to develop and mature. The challenges ahead for Asia are difficult, he admitted. At the same time, he said he is optimistic that Asia can overcome the odds because Asia's fundamentals are generally sound, with policy makers who are flexible and a population that is hardworking and educated. Dr Tan said that if Asia sets about learning the right lessons from history, especially those of the recent Great Financial Crisis, the region will be able to re-tool and re-orientate itself to propel into the next stage of development and make the next decade a "Golden Age" for Asia. Dr Tan also said that Asian countries must seize emerging opportunities, particularly, in the banking and financial sectors. "The globalised Western banking system, hampered by capital constraints and re-regulation, will likely not be able to intermediate the massive capital demand needed to finance Asian growth," Dr Tan said. "This leaves the playing field unusually open for Asian financial institutions and markets, particularly for the next few years," he added. While the West takes longer to recover from the financial crisis, the role of developing countries in the global economy is likely to increase. Dr Tan said: "We must expect there will be more opportunities and investments in these markets. So following the strength, GIC will be investing more money in emerging markets, particularly in Asia in this decade. "China's economy, for example, will reach two-thirds of the US in 20 years. One must expect to have many opportunities there." Helped by the strong rebound in the emerging markets, Dr Tan said that GIC's balance of portfolio has come back from double-digit losses in the previous year. "Equity has come back to its normal level; stock market has done well. So GIC will do well," Dr Tan said. Although the future looks rosy, Dr Tan warned that policy makers in emerging markets will have to well handle rising inflation and likely asset price bubbles. Those who fail to manage these challenges could snuff out the growing economies.

After 30 years, I've come across this plant at a night bazaar. Has any one seen this plant before and what is the name ? The florist told me the name in dialect, but I don't think I've remembered it. The 'fur' looks and feels like human hair and apparently has healing properties against cuts and open wounds. You can just pull the 'hair' and it comes off like cotton candy. The plant I bought looks like a lion. Not sure if it is a lucky plant tho. So far didn't strike any lottery.

dunno how true, but i received this in my email frm a fren. read on and decide Research done by Singapore U shows that eating this mushroom can destroy 95% of cancer cells in our body by boosting our immune system. Professor Phan Hwai Chong of Yang Ming Research Centre in Taiwan told Reporter that consuming this kind of mushroom, one of the ingredients in the mushroom can trigger the multiplication of our healthy 'defensive' cells. By out-numbering the cancer cells, healthy cells help eradicate cancer cells. American scientists have since run tests on this particular type of mushroom extract with blood, done outside human body. Results show that mushroom extract is able to destroy cancer cells. According to Taiwan professor, since healthy 'fighting' cells can be multiplied to tens & thousands of times, it can either be used as drip or just by eating mushroom. The mushroom is most frequently taken with steam boat. Cooking time should be less than 3 minutes, or the healing property would greatly diminish.
