The Galaxy Fold, unveiled at a San Francisco event, serves as a smartphone with a 4.6-inch display and unfolds to become a tablet of 7.3 inches. SAN FRANCISCO: Seeking to rev up demand in the slumping smartphone market, Samsung on Wednesday (Feb 20) unveiled a folding handset, becoming the first major manufacturer to offer the feature. The South Korean giant also appeared to get the jump on rivals by announcing the first device for fifth-generation, or 5G wireless networks, one of four versions of its flagship smartphone, while stepping up its efforts in artificial intelligence and wearables. The Galaxy Fold, unveiled at a San Francisco event, serves as a smartphone with a 4.6-inch display and unfolds to become a tablet of 7.3 inches. "We are giving you a device that doesn't just define a new category, it defies category," said Samsung's Justin Denison at the event. The Fold will be available on Apr 26 starting at US$1,980, the company said. Samsung also announced its new Galaxy S10 handset, upgrading its current line of flagship handsets including one 5G device, getting a jump on rivals expected to make similar announcements at next week's Mobile World Congress. Seem like Samsung Fold is over shadowing the S10 launch. They should have launched the fold 2-3month from the S10 launch. Anyone preordering the S10? Comes with dual wireless charger stand and wireless ear buds for preorders. Wondering if I should upgrade to S10+ from my S9+. The cool thing about it....figuratively and literally is the vapour chamber cooling system. I have used my S9+ as my main shooter recently for a whole day out at Angkor Wat on a blumming hot day. After a while, the phone over heated and can no longer shoot any pictures. Had to let it cool down before I can do any more shooting. Otherwise S9+ is fast, takes decently nice pics. With the new PIE firmware upgrade.. The scene colour correction function bumps up the photos taken quite notch.

My mobile phone of 2 years is started to give problems (extremely short battery life, home button doesn't work, always hang screen etc). It's probably time to get a new mobile. I have come across 2 mobiles, LG Optimus 4X HD or Samsung Galaxy SIII based on functionality and specs. Though the pricing and battery life is much more attractive than SIII, but still very undecided between the two as I have never used a LG phone before. Any comment?

I am looking for a 7" tablet for better portability over my IPad 3 and has narrowed down to the IPad mini or Galaxy Tab 7.7. The latter is older with a price around $528 vs $618 for the mini. Display wise, the tab seem better than the mini with its beautiful Amoled. Design wise both are about as slim and roughly equal size. Which would you choose? Forumers who had used one or both, pls share your experience.

is this posted before? Times are bad......many dealers chut pattern........... is this the same company that 1 of the forumer dad had encounter? =================================== http://ride.asiaone.com/news/general/story...eaving-some-fix Christopher Tan | The Straits Times | Monday, Apr 8, 2013 SINGAPORE - At least four motorists have been left in the lurch after used-car trader Galaxy Carz closed down recently. The Consumers Association of Singapore (Case) received four complaints last month against the trader in Turf City. Case executive director Seah Seng Choon said the complaints pertained mainly to consumers not getting their cars despite having made payments. Mr Tan Meng Wee, 46, is one of those affected. He got his car after paying for it in cash in mid- January. But the fund manager got a rude shock when his Volkswagen Passat was repossessed last week. "I thought it was an early April Fool's joke." Apparently, Galaxy Carz had not transferred ownership of the car to Mr Tan. It was still under the ownership of another dealer, which repossessed the car. In another case, 3-D designer Doreen Wong, 31, sold her Honda Civic to Galaxy Carz last October. The car carried an outstanding loan with Maybank. Galaxy Carz resold it to logistics executive Peter Tan, 49, without settling the bank loan. The bank is expected to repossess the car from Mr Tan soon. All three parties have been trying to reach Galaxy Carz, but to no avail. Its unit at Turf City is closed. Calls made by The Straits Times to its director Cheong Wai Keong went unanswered. The Land Transport Authority said it is investigating the cases with the police, who confirmed reports have been made against Galaxy Carz. Both Mr Tan Meng Wee and Ms Wong have also engaged legal counsel. Singapore Vehicle Traders Association secretary Raymond Tang said it was aware that Galaxy Carz had closed, along with a couple of other used-car dealers since the Government's curbs on car loans kicked in on Feb 26. But Mr Tang said: "We are not sure if they are affected by the loan curbs, or are using that as an excuse to quit." The curbs limit car loans to no more than 60 per cent of the purchase price, and the tenure to no more than five years. The restrictions sent demand diving for cars, as fewer buyers could afford the heftier down payments. This, in turn, brought certificate of entitlement (COE) premiums down. Used-car dealers bore the brunt of the curbs as stocks acquired before the cooling measures were devalued overnight in tandem with lower new car rates. The Monetary Authority of Singapore on Friday granted used- car traders a 60-day reprieve on the financing curbs to help them sell their stock. But industry players said most will still have to bear substantial losses because car prices will remain depressed.

Remember this case. Heard from a car dealer. That the owner gamble @ MBS for 2 days and 2 night. End up losing more than $1 million dollar. Don't know whether true or not... CLOSE to a dozen more motorists are alleged to have been taken for a ride by a now-defunct used-car dealership in Turf City. The Straits Times has learnt that the number of people who have lost tens of thousands of dollars each when dealing with Galaxy Carz, which closed recently, may be more than triple the four cited in an April 6 report:

Have upgraded to ICS on my Note. I am with Starhub. Visually the screen looks sharper and the phone is much faster, have not tried the new functions yet. Only problem - i think my APN got reset and now its connect more to H and H+ (i presumed HSPDA) and not 3G. Called Starhub and they sent me a configuration message but it is not solving the issue. Anyone on Starhub facing this issue and got it solved? Can post your APN settings? Thanks!

Signed up for a Singtel broadband package and was given a Galaxy S3. If top up $198, can get the Galaxy S3 LTE. Is it worth it? Besides the colour scheme and 4G, any other difference?
