Hang cheng pai sial. The amount is pathetic! Senior civil servants to get S$400 one-off payment in place of year-end bonus Read more at https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/civil-servants-year-end-bonus-avc-psd-12144584 SINGAPORE: Most civil servants will get a year-end bonus of 0.1 month this year, with a one-off lump sum payment of S$250 to S$1,500, the Public Service Division (PSD) said on Monday (Dec 2). Senior civil servants in superscale grades will receive a one-off payment of S$400 in place of the year-end bonus or Annual Variable Component (AVC). Civil servants in the lower pay grades will receive a higher lump-sum bonus, with around 2,200 operations support officers receiving the highest amount of S$1,500, said PSD. All civil servants will also receive a 13th-month bonus of one month, to be paid in December together with the year-end AVC and lump sum payments. The PSD said it "will exercise restraint" for bonus payments this year due to "prevailing economic uncertainties". The Ministry of Trade and Industry has forecast that the economy will grow by 0.5 per cent to 1 per cent in 2019, with the growth for the fourth quarter of 2019 expected to remain modest. "This approach was agreed upon in close consultation with the public sector unions to give the strongest support to civil servants in the junior grades, in view of the uncertain economic climate," said PSD. In July this year, civil servants received a mid-year AVC of 0.45 month and a one-off lump sum payment of S$200, with a higher lump sum of S$300 for those at lower pay grades. i am surprise that there is actually one MP who saw the merit of such a proposal ST- The Government will not create a different Certificate of Entitlement (COE) category for first-time car buyers, said Minister of State for Transport Josephine Teo in Parliament Tuesday. Responding to Dr Intan Azura Mokhtar (Ang Mo Kio GRC) who made that suggestion, Mrs Teo said the main difficulty was that it is hard to say why a second-time buyer is always less deserving than a first-time buyer. She cited an example of a growing household which has had more children and are planning to buy a bigger or second car. A COE system which favours first-time buyers would not be fair to this family, she said. She added: "Our current Vehicle Quota System (VQS) is not a perfect system but still the most appropriate way to allocate a limited and non-basic resource."

Sunday, January 02, 2011ERP fine My car pass a ERP gantry point with the ERP card not properly inserted. I discovered it immediately and called to inform LTA. They said, "wait for the notice". The ERP notice came one week later. The ERP fee was $1 and the fine was $10. I wonder why the LTA refused to collect the $1 from me, when I found the mistake. They wanted to impose the fine of $10 for the oversight. This is inconsiderate. They government wants to make a profit from an honest mistake! I am aware that the LTA did have some administrative work to print and mail the notice. But this is work that they create for themselves under their system. If they have a friendlier system, they could have taken my report and notify the computer that the matter was settled. But, the LTA preferred to follow their own procedure, for their own convenience, and impost a cost on the citizens. I hope that our government leaders and civil servants realize that they have to treat the people fairly and not impose a burden on them. Tan Kin Lian Report Nuff said.....

Recently I came across a blog (cannot find the link, sorry sorry) about the author who forgot to pay the S&C to the TC, the lapse by him and his wife resulted in him unable to renew the season parking on HDB website. He rants that the website was unnecessarily complex and unhelpful because when he tried to renew, it just told him cannot and need to see HDB. So off he goes taking leave and waits for the service person. He was told he cannot renew until he cleared his debt to the TC for the S&C. Cut long story short, isn't it amazing that you are prohibited from renewing your season parking if you did not pay S&C charges? Its not related right? and the best part is this thing is link on the e-gahmen thing. do you mcf bros have any such experience elsewhere?
