IPOH: Two boys and two girls in Form One have claimed that they were assaulted by a teacher at their school in Sitiawan after he became angry over an incident involving a playful act by a group of students. In the incident, which occurred at 5.20pm at SMJK Nan Hwa on Wednesday, the teacher, who is in his 30s, was said to have become irritable at a group of students who were playing with water outside a classroom. When one of the girls accidentally poured water on the teacher’s clothes, he punched her in the face, causing bruises. The teacher then entered his classroom to start his class. But, when he learnt that three students, including a girl, had forgotten to bring their notebooks, he became enraged and allegedly punched them. One of the boys was left bleeding after the assault. The students were sent for treatment to a hospital while their parents lodged police reports against the teacher. Chairman of the school board of governors Ling Leong Peng said the affected students were traumatised and had been advised not to attend school until action is taken against the teacher. Ling claimed that this was not the first time the teacher had resorted to violence. Last month, he allegedly punched a student at the school. He was also said to have hit the principal of another school where he was teaching earlier. He said the teacher’s previous cases were reported to the Manjung education office, but he claimed that no action was taken. “We want the authorities to suspend him and do something about his behaviour. This cannot go on,” he added. Manjung OCPD Asst Comm Jaafar Baba confirmed the incident.

Now 19, Vitria Depsi Wahyuno had lied about her age in 2009, saying she was 23 to meet the minimum age requirement, and landed a job in Singapore working for Sng Gek Wah, the Straits Times said. Wahyuno, who had been employed for only five days when the killing took place, pleaded guilty on Wednesday to culpable homicide and prosecutors have asked for a 20-year-jail term. The defence, pleading for leniency, said Wahyuno was of low intelligence and could not cope with a demanding employer who called her hurtful names like "bodoh", an Indonesian and Malay word for "stupid". Neighbours told the Straits Times that Sng was a "fierce" woman who could often be heard scolding Wahyuno. Other local papers said Sng had gone through seven maids, including Wahyuno, since 2003. Sng's daughter and granddaughter described her in a statement delivered in court as a strong, resourceful and meticulous woman who was kind-hearted but could be impatient at times, the Straits Times said. The victim suffered fractured ribs, cuts and bruises after being hit with a vase and smothered with a pillow before her neck was squeezed, according to autopsy results. Sentencing is scheduled for March 7. Encountered this aunty driver in a Getz at West Mall basement carpark. Slow like a sloth, as if lost in a underground catacomb looking left and right. Was in no hurry myself following her a car length away most of the time except when she stops at turning junctions then just a feet behind. Went all the way to B2 and she glared at me when she was parking. Gave me that WTF kind of look. Fierce arrhh. ..... Hope she dun go scratch my car

Someone filmed this auntie chasing a guy off a MRT reserved seat after she screamed at some other folks. Though the auntie's ranting was a bit excessive & scary, do give up reserved seats inside trains for those who really need it, especially pregnant women...
