Hello guys... Am facing a frustrating problem here.....I've got this knocking sound on the left front side of my EP70 when driving (around the left axle area), the knocking sound usually comes when moving on moderately bumpy roads. This happened some 3-4 months ago untill it got unbearable, at first it was knocking sounds when travelling straight, then it just got unbearable when the knocking sound would happen even when I turn steer left (yes, only when i steer left, no sound when steer right). I didn't plan on repairing it because she's due to scrap in 2013, but it just got unbearable and for safety concerns as well, I decided to get it looked at. 3 weeks ago, went to my mech, was advised that ball joint bearing worn out badly, he also recommended a change of suspension and suspension mounting. Thinking that its left with 3 years, ok la, do it lor since the price quoted was reasonable for my understanding and that my existing suspension was already quite chui, use 4 fingers can push the car down easily .. Ok, I paid $340 for the following: 1) 2 x ball joint bearing 2) 2 x front suspension 3) 2 x suspension mounting 4) 2 x suspension cover 5) Labour charges After repairing, the knocking sound is still there!...went back and got my wheels aligned, and the sound is still there! Wha, really damn sian to keep going back to the mech every weekend. Well..I'm planning for a trip down to Saber on Hari Raya Eve...for now, any EP70/80 brothers encountered this problem before? Hi Guys, Summary as follow: 1st visit, mech tells me that one of the a/c tube has a tear, thus leaking a/c gas, with that, he proceeded to change a new tubing. After that, a/c works fine for 3 days. 2nd visit, mech tells me that a/c cold ring damaged (something like tht, I can't quite rem what was the item that he said), what that, he proceeded to replace. (This at no further charges because my a/c still not repaired mah). After that, a/c works fine for another 3 days. Pretty frustrated, I called the mech and told him that my a/c is not working again...I've fixed an appointment this saturday for repairs again...this is my 3rd visit in over 4 weeks.....This mech has been a long term service provider turned friend kinda relationship, sometimes I wonder if he does repairs for my car seriously or not... Anyways, I'm thinking, what else could be the problem...could a faulty compressor be a possible cause to such frequent faults? Generally, the whole car is functioning in good condition with a new re-con alternator, new battery, replaced carbuerator..... Regards, Frustrated Butcher with not cold EP70

Hello, Asking on behalf of a friend. He's driving an EP70 with 1 litre engine, which I assume is the 1E. After helping to jump start a car, his dash is now showing the lighted engine symbol, which we assume is the check engine light. What causes the check engine light to come on? Is it some sensor fault in the car? Cheers

hi guys, anyone have any idea which manufacturer still does coilover for EP70/EP71? Current stock shocks/springs are too soft and I have already replaced the shocks and they failed / bottom out after a few months. Please advise on availability. Thanks

hi bros helping my uncle to find a pair of EP70 rear boot mounting is the two suspension to hold the rear boot door. where to get it? price for a new set? and price for a used set? if any1 scraping their car, and willing to giv to him he will be most happy. hahaha. thank you bery much

Went to check out a EP70 for sale this afternoon, and would like to cofirm the following: 1)Is power steering conversion for the EP70 possible? if so, how much would it cost and use parts from which donate car? 2) Changing of drive shaft shouldn't be a expensive exceris i presume. And i can only use the standard EP70 replacement parts only or is there other better alternative. 3) Does standard Yr 1988 EP70 comes with 5 speed gear box or should it be 4 speed only. 4) Lastly, if the rear suspension setup of the EP70 is a torsion beam setup (hopefuly i am right), is it difficult to tune the starlet suspension to be more stable on cornering?
