  1. What happened? A man was killed in an accident on Sunday, 2.05pm at the junction of Dunearn Road and Shelford Road near Tan Kah Kee MRT station. An SCDF paramedic pronounced the man dead at the scene. The accident also involved 3 others. According to the SCDF, one person was taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital, and two others were taken to KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital. The incident caused lane one of the road to be blocked with traffic cones and led to a traffic jam. A silver BMW 3 series is believed to be involved with the accident, as one was seen in front of a police tent on a grass patch next to the blocked off lane one. The car’s rear windscreen was broken and debris covered the side of the road. A driver who passed the site of the accident told The Straits Times that he saw a body lying by the driver’s side of the BMW, and a severed arm in lane three of the road. The driver went on to comment, “I was shocked. I feel sad for the victim.” Security officer Syed Musa, 38, who was in his friend’s car, said they were stuck in the jam for about 30 minutes and went past the accident site at around 3.30pm. When asked by The Straits Times he said, “My wife saw a man, (whom we) believed to be the driver of the car, standing near a tree and being attended to by the paramedics. He seemed to be in a state of shock.” We have no information on what led to the accident or the condition of the other 3 victims. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 2. It is of utmost importance that we keep our brake systems working and healthy at all times. The following video perfectly illustrates why. Seen on 8th of December is a Honda Vezel exiting onto a busy Dunearn Road from one of the smaller lanes. The law-abiding drivers would know that you should never turn into the middle lane but this Vezel bravely crossed the double white line without hesitation. This caused the Honda Civic Type R camera car that submitted the video to SG Road Vigilante to claim that he had to slam on his brakes real hard, causing the brake hose to erm... break. In our opinion, the Honda Vezel driver is a joke but we must point out that the Type R camera car was also going at a good nick in the drizzle. Thankfully, there was no contact between the cars but the camera car driver made sure to give the Vezel driver a piece of his mind (Watch until the final moments of the video).
  3. Sometimes we wonder why cyclists are not licensed. If you aren't convinced, maybe watching a video below like the one below might make you re-consider. Shot on 8th of Nov 2020 with the camera car turning onto Dunearn Road, we can see that the driver stops abruptly before a caucasian cyclist comes into view with his middle finger raised for a split second. Obviously that wasn't very pleasant with the driver who submitted the video to ROAD.sg claiming that the cyclist was going across the road when the Red-man sign was lighted. What do you guys think? Should our traffic police start handing out more fines to cyclists who don't obey the rules of the road? The Netizens sure agree from what we can see...
  4. This morning, Fallen tree hit 3 cars at this junction.
  5. Heard from radio to avoid Dunearn Road near to Goldhill Ave. The stretch of road was closed since early this morning. Didn't report why the road closure. Anyone know the reason ? Going to nearby Barker Road vicinity later and do not want to caugh in a jam....
  6. Need witnesses and contact to the Caucasian Lady who banged into my Hyundai Avante car with regards to the accident that happened along Dunearn Road Turning Into Farrer Road at around 1pm today. I was driving in Lane 2 turning into Farrer Road. The Caucasian Lady car (white Hyundai) is in Lane 1. When traffic lights are in our favor, I drove off first turning within my lane to go to Farrer Road when she banged into my car. I signalled to her to turn into Farrer Road and stopped at the side of the road to discuss and she just drove off straight to Dunearn Road without turning. I came out of the car and she was nowhere to be seen. I went into the car and drove one round back to the spot near Adam Road Food Centre to see if she will be there but nope. Appreciate if there are witnesses and hopefully, the Caucasian lady can contact.
  7. This gas station service staff are simply crap. I was there and wanna alight to get something from the convenient store but was trap behind a queue of car waiting to do wash. I didn't see them cos there was a van blocking so LL stuck there. I see they had cones in between the pumps and gesture to the pump attendant to help shift it so I can drive thru and get out and not be trap behind the queue. The attendant signal cannot so I wind down window to ask nicely and he snapped at me. I was like WTF. Move a cone doesn't kill u so why the fock u snap at me. So I alighted and go ask the foking pump manager why can't they help so he said ok. I ask that foker attendant why he needed to shout at me saying cannot then in front of the manager he diam diam. WTF. I wanna spend money in their store and kena a scolding for a small matter that they can help. If cannot shift then just tell me nicely la. I din know what kind of service training Caltex provides but pls look into this. One experience enough to leave an impression that all service staff from Caltex are the same. I drove away to the next pump and bought my stuff and was greet nicely by that station staff. Kudos to that pump just down from that Caltex.
  8. I have always wondered ever since I was studying in NUS many many years ago, these two roads is always jammed as they serve, NUS, Chinese high, Nayang, Poly, etc. Are they still jammed? why until now never put bus lane? In Stupid hdb towns they put in soooo many bus lane and jammed up the roads, like the entrance road to yishun, etc.
  9. With the recent morning rain, I noticed that the stretch of Dunearn Road from the old F&N factory to Newton Circus will be jammed. And the jam starts after 715 to 730am. On non-rainy mornings, this does not happen. I thought the jam could be due to fallen tree, accident, parents alighting kids etc. But none of the above was observed during the whole stretch. Pretty frustrating when you enter Dunearn at F&N, you straight away get caught in the jam.
  10. Hit the sack the moment I reached home so only got around to posting this when I woke up.... Anybody driving along Dunearn Road (towards Upper Bukit Timah Road direction) noticed a really bad accident in the middle of the road? An Audi A4 was totally smashed in it's rear - the whole boot and bumped disappeared! One of the most serious rear-end accident I've ever seen... and to think it wasn't on the expressway too. A comfort taxi was the offender... no big surprise eh? he must have been speeding to have caused such a great impact, especially on an Audi no less, and in the rear which is usually the strongest part of a car's structure! An ambulance was onsite as well. Sigh.. the roads are becoming more and more unsafe these days.
