Clubbers watch out, your taxi driver might be as drunk as you
Fadevfast posted a blog entry in MyAutoBlog
Taxi drivers are our saviours when we’ve had one too many drinks too late in the night, especially when public transport has ended. But I think no matter how many drinks they've had, even this passenger can tell something has gone horribly wrong. What happened? A cyclist in Anchorvale was having a cool, relaxing ride at the PCN (Park Connector Network) when they saw a taxi that definitely was not supposed to be there. The exclamation of “Yo, what the f*** boi??” sums up everything. The taxi got on the grass in order to turn around and get back on the pedestrian path, continuing it’s adventure to wherever the destination is. We need to know what navigation system or application the driver is using. So we never make the mistake of using it. Online chatter A variety of reasons were made for why the taxi went off course (pls lah, no way this was deliberate). ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. TL;DR - Expat arrested after driving BMW into traffic light at Chinatown and crashing another parked vehicle at Tiong Bahru Pfft, probably got drunk from soju. Watch this 39-second video of the BMW 523i going down in smoke. What happened? A Korean expat was arrested after smashing his 523i into a traffic light in a busy intersection at Chinatown. The driver then crashed into more parked vehicles in the carpark of his condo at Tiong Bahru. The BMW was seen emitting smoke with the bonnet of the car badly dented. The car plate also fell off amidst the ram. The fire brigade was mobilized to put out the fumes. It was reported that the driver was visibly intoxicated and driving erratically before the collision occurred. The impact of the crash was so severe that the traffic light was uprooted and the car was left severely damaged. Did you know? People can be charged with drink-driving in Singapore if they exceed the legal alcohol limit. In Singapore, the limit stands at 35 mg of alcohol for every 100 mL of breath or 80 mg of alcohol for every 100 mL of blood. Online Chat The incident has sent shockwaves not just among the netizens but through the expat community, with many expressing their disappointment and concern about the irresponsible behavior of their fellow expat. Driving under influence is a serious offense in Singapore, and it is even more serious when the suspect is a non-Singaporean. Come Singapore at least obey traffic rules lah... If convicted, he could have his work pass revoked and I guess there goes his job here. En route back to kimchi land soon... Punch also cannot wake up: Driver 'dozes off' on the road
millanda posted a blog entry in MyAutoBlog
TL;DR - A passerby punched and slapped a driver who presumably fell asleep behind the wheel. This is what happens when the Z monsters creep up on you while you’re on the road. Watch this 54-second video of a lady who knocked out in her car and got whacked awake by a passerby. So what happened? A female driver was found sleeping in her Honda Vezel at the roadside in Hougang. A male passerby then came over to her car and attempted to wake her up, but to no avail. He continued by punching and slapping her arm, before she woke up. Perhaps he was just afraid that she might have passed out, or passed away…? Online Chatter: The netizens were clearly not having it, saying that the man should not have used violence on her, especially so when she’s a female. Takeaway Regardless of how comfy your car seat may be, please don’t KO on the road! It is extremely dangerous to sleep in the car, especially with the A/C on. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. A driver came across a motionless/passed out man along Clarke Quay this morning (presumably from alcohol consumption), with one leg sprawled on the road. Some people tried to wake the man up, but it was to no avail and an ambulance had to be called for medical assistance. With bars and clubs easing on the restrictions and being able to fully open from April 19th 2022, one can expect what used to be rare sightings like these to occur more frequently. Only goes to show that Clarke Quay is slowly returning to what it was before. According to Bloomberg, bars in Singapore have been seeing reservations jump after the government had announced that loosening up restrictions for nightlife in Singapore. Though, it’ll be best to drink responsibly and make sure that you have friends to take care of you should you overdo it. Considering it's late at night, an oblivious driver could have easily run over his legs. Netizen Comments Netizens expressed their take on the situation above. Clarke Quay is indeed going back to what it used to be. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. A simple question that I am wondering if it will cause trouble with the law. 3 Scenario. Assuming it is before 2230 and drinking in public area is legal 1) A person drunk person drinking alcoholic drinks in his vehicle while listening music. Engine is off but ignition is on to power up electrical items in the car. 2) A drunk person decides to sleep in his vehicle because drink driving is dangerous. Something engine is off 3) After having some drinks. Hands start to get itchy want to do some modification to the vehicle In all scenario, the vehicle is not in motion and parked at a legal parking space/road Last time heard some stories from my friends that a non license holder, even sitting on the driver seat with engine off is illegal

Suspected drunkard kicks driver's vehicle for nothing 🤷🏼♂️🤨
unicornfloof posted a blog entry in MyAutoBlog
The driver was driving along Geylang Lorong 17 on Saturday night (June 26). He stopped at a crossing to let pedestrians cross the road when a middle-aged man suddenly walked up to his vehicle and gave it a hard kick. In the video, the man can be heard engaging in a confrontation with the driver after kicking the vehicle. The driver even reverses the car to ask the man 'what the problem was'. According to the driver, he had no relations with the man and that there was nothing before the incident that could have explained the unprovoked attack. Drunk or Drugs? Suspecting that he was either drunk or on drugs, the driver wanted to call the police on the spot, but he was faced with taunts from the man, who claimed that the police knew 'who he was'. Towards the end of the video, as the driver can be heard angrily complaining to his passenger about the incident. Although he could not find the culprit afterwards, the driver stated that he has already made a police report regarding the incident and alerted other drivers who frequent the area as well. Netizens' reactions Many netizens managed to joke about the situation, with some encouraging the driver to leave the 'crazy' or 'drunk' man alone to prevent a bigger accident in the future. This is a pretty bizarre incident. --- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. Ok, there isn't much info on what is happening here but from the images and videos that we have seen, this Private Hire Driver looks like he is going to regret not waking up when the Traffic Policer officers ask him too. As seen on various sources including SG Road Vigilante, a Renault Grand Scenic has been pictured knocking down a bunch of motorcycles in an undisclosed carpark. While that might sound like a typical accident, a video that came with the few photos showed the driver refusing to cooperate with the TP when he was told to wake up. We are guessing that the driver might be drunk and is trying to leave the carpark with his MPV. With all the bike owners watching him and Traffic Police catching him red-handed, we reckon he should have plenty of time to snooze behind the bars...

chitchatboy posted a blog entry in MyAutoBlog
Now we bet the the driver of this truck will be regretting really hard about driving after having some drinks. Spotted on Beh Chia Lor's Facebook page and some of our Whatsapp group chats, is this video of a trailer truck crashing into an HDB block at Block 152 Yung Ho Road. It happened on 16 Nov 2020. Thankfully, the tree that the truck knocked down managed to stop it from crashing into one of the first level HDB unit. Rest In Peace, tree... The truck driver has since been arrested for drunk driving. Netizens' comments were naturally not kind to the truck driver... 34c5433d-4976-4664-8e03-ca6af42dface.MP4 -
If u have friends that drink and drive/drive without license or even both, what would u do? Considering that words have fallen on deaf ears, family members are well aware but nth can be done to stop do nth n continue to let ur friend drink n drive hope he kana caught but one day if he drink n drive n kill some innocent guy on the road can u live with the guilt? or be decisive n report him to the police for his own good? those who choose to drink n drive, drive w/o license n kana caught deserve no pity from anyone A police spokesman added: "A 52-year-old male car driver had fled the scene and was subsequently arrested along Canberra Road on the same day for suspected drug-related and traffic-related offences including dangerous driving, driving without a valid licence and taking of motor vehicle without owner's consent."

https://www.straitstimes.com/asia/east-asia/drunk-on-durians-chinese-man-fails-breathalyser-test-after-eating-king-of-fruits?xtor=CS3-18&utm_source=STiPhone&utm_medium=share&utm_term=2019-05-03%2013%3A05%3A36 'Drunk' on durians: Chinese man fails breathalyser test after eating king of fruits Police officers later carried out their own experiment in which an officer ate durian and underwent a breathalyser test. His blood alcohol level was found to be 36mg per 100ml, above the legal limit of about 20mg per 100ml.PHOTOS: SCREENGRAB FROM N.MIAOPAI.COM PUBLISHED 3 HOURS AGO FACEBOOKTWITTERWHATSAPPEMAIL Ng Huiwen A Chinese man who had an unlikely indulgence on a night out was captured on video desperately trying to prove he was sober, after he was pulled over by the police for suspected drink driving. The man, whose identity is not known, did not consume any alcohol but, to his surprise, failed his breathalyser test. A clip on Chinese news platform Pear Video later revealed that he had eaten too many durians. ADVERTISEMENT The man from Rudong county in the eastern province of Jiangsu was shown in the April 17 clip pleading with police officers. "I've just eaten durian!" the man said. According to Pear Video, the man went through a follow-up blood test which proved that he had no alcohol in his system. ADVERTISING Curious, the police department later carried out an experiment of their own. An officer measured his blood alcohol level after eating the fruit and found that the recording was 36mg per 100ml. The legal limit for blood alcohol concentration in China is 0.02 per cent or about 20mg per 100ml, according to the BBC. A couple of minutes later, the officer repeated the breathalyser test and a negative reading was shown. In the Pear Video clip, viewers were also warned against other kinds of products that could result in a positive breathalyser result, such as mouthwash and lychee. While some Chinese social media users were amused that durians could have such an effect, others wondered if the police had wasted their resources on such a minor incident. User LionHeartFY said: "The poor man did not do anything, but had to be injected by a needle and have a vial of his blood taken. I think they owe him a box of durians."

MOTHER OF 5 PLAYED NAKED TWISTER WITH TEEN DAUGHTER IN DRUNKEN PARTY Post date: 16 Apr 2015 - 10:31am A mother-of-five threw her teenage daughter a party, played naked Twister with her friends and then had sex with an 18-year-old in the bathroom, authorities have said. Rachel Lynn Lehnardt, 35, from Evans, Georgia, was arrested on Saturday night and has been charged with two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The details of the drunken party emerged when Lehnardt met with her Alcoholics Anonymous sponsor last Friday and told her about the wild party. The sponsor then contacted authorities. She told the woman that her children, who are aged between four and 16, were with their father when her oldest daughter texted her to ask if she could bring over some friends. Lehnardt allegedly responded: 'Come on, let's party', WJBF reported. When the teenagers arrived, she allegedly allowed them to drink alcohol and smoke marijuana in her home, before she played naked Twister with them in the living room. While the youngsters continued playing, she allegedly went into a bathroom and had sex with an 18-year-old man, the sponsor told authorities. When she returned, she brought out sex toys and started to use them on herself in front of the teenagers, she told her sponsor, Augusta Crime reported. She later went to bed alone and around 3.30am, she awoke to find someone having sex with her, she told her sponsor. 'She stated at first she thought it was the 18-year-old from earlier, but then realized it was the 16-year-old who was in fact her daughter's boyfriend,' Lehnardt's sponsor told deputies.

Of coz as frens we helped her to a stool to rest, but she is really drunk so cant rest on a stool. Hence we decide to shift her to the club lobby where those big sofas are. I went over to carry her..Gosh ! So heavy sia ! I din know a 45kg ger can weigh so much when drunk! I put her left arm over my neck, my left hand grab her arm and my right hand go over her right shoulders. Half way to the sofa, her legs give way and I had to shift my right arm from the shoulders to her waist area. The "journey" is merely 20metres and I oredi exhausted ! Is my carrying technique wrong ? Or I am weak ?

Candy Siow Pei Shan, a waitress, was also banned from driving for 10 years, The Straits Times (ST) reported. Siow, who was driving her boyfriend's car on Feb 12, 2011, lost control of the vehicle at the junction of Bukit Batok East Avenue 3 and Avenue 4, the court heard today. She was driving along Avenue 3 and attempted to make a right turn without stopping at the intersection. She panicked when she saw an oncoming vehicle and her car veered to the left, mounted the kerb and hit 70-year-old Tan Son Seng, who was on the pedestrian walkway, ST reported. Mr Tan was crushed between the car and a traffic light pole, and pronounced dead on the scene. Before the accident which took place in the morning, Siow had also drunk a substantial amount of alcohol between 12am and 5am. She had consumed brandy with her boyfriend at Club Axchange in Tanjong Pagar, and later brandy and beer at a club in the Esplanade. According to ST, Assistant Public Prosecutor Raja Mohan said as Siow had failed her driving test 13 times, she would have known that she was not competent to drive, yet she still chose to do so. Siow, who started sobbing when she was sentenced to jail, was also driving without insurance coverage at that time. WTF 4 months only????? WHAT A JOKE!
