i paid for my season parking label thru AXS but have not received the label. interestingly, my friend's car (a visitor) got fine while i didn't. does this mean there's no need to display parking label for residents? or do i smell a loophole?

How sua ku of me and ignorant of the current diesel engine car prices until yesterday.... Was at Toa Payoh Hub doing some shopping and saw VW having a sale promotions. On display were several models and since I am driving a 7 seaters currently, thought of maybe having a change as it left 4 years. I went straight for their 7-seaters on display. Was looking at their VW Sharan, 2000cc TSI (Euro 5 Diesel engine) on offer with bucket seats all round. Size is slightly bigger than my Picnic, passengers space wise is almost the same but the price of that Sharan was shocking for a diesel engine. Inclusive of COE, the price of Sharan above the range of $225,000+. Didn't know that a diesel engine 7-seaters could cost that much nowadays. The cheapest on displayed was the Golf which above $100k. With my wife and me browsing almost half an hour and no sale engineers approach us. Maybe I was wearing a bermuda & 'T' shirt and to them, we are just another bus & MRT couple feeling shiok touching at their new vehicles on display... Well, will visit BM this weekend to view at the Toyota Previa Hybrid.

STOMPer Boleh sent in a video which shows Malaysian fans attacking Singaporean fans at Horne Road before a football match on June 8. Another STOMPer, Kane, feels that the Malaysian fans should behave themselves when they are in Singapore. A New Paper report (June 8) had stated that a fight had occurred two hours before the match between fans from both sides. It was stated that the fight had started because a Singaporean fan had hurled vulgarities at the Malaysian fans. It is still a big mystery to me till this day that the ruling party apparently did not detect the so-called ground resentment until it was GE time. The latest admission came from PMO Minister LHH who had lost her post as a result of being ousted from her Aljunied GRC. She was the latest office bearer who revealed this in a press conference today. Almost every of her cabinet colleagues had already sounded caution of this wave of dissatisfaction of the government just before & after the GE. The part that puzzles me is that the ruling party MPs serve as advisors to EVERY SINGLE WARD & he or she has an army of helpers, grassroots volunteers & leaders from RCs, CCs, CCCs & whatever Cs to assist him or her in the course of their ground advisory work. These folks apparently also serve as the eyes & ears to alert these MPs of anything that happens on the ground. I mean no disrespect to these selfless individuals who took time off to volunteer their service to the MPs on a regular basis. Question is: WHY IS THE RULING PARTY CAUGHT OFF GUARD BY THE GROUND RESENTMENT? Your views?

just did my 30k svc at 25k mileage. AD recommended do engine flush, went ahead with it. after collected car, engine has less restriction n also slight quieter. one word to describe - shiok! not advertising or paid to spread message - just sincere feedback. also gave a bottle of mitsubishi motors fuel system cleaner for use before topping up petrol; used today b4 pumping petrol.

WTF! I Didn't Know Crude Oil Actually Taste Sweet!

Low levels of sulphur gives the oil a sweet taste and nice smell...... And people back then actually taste the oil to determine its quality..... All I know about our petrol is that its STINKS LIKE HELL!! I don't think I will ever want to taste it...... -

News Article: By Elysa Chen SHE had dark bruises on her face, a broken nose and a gash in her left calf that was so deep that it exposed her bone. Her boyfriend's jaw was dislocated, several teeth were chipped and his lip was torn. He is now in the intensive care unit. The couple had passed out after their scooter collided with a lorry. But no driver stopped to help them. Not the lorry driver, and not the driver of a black car they had passed just seconds earlier, they said. Though still in hospital, Miss Lydia Lau and her boyfriend, Mr Elroy Wong, both 19, have started looking for witnesses to the accident on Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 at about 9pm on June 28. Mr Wong has been riding since he got his Class 2B licence in October. Miss Lau, an events coordinator, contacted The New Paper to appeal for witnesses to come forward. She said: "There were two drivers. Why didn't they stop to help us?" As they had passed out, they could not remember how long they were on the road. Passers-by later helped them up and called for an ambulance. They also alerted the police, said Miss Lau. The couple were on a scooter heading from Miss Lau's home in Hougang to Mr Wong's home in Ang Mo Kio when the accident happened. They were in the middle lane along Ang Mo Kio Ave 3. A black car filtering in from the CTE turn-off cut into their path.To avoid hitting the car, Mr Wong swerved to the extreme right lane and accelerated past the car. Miss Lau said: "We had no choice but to accelerate, because if we had hit the brakes, we would have hit the black car." After they passed the car, the accident happened about 300m down the road at the junction of Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 and Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10. Mr Wong said that the traffic lights at the junction were in his favour but he slowed down when he saw a lorry from the opposite direction inching forward to mak ea right turn. Thinking the lorry driver was giving way, he accelerated. But the lorry moved forward to make the turn. Mr Wong hit his brakes, but he said the front tyres of his scooter locked, causing the rear to skid and hit the back of the lorry. The couple is now questioning why the lorry driver didn't stop to help them. Mr Wong said it is impossible that the lorry driver would not have known about the accident.

the other day, went to geylang for durian and my bil pointed out one weird phenomenon... no matter how jam the geylang area road is daily and nearly 24hrs also heavy traffic, there is not a single ERP gantry along the to-fro strecth and it wont have one for sure it seem.... wonder why it's like that..... some conspiracy theory or that area run by some big brother whom even miw dare not offend??....

This evening, as I was approaching a sheltered dropoff point(DFP) in an HDB estate, this DFP is located along a curved stretch of a small road(one of those leading to a MSCP). Just as I completed the turn and positioned myself closer to the left side to drop off my passengers, there in front of me are two man, one of late 40s, the other younger, both walking abreast of each other on the left side road, coming towards me. Wah liao.. Previous few tanks that I got only 8+km/l, it was 70% city driving. Home to work and to town. Only about 30% on highway, and is during peak hours. Over the weekend, 1 tank and the current 1/4 tank : the FC seems to be about 10+km/l . and So far, is 30% city, 70% highway. Like from Jurong to Punggol, and back, and to Tuas, etc... I am using Auto. city driving that bad ah... And I am consciously being lightfooted already. And for a while, I thought it was the engine that is drinking like hell...

After changing rims and tires, FC didn't take a hit at all. Still maintaining 12.5-13km/L. Shows that if you size your tires correctly and also if you are more discerning about rim weight, you can still maintain your FC. I guess the 20wt oil didn't improve the FC a bit. Maybe I it is the traffic conditions. But it will be interesting to see how it protects. The positive comments from my wife is that the engine sounded smoother, quieter and more tame. No roughness to it. Or maybe it did because the wheels sized larger. Who knows! But protection is more important which I will find out in 2 months time.

Was told by my colleague who drove up to Genting over the weekend that he saw a Silver Octavia broke down somewhere along the way to Genting. Shucks! It was the hilly area too! Wonder what happened...
