Where would you suggest to shop for variety of designs/unique? I have walk through some jewellery shops in Vivocity, i think their collections are quite limited and most are common designs. Or should I just search and compare among the online websites? 🤔

Taken from Yahoo News: 5 Reasons to Skip the Diamond Engagement Ring Wise Bread, On Wednesday 11 August 2010, 1:12 SGT You're ready. You have the entire scene planned out in your head, every detail plotted and mapped until it's perfect. At the climax of this mini-drama, he will bend on one knee and present to you a beautiful diamond ring -- or, if you're the one proposing, you will watch as her expression changes from surprise to utter delight when she sees the ring. And that's when you'll know: Yes, you're getting married. Or so the diamond industry would like you to believe. The sole purpose of this appealing fantasy is to drum up sales. Once you look past the mythos of the diamond engagement ring, you'll see that it's not much more than a shiny rock. Here are five good reasons to skip the diamond engagement ring. 1. It isn't an ancient tradition -- just marketing For all intents and purposes, "A Diamond is Forever" and the idea of a diamond engagement ring is Sprite's "Obey Your Thirst" and Nike's "Just Do It." It is Gary Dahl's "Pet Rock." De Beers controlled supply by buying up and closing down any diamond mine discovered, and they controlled demand by making it sentimental. Although the campaign is less than 70 years old, it has made the diamond engagement ring the ultimate symbol of how much the relationship, the girl, and love itself is worth. 2. Diamonds are rare! Or not It's true, diamonds are abundant. For generations, De Beers had stockpiled most of the world's diamond supply and effectively monopolized the industry. Their dominance has weakened over the last decade, but De Beers and its competitors still control the supply of diamonds entering the market. While most gems are valued based on their rarity, diamonds are different. Their scarcity is artificial -- and so is their value. 3. Other options look just as impressive and cost much less Moissanite looks just like a diamond; the difference is undetectable with the naked eye. In fact, moissanite is actually more brilliant. If, for whatever reason, you're stuck on the diamond ring idea, synthetic or "cultured" diamonds are the real deal. They're made in a machine that replicates the environmental forces that make diamonds. They're real diamonds, only with less flaws. A synthetic 2-carat pink diamond costs just a few thousand dollars, and a 1-carat moissanite ring is under $1000. 4. You can invest in something more meaningful/useful/fun than a piece of jewelry Many women simply enjoy having a beautiful collection -- and that's fine (if you can afford it). For most people, though, a diamond engagement ring is fun to show off for about 30 seconds. But it's special, right? Because it marks your engagement and symbolizes your love? Remember, that's De Beers's marketing campaign talking. Three-plus months' salary would be better spent on furnishing your home, an amazing trip, or your future kids' college funds! 5. It's hard to get around the ethical issues surrounding the diamond industry Terrorist groups use conflict/blood diamonds to finance their activities. Rebel groups use them to fuel conflict and civil wars. In these conflict zones, children are being used as soldiers. The Kimberley Process is an agreement that was established to prevent conflict diamonds from getting into the market, but the self-policing system is far from perfect. One way to fool the Kimberley Process is to smuggle and mix conflict diamonds with legally traded ones before being certified -- and you, the buyer, would be none the wiser. Regards,

source: http://www.divaasia.com/article/17016 Zhang Ziyi in paid sex scandal with Bo Xilai: Reports Actress Zhang Ziyi is allegedly under investigation by the Chinese government for being paid to have sex with disgraced former top government official, Bo Xilai. She is reportedly barred from leaving the country. Hong Kong's Apple daily and other Chinese media reported that the pair was first introduced by Bo's associate, Xu Ming, 41, who is the founder and chairman of Dalian Shide Group. Sources say Xu confessed to paying Zhang 6 million yuan (S$1.2 million) in 2007, to have sex with her for the first time. He later negotiated a deal for Bo to have sex with Zhang, for 10 million yuan (S$2 million). Reports say the 33-year-old actress slept with Bo at least 10 times between 2007 and 2011 in Beijing. The Chinese media also estimated that Zhang's sexual transactions with various rich and powerful figures have netted her 700 million yuan over the last 10 years. This includes 180 million yuan in cash from Xu. Her wealth from prostituting herself was not taxed, due to intervention from Xu and other government officials. Xu reportedly pimped the Chinese actress out to two other high-level officials as well. Media news outlets speculate that investigations into these allegations could explain why Zhang was absent from the recently concluded Cannes film festival. Her film, Dangerous Liaisons, premiered at the festival, which her co-star, Hong Kong actress Cecilia Cheung, attended. Zhang claimed she was busy shooting the film, "The Grandmasters", and was unable to attend the festival. According to Hong Kong and Taiwanese media reports, the actress has remained uncontactable for comment on the allegations. Zhang was previously embroiled in other scandals. In 2010, she was accused of exaggerating the funds raised for the Sichuan earthquake. Instead of the US$1million (S$1.34million) announced in 2008, the star only managed to raise US$400,000. In 2009, Zhang was accused of cheating a married businessman of S$41.2 million, with whom she was alleged to be sexually involved with, while still engaged to Israeli billionaire Vivi Nevo. Nevo and Zhang reportedly split up in 2010.

Collecting model scale cars can be a quite expensive hobby especially those who are particular with the amount of real-life details copied onto the scale models. Prices can range from a mere $5 up to the hundreds and even thousands, for those limited editions made by high-end scale model car companies. This Lamborghini Aventador scale model is rather unique. The reason why I would say that is because the value is much more expensive (worth around US$4.7 million) than a real life one. This scale model is made by a German scale model builder named Robert Gulpen and he made this item using very expensive materials. The model is roughly 1/8 the size of a real Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4. It is built entirely out of precious metals; such as gold and platinum, diamonds and even carbon fibre. This is not the first time he had built something like this. Previously, he had built a solid gold 1/18 Bugatti Veyron scale model. With his previous successful model scale Veyron, Gulpen intends to seek out a new scale build with the Aventador as he feels that he car has an uncompromising design. The result is rather spectacular. The car features solid gold suspension design, platinum cast wheels, gold plated carbon fibre body panels and seats lined with over 700 diamonds. If these luxurious items are not enough, Gulpen will add more exclusive modifications to the scale model. The scale model car will be put on auction and Gulpen hopes to raise more than US$670,000 through the auction. He also hopes to enter into the Guinness Book of World Records for creating the world

Hi Folks, another of my choice questions as I have many dilemmas in my life. I'm in the market for a new phone, and after getting psycho'ed by friends, I like to get a handy dandy smartphone. Apparently my own lao pok Nokia 7260 cannot make it anymore. I have narrowed down to iPhone and HTC Diamond, as both has 3.5 inch display - as my first most important criteria is big display. But as far as technology goes, I'm a dummy. So please help me with as much inputs as possible. Consider cool factor, user interface, responsiveness (because I need it to be easy to answer / reject calls when I'm driving), telco subscription - what are the gotchas which I may not be aware of and so on. Thanks all! You need not be an expert, even your own bias opinion also valuable! BTW... is the traditional handset market dying yet?

Fuk ME! No wonder people don't wanna get married these days. 0.31 cart for $3k!? My pee sai is bigger! These jewellery shops really know how to milk money from man siah. I think they make more money from man buying proposal ring then all those female walk-in customers put together And best I visit all their websites and none of them bothers to put a price to their product!!! Meaning they are smiling with a butcher knife waiting for su*kers like us. I think I go Myanmar buy and get it set better.
