I'm close to saying LAZADA YOU SUCK but then at the back of my head there's a voice telling me, don't say that, sgCarMart crashed for nearly three days just few months back. A brand new Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 8 passenger jet has crashed on a flight from Addis Ababa to Nairobi. The flight is believed to have had 149 passengers and eight crew members on board, the airline says. A spokesman said the crash happened at 08.44 local time on Sunday, shortly after take-off from the Ethiopian capital. In a statement, the airline said that search and rescue operations were under way. It did not provide details on the number of casualties. "Ethiopian Airlines staff will be sent to the accident scene and will do everything possible to assist the emergency services," the airline added. First word of the crash came on Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed's Twitter account. He tweeted his "deepest condolences to the families of those that have lost their loved ones". The plane was delivered to the airline just four months ago.

SAN FRANCISCO (AFP) - An Asiana Airlines Boeing 777 passenger jet crashed and burst into flames on Saturday as it landed short of the runway at San Francisco International Airport, killing two people and injuring 181 others. Investigators said they could not yet offer an explanation for the crash of Flight 214, which had 307 people - 291 passengers and 16 crew - on board when it left Seoul. But images appeared to suggest the aircraft struck a rocky area at the water's edge short of the runway at the airport - a major international hub, especially for flights to and from Asia. Pictures showed the tail detached from the fuselage, and the landing gear had also sheared off. "At this time there are two fatalities," the city's fire chief Joanne Hayes-White said. One person was still unaccounted for, officials said, revising downwards an earlier estimate of dozens. The remainder of those on board were uninjured. The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) said there was no indication that terrorism was to blame for the crash. Survivor Elliott Stone told CNN that as it came in to land, it appeared the plane "sped up, like the pilot knew he was short." "And then the back end just hit and flies up in the air and everybody's head goes up to the ceiling." Video footage showed the jet on its belly surrounded by firefighters with debris scattered on the runway and in the surrounding area. "It looked normal at first... the wheels were down," an unidentified man who witnessed the crash told CNN. "It just hit (the seawall) like that and the whole thing just collapsed immediately. "It just pancaked immediately. The wings caught on the tarmac." A team of experts from the National Transportation Safety Board was heading to San Francisco to investigate the crash landing. "Everything is on the table at this point," NTSB chairwoman Debbie Hersman told reporters in Washington when asked if pilot error was to blame. "We have to gather the facts before we reach any conclusions." One dramatic photo tweeted by a survivor showed people streaming out of the jet following the crash-landing. An inflatable slide was at the front entrance. Other emergency exits also appeared to have been used. "I just crash landed at SFO. Tail ripped off. Most everyone seems fine. I'm ok," the passenger, Mr David Eun, wrote on Twitter. But another photo from above showed a more distressing scene, with most of the roof of the plane missing and the cabin seating area charred by fire. The aircraft's wings were still attached. "I saw some passengers bleeding and being loaded onto an ambulance," another passenger, Chun Ki Wan, told YTN TV in Seoul. "Everything seemed to be normal before it crash-landed." Mr Stone said he feared for the flight crew seated in the back of the plane, which took off in Shanghai, stopped in Seoul and then headed to the United States. "They were sitting in the back end and got hammered because we landed short. And then they all fell out and it was just the most terrible thing I've seen," he said. The airport was closed immediately after the incident but two runways later reopened. Some flights were diverted to Los Angeles. Among those on board were 77 Koreans, 141 Chinese, 61 US citizens, and one Japanese national, Asiana said in a statement. San Francisco General Hospital said it was treating 34 patients, five of them in critical condition. Local media cited multiple witnesses who said the plane had approached the runway at an awkward angle, with several onlookers saying they then heard a loud bang. An Emirates Airlines Boeing 777-300, registration A6-EMW performing flight EK-521 from Thiruvananthapuram (India) to Dubai (United Arab Emirates) with 275 people on board, was on final approach to Dubai's runway 12L at 12:41L (08:41Z) but attempted to go around from low height. The aircraft however did not climb, but after retracting the gear touched down on the runway and burst into flames. All occupants evacuated safely, no injuries are being reported. The aircraft burned down completely. The airline reported: "Emirates can confirm that an incident happened at Dubai International Airport on 3rd August 2016 at about 12.45pm local time." United Arab Emirates Government confirmed an Emirates aircraft arriving from India suffered a crash landing at Dubai Airport, all passengers have been evacuated, there are no reports of injuries. According to ATC recordings the aircraft performed a normal approach and landing, there was no priority or emergency declared. Upon contacting tower tower reminded the crew of lowering the gear and cleared the aircraft to land. Another approach reported on tower frequency. About 2 minutes after EK-521 reported on tower, the crew reported going around, tower instructed the aircraft to climb to 4000 feet, the crew acknowledged climbing to 4000 feet, a few seconds later tower instructs the next arrival to go around and alerts emergency services. At least four people have been killed in a military plane crash near Seville airport in Spain. The plane, a new Airbus A400M, reportedly developed a fault just after take-off on a test flight. Local media say that those on board were Spanish Airbus employees. Two have also been seriously injured. Spain's Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy has expressed his sorrow over the incident which took place about 1.6km (1 mile) away from San Pablo airport. Local media say that the plane had signalled that there was a fault with its systems just before the crash. he plane reportedly hit an electric power line as the pilots tried to make an emergency landing. The survivors have been taken to hospital by helicopter. A Spanish interior ministry spokesman told The Associated press news agency that one person had been conscious when they were taken out of the wreckage. Mr Rajoy said the government was ready to support the families of all of those involved in the accident. The accident took place in a field just north of San Pablo airport. According to local media, the crash site is close to the Airbus manufacturing plant which assembles the planes. The Airbus A400M plane model is not yet used by the Spanish military. Three F-5s were involved in the exercise, but none of the pilots onboard the other aircraft witnessed the accident, because the jet that crashed was at the rear of the formation. As the jet finished its final run and prepared to return to its base, it suddenly lost control and crashed. Several eyewitnesses said they saw the jet fly by before crashing. The plane appeared to be heading toward factories and residential areas, but the pilots seemed to have attempted to avoid them and turned the aircraft toward a military complex nearby, eyewitnesses said. Burns covered 45 per cent of his body and he spent almost 60 days in hospital, “walking the line” between life and death. Yesterday, in a clear testimony to how far he has recovered, the 29-yearold was among five Singaporeans awarded the prestigious Chevening Scholarship by the United Kingdom government. Known previously in Singapore as the Raffles Scholarships, the programme offers bondfree scholarships to promising young Singaporeans. Mr Karthigayan, who will be the very first Chevening-British Alumni scholar, said the scholarship came as “a real boost”. “It will drive me to do even better,” he added. The scholarship, funded by the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office, will help to pay for his master’s degree in public policy at Sheffield University. Explaining his choice of study, Mr Karthigayan, a sociology graduate from UniSIM, said: “When I was doing sociology, I realised that it is public policy and governance that affects every part of daily life … If you want to be part of the change, you have to be part of (it).” Mr Karthigayan, who is currently a senior executive of student affairs at NUS’ Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, has also been working actively to inspire other burn victims through the Singapore General Hospital’s burns support team. “When you are a burn victim, your features change. Just want to share with you all something that fustrate me today. Was delivering TV today. Make my delivery and exiting the HDB carpark which has barrier. Upon exiting, the cashcard reader got detected and the barrier move up. I was about to drive thru when the barrier came down for no reason! It hit my windscreen of the van. Thank god my windscreen didn't crack. I was stunned for awhile, thinking that I am the one knocking the barrier down. but then I realise that it goes up and comes down again. Feel damn pissed off and drive away. Coz there is nobody there and it not my fault at all. 4hrs later, I finish my work and passby that place. The barrier is up again. Same barrier as the one who crashed on my van. It the same because I saw my tyre mark on the barrier. They use a cable tie and a nut to tie it up. Anyone have similar experience with carpark barrier? Feel free to share!

Just now near midnight, I was approaching the Rochor flyover towards Airport when traffic suddenly slowed to a crawl. All the cars started to filter to 1st lane and I knew confirm an accident had happened. Passed the debris on the second lane and it was possibly the Chevrolet Aveo 5 hatchback I had seen earlier at JW. Front bumper totally gone, engine exposed, and car was facing on coming traffic. At the side, there was a comfort cab with hazard lights on and several people on the road shoulder. Car might have also crashed into the barrier but am not sure. Well, if it was the same car, then I must say, the driver was probably speeding and didn't know the bendy/up and down roads on ECP next to Marina Bay well enough. I was behind him at the traffic light at Jurong West and this guy accelerate and speed like there is no consequence all the way up the long stretch next to Lakeside and Chinese Garden further down. Easiliy above 100kph there. When filtering into the highway, I picked up to highway speed quicker than him but the next moment, he zoomed past at least 130kph. The last thing I saw he did was cut someone's lane and zoom off into the distance. Didn't see his tail light at all. All I was doing was cruising at 90+.. And there was it, the car totally wasted the nx time I saw it. Of course, it might not be the same aveo but what are the chances of seeing another a maroon chevy aveo hatch at that time going in the same direction? To the driver, know your car limit and drive safe. I really hope that you are alright.

Abt 2 weeks ago i sent my GTI in for some minor repairs. a few hours later the service advisor called me up to tell me the mechanic crashed my car while test driving... the driver was hospitalised with chest pains but thankfully he was alright and discharged later on. but my poor car was impounded by the TP and only released earlier this week. Had never been satisfied with VWS' after sales service and this issue really brought my confidence in them to a new low. Granted, they made it easier for me by loaning me a Scirocco R. But im guessing my car will never be the same again. Had 2 and a half years of accident free experience with it and the dealer had to rob me of her first time...

My friend called me and told me her car was damaged when she crashed into a fallen branch. It was in lane 1 of the exp way and raining heavily at night. by the time she noticed it it ws too late to stop as visiblity was poor. Sadly, the repair cost abt 3-4k. Is this an act of god? can claim Npark?
