My 4yr old is having this consistent cough with phlegm for about over 2 weeks already.. western medication is useless and we don't want to put her thru antibiotics. The last round took about 4 weeks to recover.. with antibiotics, and she was so weak during the course. We thought it is probably time to try TCM instead. Anyone has recommendation for a good TCM physician / doctor?

Let me see... Convenience near home? - checked Private hospital? - checked Location of hospital in city? - checked Sunday? - checked With all the above, Ms Lim ought to know what was the deal. Not that I agree to the charges but let's face it, medical treatment here is never in the cheap category. Just last week when I brought my little gal for the same cough & throat consultation at my HDB estate's family clinic on a weekday afternoon already set me back almost 4 red notes. From ST Forum: http://www.straitstimes.com/STForum/Online...ory_813591.html $123 bill for cough and throat consultation Published on Jun 22, 2012 LAST month, I visited the Raffles Hospital Outpatient Clinic to treat a cough and sore throat because it was closest to home, and open on Sundays. Prior to making the visit, I checked and received confirmation that it was an outpatient clinic, and not an accident and emergency department. As such, I assumed that the billing would fall within the norms. But I was shocked by the $123.70 bill for a five-minute consultation with the doctor. I quickly e-mailed the hospital for a clarification. A month later and to date, I have not received a reply. Why are patients at an outpatient clinic charged fees that one would only expect for accident and emergency services? Agnes Lim (Ms)

My child used to have cough and cold very often when she was 1.5 to 2.5 years old, have been to many Western and Chinese doctors to help heal this sickness. Lately, she has recovered a lot, hardly have any now, even if she has any of them, she can recover within the day. But now she starts to cough during night when she is going to sleep, daytime is ok, no cough at all. Sometimes the cough goes away when she is sleeping soundly, but if she is not sleeping well, she will cough until she vomit the milk. So we gave her cough medication from KK just to help her sleep well, but we know this is not a good choice. I think this has to do with her poor respiratory function. Anyone can advise how to help improve this condition? Many thanks

http://www.reuters.com/article/health-SP/i...NAS880320071030 Wyeth recalls cough, cold, brands with faulty cups NEW YORK, Oct 29 (Reuters) - Wyeth (WYE.N: Quote, Profile, Research) said on Monday it was recalling several of its Robitussin cough, cold and congestion products and its Children's Dimetapp Cold & Chest Congestion medicine because their dosage cups lack a measurement mark for young children. The company said dosage cups for the affected products do not have a half-teaspoon mark, the recommended dose for children aged 2 to under 6. "This action is specific to the dosage cup and not related to the medication itself," Wyeth said, noting it was recalling the products at U.S. retail outlets. The products will be replaced beginning early next month with new dosage cups that are fully calibrated, the Madison, New Jersey-based company said. It said the products being recalled and replaced include Robitussin Cough DM, Robitussin Cough & Cold CF, Robitussin Cough & Congestion, Robitussin Chest Congestion, Robitussin Head & Chest Congestion PE, Robitussin Cough Sugar Free DM and Children's Dimetapp Cold & Chest Congestion. ----------------

OK I was at Xtra at AMK today. Went to the automotive section and saw Coughlube selling there. The 10W30 mineral oil is going for 29.90 The 5W30 blend is going for 39.90 Now here is the funny part. Somebody better tell the folks at Xtra to do more research. Coughlube 5W40 now appears in two forms. The long tall slim bottle and the familiar curvvy bottle. The long tall slim bottle is going for 39.90 and the curvvy bottle is going for 43.xx. All volumes are 5L. The difference is the curvvy bottle says FULLY SYNTHETIC and the long tall slim bottle has no such words.....AH! I get it! FULLY SYNTHETIC = PAY MORE! Both bottles say Tetrosyl on it. They are both the same oil at the same grade at 5W40.
