hi guys, i just want to double confirm with you guys... my car is due for car inspection in Aug... but i am converting my car to OPC next month. i called up LTA they say i dun need to go for car inspection this time since not due yet... i just need to go to LTA office, fill up the papers, provide the update insurance invoice then put on the red car plate and do the sealing thing. is it true i dun need to send for my car for serivicing prior to OPC conversion? http://www.lta.gov.sg/content/ltaweb/en/ro...kend-car.html#9 although it says "Inspection certificate (if applicable) " so just need to confirm... cos my road tax ending soon... need to convert before it ends.

http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/sin...1079916/1/.html Converting 10% of PRs to citizens "not a target": SM Goh's press secretary By Joanne Chan | Posted: 08 September 2010 1912 hrs SINGAPORE: The press secretary to Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong has said that the figure mentioned by Mr Goh about Permanent Residents who will be asked to take up citizenship, was only for "illustrative purposes". Mr Ho Tong Yen was replying to queries following Mr Goh's comments at a dialogue session at Marine Parade on Monday. Mr Goh was reported as saying that the government might approach ten percent of PRs in Singapore to take up citizenship and if they did not do so, their PR status would not be renewed. Mr Ho said that the Senior Minister was making a general observation to illustrate the point that the government would be managing the inflow of PRs and that some would be encouraged to become citizens. The figure of ten percent which Mr Goh gave was "not a target", and it is also not the case that all PRs who turn down the offer of Singapore citizenship would not have their PR status renewed, said Mr Ho. The government will continue to review and refine its policies to ensure that those who have PR status are an asset to Singapore's society and that those who are given citizenship are, in addition, assessed to be committed in their allegiance to Singapore, added Mr Ho. - CNA/ir

Was talking to my neighbour at the car park and what a shock I receive when I happen to look into his Toyota Wish. He had completely removed his 3rd row seat and convert it into a space for running his home delivery business. I asked him why don't he just buy Honda Airwave or any other model station wagon and his reply was, he likes Wish. Well couldn't convince him, so just have to go along with him since he likes it this way. To those Wish owners, would you convert your Wish into a sation wagon ?

Is there any way for us normal buyers to have a new car converted to bi-fuel before registration? like the new taxi company running CNG streams.. I'm thinking that the green rebate will offset part of, if not all of the cost of the conversion. There are a number of reasons I don't want to convert my current ride (ok i want to but after discussion with CO, decided to hold first, not for current ride). This is a separate issue from converting ur current ride to CNG, it's already very well discussed in genie's thread. so let's focus more on the conversion for new cars Maybe guyver could shed some light? cos u running PI biz now.

Interesting article here. http://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/bu...onversions.html So you've read about HID headlamps and have it in mind to convert your car. A few mouse clicks on the web, and you've found a couple of outfits offering to sell you a "conversion" that will fit any car with a given type of halogen bulb. STOP! Put away that credit card. An HID kit consists of HID ballasts and bulbs for "retrofitting" into a halogen headlamp. Often, these products are advertised using the name of a reputable lighting company ("Real Philips kit! Real Osram kit! Real Hella kit!") to try to give the potential buyer the illusion of legitimacy. Fact: While some of the components in these kits are sometimes manufactured by the companies mentioned, the components aren't being put to their designed or intended use. Reputable companies like Philips, Osram, Hella, etc. NEVER endorse this kind of "retrofit" usage of their products. Halogen headlamps and HID headlamps require very different optics to produce a safe and effective
