  3. I feel abit violated liao. Used to swim there after my occasional JB trips. Any bros swim @ Woodlands Swimming Pool? http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/singaporeseen/this-urban-jungle/what-are-these-weird-holes-doing-in-cubicles-of-the-mens-toilet-at-woodlands What are these weird holes doing in cubicles of the men's toilet at Woodlands Swimming Complex? A regular swimmer was worried when he spotted holes on the walls of the cubicles of Woodlands Swimming Complex, which looked like they have been drilled in by someone. After a swim session just last Saturday (Jul 12), Stomper Richard noticed a hole on the wall of the showering cubicles of the men's toilet . Upon closer look, he realised three of the cubicles had the same hole and that one could peek through them. He wrote: "I am a regular swimmer in Woodlands Swimming Complex and my son also attends swimming lessons regularly in the same pool. There are times he will attend the lessons by himself because we are staying opposite the swimming complex. "When I was showering in one of the cubicles at the male changing room that is furthest from the exit, I noticed some greyish spots on the cubicle wall. "I took a closer look and realised it is a small hole that one could peek through to the adjacent cubicle. The greyish spots looks like cement that had been used to cover the hole but was dug out again. "The location of the peek hole is purposely positioned at the crotch level and one can only imagine the "uses" for this hole. "I checked the walls of other cubicles and was shocked to discover the other cubicles walls all had similar peek holes. "As a father, how can I let my primary school age son use the shower facilities in the men's toilet with a peace of mind when there are potential sick perverts peeking at their private parts? Our children's modesty is at stake."
  4. From ST Forum: http://www.straitstimes.com/STForum/Online...ory_768477.html Issue of parking in private estates a complex one Published on Feb 20, 2012 WHILE the Land Transport Authority regularly enforces against illegal parking or stopping along expressways and major arterial roads, we manage the enforcement in private residential estates taking into account the needs of its many users ('Illegal parking a chronic problem' by Mr Song Koon Poh; last Monday). Public roads in private residential estates serve its residents, community service providers and visitors to the estate, so parking needs will vary among different private estates. Where the situation is complex, we consult the neighbourhood committee, grassroots and residents when working out the parking restriction arrangement. For example, residents and visitors to an estate may be allowed to park along the roads if they do not pose a safety hazard, obstruct traffic or block access, and if the community at large accepts such an arrangement. We seek the understanding of residents that the issue of parking in private estates is a complex one, especially as more households own more than one car. We will continue to work closely with the residents in each community to strike an appropriate balance between providing for parking needs and ensuring smooth traffic flow. Where there is indiscriminate parking, we will take enforcement action against these vehicles. We thank Mr Song for his feedback. 6. >> ASIAONE / NEWS / ASIAONE NEWS / SINGAPORE / STORY Karen Lim Wed, Apr 21, 2010 AsiaOne Hundreds evacuated in huge fire at People's Park Complex Fire at People's Park Complex Click on thumbnail to view Photos: Stomp A FIRE broke out at People's Park Complex along Eu Tong Sen Street at about 4pm today, an eyewitness told AsiaOne. The building remains closed tonight and it is not known if it will reopen tomorrow. According to a woman who works at one of the travel agencies in the complex, she was told that the fire started at a storeroom next to Canto Kitchen, a restaurant located on the fifth floor. She has declined to be named. She also told AsiaOne that black smoke was first detected by her colleagues at around 4pm but they did not start evacuating till about 25 minutes later, as the fire alarm did not go off. "My colleagues told me to grab my bag and leave although there was no alarm. "It only started ringing when we were already making our way to the ground floor," said the woman who is in her mid-fifties. Some cars are believed to be damaged by the fire as the carpark is also located on the fifth floor. Police have cordoned off all areas and are not allowing drivers to enter the carpark to collect their cars. A reader told citizen journalism website, Stomp, that "the fire is huge".
