I would like to compare the abovementioned models. 1) Pricing 2) FC 3) Handling 4) Size 5) Appearance 6) Maintenance Cost like spare parts. I like both the car design especially Opel Astra 1.6 Twinport. Was considering of Toyota Altis and my friend strongly reccomend on Ford Focus in terms of handling. The pricing is higher than Altis if I'm not wrong. But how much higher? Astra got all the cost rebate, free insurance, etc. So in the end not sure of the selling price. Too confused. Can anyone enlightened me on the pricing as well as commend on the cars. Thks alot.

BAN: Clone of Dennis78 Hi all, I been wanting to do up my solar films for my car as the weather is terrible these days. And went on to understand and enquiry about the different types of solar films offered in Singapore. To my surprise some Top brands do not seem to offer very good types of solar films and instead its the lesser known companies that do I understand that Metallic films will cause IU/GPS interference and are the lesser preferred. And IR% would be most important for heat rejection. I asked for their top specs and for my mid-size saloon BMW 320I and all LTA approved. Below are my findings for each Brand_____________Type of Solar Film____________Front IR%________________Rear IR%_______________Cost Huber Optik___________Nano-Ceramic_________________45______________________87____________________1100 V- Kool______________Metalllic-Film_________________77_____________________98_____________________1200 Absolute Tint__________Nano-Ceramic__________________95_____________________95_____________________480 Rike Cool_____________Nano-ceramic__________________80_____________________90___________________1600 Tintsy Cool_____________Nano-Ceramic__________________90_____________________90______________________949 Verdict - I decided on Absolute Tint that proves the best value and highest specs for both front and rear. It was quite shocking to know that the big brands are over-charging and not proving as good films as I thought they have.

I am currently considering b/w these 3 models-> BMW 320i, E200CGI or an audi A4. Does anyone know which brand gives the best fuel consumption?? For servicing, i know all will be expensive.. but is there a difference in cost b/w these 3?? (Generally, which will be more expensive in servicing?) Thanks

Stop comparing Spore cars to other countries
RogerNg_185295 posted a topic in General Car Discussion
Time and time again MCF members keep on comparing the prices, specs and features of the cars sold in Singapore to other countries. They lament that they have been short changed by the ADs. Local cars lack this and that when we are paying so much more. Do understand that Singapore has a unique tax structure for the cars it imports. The democratic system is also unique. So stop comparing and be happy.- 113 replies

Both at about S$90k range. What is the main difference? Anyone got the specs?

Hi all, Comparing small used Conti cars of year 2007/2008 for causal use and occasionally NSHW sprint: Peugeot 207 1.6A -Tiptronic Gearbox, Immobiliser & Parking Assist, Renault Clio 1.6A -Tiptronic Gearbox With Paddle Shifters & Steering Audio Remote Control. Citroen C4 1.6A -Steptronic Transmissions & Cruise Control. Which is a better buy, in term of the following: 1. Fuel economy 2. Handling (cornering, rough terrain, humps/bumps) 3 Spaciousness (4 adults) 4. Maintenance (availability of parts) 5. Reliability Thank you very much to all for the feedback and advice. Regards,

I was wondering how many can go through life without comparing with others. Do you feel the need to compare all types of things from cars, housing, jobs, salary, girlfriend, results etc? Is comparing good or bad? On one hand, maybe it motivates people to improve. On the other hand, it creates pointless stress.

Can owners of either vehicle come in to say something? Comparing price, road tax, FC, Handling, Acceleration, ....etc...anything between the 2 cars. Saw one Honda Civic FD Hybrid the other day at SGCarMart, sold off in just a few days. Ad price was 68.8k. All comments of the car are welcome. And I hope this thread serves as am important piece of information for those planning to buy a hybrid in future or near future.

First up! Castrol SLX Longtec 0W30 versus cxxxxxe Triple R Longlife 0W30 SLX Longtec 0W30 V@40 is 72 V@100 is 12.2 Flashpoint is 236C TBN is unknown but I believe it should be 12. Cost is 78/4L plus other freebies like camping chair if you bargain hard at Forklift. cxxxxxe Triple R Longlife 0W30 V40 is 70.0 V100 is 12.0 Flashpoint is 205C TBN is 11.2 Cost is 79.90/5L and might get free shampoo Longtec looks better on paper plus you can get some freebies. cxxxxxe looks good but if you don't care for freebies, bulk purchases of 3X bottles usually mean a lot of savings. Next is synthetic blends. Schaeffer's Supreme Blend 7000 5W30 vs cxxxxxe Triple R Semi-Synthetic 5W30 Schaeffer's Supreme Blend 7000 5W30 V@40 is 47-52 V@100 is 10-12 Flashpoint is 231C TBN is 7.5 Cost is 8.50/qt cxxxxxe Triple R Semi-Synthetic 5W30 V40 is 64.5 V100 is 10.3 Flashpoint is 199C TBN is 10.1 Cost is 39.90/5L Verdict: SS7k 5W30 with its better additive package and superior basestock. However, in the longevity stakes, cxxxxxe might be better for long drain. That TBN is good. Also in the economies of scale, 3X bottles is definitely good if you horde oil. Finally, the mineral oils. cxxxxxe Gold Extra Lite 10W30 vs Citgo Supergard 10W30 Citgo Supergard 10W30 V@40 is 68 V@100 is 10.4 Flashpoint is 231C TBN is not indicated but I guess it should be between 7 and 8. Cost is 5.75/qt cxxxxxe Gold Extra Lite 10W30 V@40 is 70.0 V@100 is 11.3 Flashpoint is 237C TBN is 7.6 Cost is 26.99/5L If you are a real cheapoman. Don't give a damn about this synthetic vs mineral debate that has raged on since the last World War, do 5-8k oil changes and only look out for your pocket, change oil filter every alternate oil change. All this so that people in Zimbabwe or Botswana gets the most screwed up used Toyota. I would say the winner is cxxxxxe Gold Extra Lite 10W30. Great if you like to horde. Citgo is good if you like my UOA report on it.
