Seven people, including a six-year-old girl, were injured, with a knife and chopper seized by the police. The police said they received a call about a man holding a chopper at 301 Commonwealth Avenue at about 7.05pm. Police officers found the man detained by members of the public when they arrived at the scene. Two men, aged 76 and 40, and a six-year-old girl sustained minor injuries. They were conscious when taken to the National University Hospital. Another three men, aged 54, 21 and 20, and a 45-year-old woman sustained minor injuries, but declined further medical assistance. Chinese-language news outlet Lianhe Zaobao reported that there were police officers at the Queens Peak condominium near Queenstown MRT station. Zaobao also reported that a group of eight people were seen, in visuals provided by a reader, on the ground floor of the condominium, throwing things in a particular direction. According to the condo’s residents, there was a pursuit along Margaret Drive, with Zaobao’s reporter finding blood stains and police officers at a block there, which is about 1km from the condo. What a shame to get disqualify in this manner. You are in a foreign country and yet you take your own sweet time and take things for granted. Let see whose head will roll this time! =========================================== S'pore swimmers disqualified 4x200m men's freestyle relay team miss their registration for the final By Jonathan Wong, At The Games Australia's (from left) Belinda Hocking, Emily Seebohm and Sophie Edington competing in the women's 100m backstroke yesterday. -- PHOTO: REUTERS NEW DELHI - THE Singapore men's 4x200m freestyle relay team suffered the embarrassment of being disqualified from their final yesterday without even hitting the pool - all because they had failed to submit their entry for the final on time. The team of Teo Zhen Ren, Jeremy Kevin Mathews, Arren Quek and Mattias Ng had clocked 7min 47.19sec in their heat in the morning to qualify for the final as the seventh-fastest team. However, the quartet's joy subsequently turned into anxiety and later disappointment when they missed the 3pm deadline for submitting their entry for the final. The bus ferrying the squad had arrived at the venue only at 3.45pm due to traffic delays. Team manager and head coach Ang Peng Siong [/color]said in a statement issued by Team Singapore: 'It usually takes us about 20 to 30 minutes to reach the Dr S.P. Mukherjee Swimming Complex. Today, it took us about an hour to reach the swimming complex.' The final was at 6pm, but the squad had left at 2.45pm so that 'the team would not have to wait at the venue for too long before their event', said Ang. He added: 'We lodged an appeal with the competitions manager, which was signed by all the head coaches of the other teams in the final, but we were not successful.'

Time: Around 8.00pm Location: Commonwealth Ave West towards Holland Direction Encounter: Honda Oddessy with 2 aunty passenger Was sending my wife back from dinner driving along Commonwealth Ave West coming down from Clementi, just after i entered into the Dover sector after the cross junction, this driver driving Honda Oddessy (SFK60*7*) came out cutting into my lane just after filtering out from clementi Rd (from Sunset way). He didn't care/see whether my car is coming from behind, at the filter lane, he should have stop to see approaching cars, instead he drove down the filter lane straight away cutting into the 2nd/center lane where my car was already approaching. I started to horn thinking that most probably he will be cutting into my lane...it happened to fast, not enough time to jam brakes, i swerve to the 1st lane almost hitting/brushing his back, luckily there isn't any car in the first lane. Seconds after driving pass his car along that stretch of road, he horned back at me and non-stop high beaming...i ignored him and maintained my cruising speed. i was about 8 car length away from him, remembered that he was quite far behind looking at the rear mirror... was still high beaming me... BueTaHan[shakehead]. I ignored then continued to drive, until he caught up with me along Dover Rd traffic light. It was red light ahead, i slowed down still in center lane, he drove pass me in the 1st lane while i'm slowing down. As the traffic light turns green, i started accelerating, the CRAZY waited for me driving at a slower speed in the first lane, when i was about to pass him, he swerve his whole car with 2 passengers inside to the left, i was shocked and stunned. Luckily i reacted fast enough to turn my car away from him. SIAO! I was damn pissed off. ] I drove behind his car don't want to get into any accident. Ahead was another traffic light along the Bouna Vista Mrt, i switched to the 3rd lane as i needed to make a left turn in front after the traffic lights, as i was driving to towards the traffic light, he slowed down again... i'm worried that he will do the same stunt again. Guess what, he swerve his car to my lane and JAM Brakes this time round. I forsee that he will do it again, i was prepared, JAM my brakes and screeching of my tyres was heard. f**king Hell ! After that i released my seat belt, put on hazard lights, open my door wanting to go down and the guy upside down. After that saw the green man was going to turn red in a few seconds. Changed my decision closed my door and continued driving, Highbeam him all the way till i make my left turn. Damn Pissed off! What are you trying to do? This is not bumper car! Seems like he don't mind getting involved in accident. Damn Dangerous!

Similar story as the sembawang incident...was driving towards Jurong at 5.55am this morning for golf in malaysia when I saw flashing lights of an emergency veh at the junction of Clementi Rd and Commonwealth Ave west near the mosque. Black MPV badly damaged and lying in the drain along the central divider underneath the MRT track. 10foot lorry facing the direction of Singapore Poly with front driver side badly damaged...ambulance was already at the scene but I think they were unable to get the trapped person/s out of the MPV...This is the same junction where the Harley guy got killed when he hit a SBS bus...

Anybody know what happened to the old man who used to sell western food before they tore the place down? Other stuff popular there was the Claypot rice as well as the famous chicken wing/bee hoon stall... So far only know the chicken wing/bee hoon stall moved to the corner coffeeshop ... but clueless about the other 2 stalls mentioned
