http://www.hardwarezone.com.sg/tech-news-oneplus-collecting-your-private-data-without-permission OnePlus is collecting your private data without permission By James Lu - on 12 Oct 2017, 9:11am OnePlus is known for its great value smartphones, but you may want to think twice before buying one. Security researcher Chris Moore has discovered that OnePlus' OxygenOS has quietly been collecting a ton of user data and transmitting it to a OnePlus server along with your phone's serial number. Moore detailed how OnePlus devices record data at various points, including when a user locks or unlocks the screen, which apps are opened, used, and closed, and which Wi-Fi networks the device connects to. While that's fairly standard, it's almost unheard of to tie that data to the phone’s IMEI, phone number, and mobile network names, which means the data can easily be traced back to you. According to Moore, the code responsible for the data collection is part of OnePlus Device Manager and OnePlus Device Manager Provider. Moore says in his case, the services had sent off 16MB of data in 10 hours. Responding to the controversy, OnePlus revealed it collects two streams of data from all users. The first is termed "usage analytics," which helps it to improve its software. It also adds that this type of data-sharing can be turned off by going into settings, selecting "advanced," and turning off "join user experience program." However, the second stream, which OnePlus refers to as "device information" can't be turned off. "We securely transmit analytics in two different streams over HTTPS to an Amazon server. The first stream is usage analytics, which we collect in order for us to more precisely fine tune our software according to user behavior. This transmission of usage activity can be turned off by navigating to 'Settings' -> 'Advanced' -> 'Join user experience program'. The second stream is device information, which we collect to provide better after-sales support." Source: Chris Moore and XDA Developers

Hi all, just bought a 2nd hand car and will collect it next week. Just to check a few enquires so pls bear with me: 1) How long will it take to transfer the ownership of the car to my name? The dealer said they will need to hold onto my IC for a few days to complete the ownership at LTA, is there such a thing? 2) The insurance premium which I am quoted of an estimation of 2.5K per annum. Do I have to pay the entire sum of 2.5K in one shot when I collect the car on the day? 3) I did a check on the road tax expiry and found out it will expire in about 3 months. Will the LTA send me a letter to renew it when it's due? Or do i have to go down LTA on the day of collection? Thanks.

Yesterday, a colleague's car had a tyre leakage. He took out from the car boot, a wheel wrench and a jack handle. No car jack was to be found within the car boot. Likely he collected the car he bought/after tire replacment without it or misplaced it before yesterday. So lucky I was there with a scissor jack from my car to help. Do check that such items are not missing with the car.

Finally got my 15 posts, and am to start thread. Will be collecting new car from dealer sometime this week, and am keen to get off to a good start. Car will be bright silver in colour. Very large car, so plenty of surface area to cover Will usually be parked exposed to afternoon-evening sun, and rain splashes. I will most probably be able to spend about 1 hour on cleaning it up each week. Got a maid who used to wash the old car about 2 times a week, but not sure if can trust her on the new car So, am looking for a professional (Non-DIY) solution which is a good balance between ease of maintenance in between, and results (excellent shine). An higher initial cost/work, but easier and better results later on. Was at 1st looking at Glaze. Attracted by its ease of maintenance but from some of the reports here, more suited for dark colour cars. Alot of lao jiao ppl here recommend Klasse for light colour cars, but given that I'm not being able to DIY everyweek myself, abit worried. I'm thinking of bringing it in to Klasse grooming centre Bukit Batok Crescent UNITY CENTRE. Probably about once every 2 months. (I stay very near there) 1) Wash & clay

We bought our car on the 9th Oct and is due to collect tomorrow 21th Oct. It went like this. 9th Oct Was at Peugeot early with my fiancee in the morning after breakfast. Intention was to buy a Peugeot 206cc; we have tested the 206 1.4 Tiptronic twice prior to this day. We love it. The 206cc are not for test driving but were assured that the 206cc would drive just as good or even better. We knew, the 206 and the 206cc are of different class. That particular weekend, both cars were going at $59,900 and $92,900 respectively. After getting a trade-in value of $31,000 for my KIA Picanto 1.1 manual. We started working out the finances for the 206cc. To take a $61,000 loan (at 3%) for the 206cc for ten years, I only need to come out $660+ per month, still quite within our budget of $1,200 per month for a car including misc expenses. We spent half the morning working out our finances at the Peugeot showroom. Then suddenly after a phone call from my brother, we started having second thoughts. He told us the hard-top of the Peugeot has known noise problems after prolonged use. He also thinks it's ugly. His comments were quite bias as he is into Japanese sports car. He also tried to convince me to get the WRX he and myself test drove on two occasions. He believes we (fiancee and me) can easily get a heavily mod up WRX for that kind of price on a 206cc. We left Peugeot showroom and actually head straight to test drive the WRX ($83,000). My fianc
