I just changed 4 shock absorbers (front are Thai made Tokico and rear are japan made original Nissan) for my Nissan Latio. However, I am still feeling that the ride is still not comfortable (can feel every bump on the road). This is the same as before changing the shock absorbers. Anyone know if this mean the new shock absorbers are not good or is there something else I need to change?

Why you need to change sway bar link when you change your coilover. Recently I have a chat with @Sdf4786k and we were discussing our rides. And then when we talk about the suspension, he enlightens me about a small yet important upgrade that is necessary for every car that has changed to a coilover. What is the Purpose of a Sway Bar Link? Automobiles are carefully designed by experts to help the users experience a smooth, comfortable, and safe ride. A sway bar link is a small but significant part of the complex mechanism that serves the purpose. The sway bar link allows the user of an automobile to adapt it in accordance with the type of terrain upon which it is to be driven. The bushings at the end of the links can be dismantled to remove the sway bar to prepare the vehicle for a rugged terrain and can be fitted back in while traversing the smoother roads. The horizontal leveling of the car, with the path it is being driven upon, is elementary to the comfort of its passengers. A long and hollow arched steel bar known as the sway bar or a stabilizer bar is fitted at the front and rear end of the vehicle to suffice for the purpose. Additionally, it ‘shifts’ the compression force from one end’s suspension to the other. This prevents the car from ‘flipping over’ while cornering at a bend in the path. The bar in itself is a torsional spring. As a counter action to the torsion produced in the bar due to irregularities of the driven path, the link at both the ends raise or lower the springs attached to the control arm of the wheel. A sway bar link can, therefore, be said to function in favor of smoothing the motion transfer between the sway bar and the control arms in the car’s suspension mechanism. Purpose of the Sway Bar Link While the driver tries to turn around a bend in a road, the suspension of the outer wheels is compressed relatively more than the suspension for the inner wheel. The inner wheel rises, but the axle attached to it lowers where the link is connected. The sway bar link transfers this change in the position of the control arm to the sway bar, which gets raised at that side. The sway bar undergoes torsion and gets twisted in order to resist the movement, and consequently the spring on the other side expands. Thus, the sway bar link transfers a change in spring compression to the sway bar that raises the spring constant for the other spring. In this manner, the difference in compression cancels out the total lean experienced by the car, and the horizontal alignment of the chassis with respect to the path remains parallel. In the absence of this action, the inner wheel of the vehicle would tend to take a wild spin and lose traction of the road. The sway bar link maintains the camber angle of the inner wheels to control its direction of motion. The portion highlighted is a sway bar link When the car is driven over a bump that extends over to both the opposite wheels (front or rear), then the sway bar does not do much, since the bump was equal. Equal and normal compressional forces are implied on the springs at both the ends of the sway bar. It is when either of the wheels out of the pairs present at the front or rear suffers a bump or a dip, then the sway bar links come into play. The change in the level of the wheel axle traverses through the links and enables the sway bar to twist so as to equalize the compression in the springs of the two ends. The net effect is that the ‘bump’ or ‘dip’ is spread evenly by the sway bar among the connected pair of wheels. To dampen these jerks, additional suspension elements are employed. Because of the differences in spring rate between a conventional shock absorber and aftermarket coilover, this upgrade should be done together when you are changing your coilover. So without further ado, I am now deciding which brand should I go for. 🤔 Hardrace from taiwan Tegiwa from UK. As above. my suspension seems perfectly fine now but I'm planning ahead. Not sure what's the service interval. I do occasional tracking and Road trips in Malaysia and usually corner real hard but I usally drive on pavements only. The dealer is Fong Kim, but I'm wondering if there are other alternatives. Cos they are pretty busy and I have this feeling that the price will not be too cheap correct me if i'm wrong I'm hoping the servicing costs below $400 for parts and labour and that it means that the coils are in 10/10 condition after tt. considering the set cost me below $1.3k when new. i'm willing to do it up north to save costs, if the job can be done in less than 6 hours. pardon my ignorance because i'm new to this. if it matters, my ride is a getz 1.1

My car is pretty low with the coilover. my front 2 tires are rubbing against the fender. also realise that my 4 tires need to be replaced now becos the tires are botak from the inner wall. i intent to increase my 4 new tires to 205 from 195. to do this, i have to raise the height of my car to at least 1 inch. my question is, any workshop you recommend to do raising of TEIN coilover and do alignment with reasonable charges? installed lowering spring last year, as expected the shocks gave way in less than a year. Anyway was testing was whether i am happy with the lower ride and sad to say i am hooked and will NEVER go back to stock. At this stage, my wife will kill me if i go back to stock .Already 2 ppl vomited in my car when on stock, my baby & my mother-in-law, not to mention a few near missed at low speeds!!!! due to the very very poor suspension setup...after lowering spring no problems at all. Dont know how they can sell the 08 Altis as a family car....maybe family boat but NOT a family car. IMO its one of the worst car available in stock (thats another story)..unfortunately no $$, so stuck with it. last few week have been hitting the speed humps and the road on carpark ramps. Already White Sands carpark, SingPost carpark and 2 HDB MSCP will hit the bottom even if i crawl over the slope. The lowering spring was good but its time to move on (the rear sag too low...only 1/2 finger). dont wish to go back to stock or stock height so what is the cheapest coilover? friend recommend GAB SS (do in JB). read also BC BR is cheap but cannot find in the marketplace (they only have BC V1). Have been searching internet but not much info cause i guess not many ppl with an Altis will upgrade their suspension (heck we dont even have a legal exhaust despite being one of the most common car on the road!!!).
