Well done SPF! Interestingly, I saw this comment on Facebook about concerns that the Police Officer should have drawn his taser instead because he could have missed his shot and hurt someone else. 🥴

Part of Clementi park connector closed after landslide SINGAPORE - A section of the park connector in Clementi has been closed after soil spilled into the nearby river on Friday morning. According to the MP for the area Sim Ann, a landslide near Clementi Ave 6 (Clementi NorthArc construction site) in the early hours of the morning caused damage to the Ulu Pandan park connector and soil displacement into Ulu Pandan Canal. The site has now been cordoned off for public safety, she said, and asked residents to stay clear of the area for now. https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/part-of-clementi-park-connector-closed-after-landslide

The rising cost of car ownership in Singapore has only made owners baby their cars more. Despite how much we baby our car, there are some instances where damage to our car is inevitable. Watch the following video to know why: What Happened? The above video was retrieved from Tesla's sentry mode, which continuously monitors and surveys the surroundings of the Tesla while it is parked. The following incident occurred at an HDB estate in Clementi, where a man was caught on video loitering around a parked Tesla and behaving suspiciously. After ensuring no one around him, he took out a key and gave the parked Tesla a long, good scratch as he walked past it. Little did he realise that his act of vandalism would be captured by the Tesla that he scratched in HIGH DEFINITION. His vandalism may be motivated by pure mischief or an act of vengeance. Regardless, it is plain wrong to commit such an act. Below is the aftermath of the act of vandalism on the Tesla: Looking at his modus operandi, I highly doubt this was his first act of vandalism. I hope the culprit is brought to justice with ample video evidence and a detailed description of the vandal. Netizens' Comments Pretty sure it will be effortless to track him down since his physical description and the area he resides in have already been established. Because getting caught on a regular dashcam is too mainstream. This made me laugh. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Join us today!

Road sign too small for Honda Vezel driver, mounts kerb to see clearer
Fadevfast posted a blog entry in MyAutoBlog
Bro has been putting off getting his eyes checked for too long already. What happened? A Honda Vezel driver decided to seek clarification from a split road sign on Clementi road, which led to him mounting the kerb and hitting the sign too. You can see the exact moment he realised that he was too close and hit the brakes. Like come on lah, the literal 2 split roads aren’t enough?? But it was too late, and he had to fully mount the kerb before getting 2 wheels back down on the road. GG to his alignment. Online chatter Because this happened yesterday on 9th August, some believed he was just feeling extra patriotic. There’s always the usual jokes and comments at bad driving… Some also enjoyed the background music playing during the recording. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Right-side PIE exit moved to the left from May 28, 2023 at 5am
kobayashiGT replied to RadX's topic in General Car Discussion
Source: https://mothership.sg/2023/05/right-side-expressway-exit-moved/ The Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) Exit 26A will be relocated from the right to the left side of the expressway from Sunday, May 28, 2023, at 5am, the Land Transport Authority announced. The current PIE Exit 26A -- west bound towards Tuas -- is located on the right side and vehicles must keep to the right-most lane to exit, which is unlike other expressway exits that are on the left. The new PIE Exit 26A comprises the new Rifle Range underpass, which runs under the west-bound PIE. With the new exit on the left, motorists will be able to exit the PIE more smoothly and continue their travel towards Dunearn Road/ Clementi Road and Upper Bukit Timah Road, LTA said. There is no change in travelling direction after exiting. Following the opening of the new exit, the previous PIE Exit 26A will be removed. LTA will also realign the existing Hua Guan Avenue and progressively reinstate it into a standard dual one-lane road. How the new exit was constructed To construct the left exit, works were carried out in phases with diversions undertaken to minimise disruptions to the traffic on PIE and ensure safety of motorists and workers, LTA said. Engineering challenges encountered include having to contend with a unique terrain with shallow rock outcrops and working within a narrow working corridor beside a “live” expressway. Controlled rock blasting was carried out in stages to remove the granite rock outcrop, LTA explained. This phase had been carefully calibrated due to the proximity of the site to residential developments and the PIE. Covid-19 and the resulting manpower crunch also posed additional challenges to the project, LTA added. In the coming weeks, informational and directional traffic signs will be put out to inform and guide motorists of the relocation. All photos via LTA -
Instant karma for cyclist who tries to cut off cars during a red light
Fadevfast posted a blog entry in MyAutoBlog
TL;DR - Cyclist in Clementi thinks he's the Boss of the road, gets knocked down by SUV during green light for vehicles. Netizens unanimously laugh. While I’m not a driver, I understand how annoying cyclists can be. I like running, and in my usual route there’s a narrow stretch where cyclists are supposed to dismount. There is a large sign at both ends of this stretch telling them to dismount. Something like this. But they don’t, so my momentum dies because some fellow can’t obey rules and my run becomes more miserable than it already is. As a result of this, seeing this video on Facebook today pleased me greatly. What happened? On 8 April, 10 A.M, a cyclist at Clementi forgot his place on the road and tried to pull a very stupid manoeuvre. The cyclist, who I presume is named Clementi with the entitled way he was riding, successfully cut off the car on his lane during a green light for vehicles. However, he was less successful in the opposing lane, as a Suzuki Vitara was unable to stop in time and sent this cyclist flying. Let’s watch that again, it was pretty funny. A pedestrian crossing was also right beside the cyclist when he attempted this, so this accident could have been easily avoided if he had some patience and courtesy. But now he suffers some injuries, physically and to his ego. Hopefully the latter scars, for everyone’s sake. Online chatter The internet united once again for a laugh, and made more jokes about the incident to fuel the joy. Others noted how satisfying the incident was and how they can’t stop watching the video. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. The following incident is quite a handful, featuring an inconsiderate Suzuki swift driver, the Suzuki's 'guai-lan' passenger and a very angry cam car driver. Watch the it here: What Happened? The incident occurred at an open-air carpark. For some reason, the female Suzuki Swift driver decided to drive out of the parking lot to the middle of the road for her passenger (likely her son) to load groceries into the car. Just then, the cam car driver that was parked opposite the Suzuki Swift wanted to drive off, only to be blocked by the Suzuki Swift. There was nothing the cam car driver could do but watch the male passenger load up the groceries into the Suzuki Swift. At this point, the cam car driver started to get annoyed by the pair's inconsiderate and selfish act. After turning out to the main road of the carpark, the cam car driver meets the male passenger again - this time, on his way to return the trolley. Upon realising the cam car was trailing closely behind him, the male passenger turned around and started making hand gestures to the cam car. Moments later, he suddenly stopped walking, which caused the cam car to gently 'bump' into him (?). The male passenger immediately whips out his mobile phone to take pictures of the cam car and film him. And even as the male passenger was filming the cam car, the obviously infuriated cam car driver decided to intimidate him by inching forward, nearly hitting the youth once again. In retaliation to the cam car's intimidation, the youth gently slides the trolley towards the cam car, which knocks into the cam car's front bumper. It is uncertain how the incident ended. Regardless, both parties were definitely in the wrong. One party lacked the graciousness and upbringing, while the other decided to take matters into his own hands and attempted to intimidate the youth by inching his car towards him. What do you think? Netizens' Comments This would be a funny😂 But I think he might have really been knocked into tho. But his reaction still GTG lah🥴 Need to ownself check ownself first. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. BMW driver gives camera car his piece of mind after being denied space to merge
chitchatboy posted a blog entry in MyAutoBlog
Here's another case of Singaporean drivers not being gracious. For those who have been reading our blogs, this looks slightly similar to the other incident we posted last week where the camera car refuses to give way. Posted on SG Road Vigilante first, this BMW 5 Series could be seen cutting across the camera car's lane and also across the double white lines early in the video. Our first instinct was, "wow what a horrible move by the BMW". But later in the clip, you will notice that the BMW did signal his intention of going into the filtering lane at the end of Clementi Ave 6 going towards Bukit Batok. However, the camera car chose to not give way, probably triggering the BMW driver's temper. Not a cool move from the camera car we rekon. Would you have given way to the BMW if you were driving the camera car? Or you reckon the BMW is just being silly? Let us know! -
Singaporean woman's wedding with 'ang moh' husband at Clementi void deck is like no other source: https://stomp.straitstimes.com/singapore-seen/singaporean-womans-wedding-with-ang-moh-husband-at-clementi-void-deck-is-like-no We have all been to our fair share of weddings — but have you ever attended any that left an exceptionally deep imprint on your mind? A wedding that Stomper Grace attended on Saturday (Jan 4) was so special and unique that she decided to share her experience with Stomp. The joyous occasion was held at Block 306A Clementi Avenue 4 and combined several elements from different cultures. Grace said: "We've all been to weddings in Singapore, but what made the recent one I attended so special is the couple's effortless way of bringing multiculturalism together on their wedding day. "For background, my good friend is a Singaporean Chinese who recently married a Brit who has been living here in Singapore for a number of years now. "With friends and family coming in from all parts of the world, they wanted to show the unique culture of Singapore." According to Grace, the couple chose the void deck of their block in Clementi as their wedding venue "instead of opting for the usual ballroom". Forget stiff formal gowns and black ties — what made the wedding stand out even more was its 'lepak chic' dress code. Grace recounted: "The food was catered from the couple's favourite restaurant Pariaman, which serves Indonesian cuisine. "There was also a bar that served customised cocktails honouring the couple's respective cultures, as well as a 'potion' inspired by their love for the Dota 2 game. "Guests were entertained with a special lion dance performance and a friendly visit from the ice-cream uncle." Asked if the couple had specifically hired the ice-cream man, Grace explained: "They reached out to the uncle because he sells ice cream around their block. "They told him, 'Come at this time, we will give you $xxx and you can have some business.' "They weren’t sure if he would turn up because they didn’t officially pre-book him or anything, but he did! So I guess you could say he was hired! "As the groom was Jewish, they also had a chuppah as part of their ceremony decor." A chuppah is a canopy under which a couple stands during Jewish weddings. It typically consists of a cloth stretched or supported over four poles. The Stomper added: "After the bride was given the ring, the groom broke a glass as everyone shouted, 'Mazel Tov!' (meaning 'congratulations' in Hebrew). "The celebrations continued with a Jewish celebratory dance (known as a Horah), with the bride and groom lifted on chairs while everyone else danced around in circles." (Grace told Stomp that the Horah was her favourite part of the wedding) (Ms Sim Ann, Senior Minister of State at the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth and Ministry of Communications and Information, made a surprise appearance at the wedding) Grace said: "What made everything extra special was a surprise visit from the Member of Parliament for Holland-Bukit Timah, Ms Sim Ann, who probably heard about the wedding too! "I can’t think of a better way to witness this beautiful multicultural wedding right here in Singapore."

I know NPNT becoz I was quite far away and got TP watching, I cannot be inconsiderate. Pass by around 8pm Saw a what seems like a chemical truck over the railing of the very sharp bend of AYE Clementi Ave 6 exit (towards Tuas). I was entering AYE in the opposite entrance. Only had a few glances. The big truck was topple over the railing mid-way around the sharp bend. My wife spotted a couple of ambulance. Saw rescue workers running around. AYE as usual tail back to NUH with almost standstill traffic.

Seems like they relocate the exit from clementi ave 6 onto PIE - TUAS And they put a yellow box on the expressway...this new relocation is a complete failure. The new exit is waiting for accident to happen ..the old exit is already badly designed so near to the toh tuck. The new one is even worse and more prone to accident.

A FORMER bus driver has been charged with causing the death of the wife of a prominent professor at a pedestrian crossing in Clementi three months ago. Chan Mun Hing, 48, faces a jail term of up to five years, or a fine or both, if he is convicted of causing death by a rash act. He was driving an SBS Transit double-decker bus at the junction of Clementi Avenue 3 and Commonwealth Avenue West on April 23 when he allegedly failed to give way to housewife Zhang Huirui, 42. Pinned under the bus, she was dragged for about 5m before the vehicle came to a stop. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Source: http://www.straitstimes.com/breaking-news/...cident-20130716

Hi friends, my dad was involved in an accident at the above time and place, somewhere after Clementi Caltex. His car flipped a few times and landed sideways (I do not wish to share what casued it because Iwas not there). He is now being monitored for spinal injuries. All I wish to say is that he is a very slow and careful driver. He is so slow and careful that he was late for my ROM many years back because he refuse to speed. I do have a eye-witness but hoping if any bros drove pass that day with mounted car camera. Thanks in advance. I also heard the case appeared in a evening chinese papers on Sat. We did not buy. If you have the article, maybe can help to scan? I wish to see what is being written. Thanks many many.

After the launch of Clementi DBSS which is the most expensive DBSS so far, HDB announced today that there will be 670 BTO flats just beside Clementi DBSS available for ballot in March 2012. Why don't HDB in the first place develop the whole vacant area either for BTO or DBSS? Now half BTO and half DBSS side by side, really not fair to those DBSS buyer The BTO might be 50k to 100k cheaper than the DBSS http://forum.channelnewsasia.com/showthrea...3-923-new-flats

With the price of $700K and yet it is three times oversubscribed....These couples combined income not exceeding $10K per month, are they living beyond their means? With all the recent D&B projects hitting ridiculous price range but still rec'd oversubscribed response...Now market has interpreted this price range is acceptable....Sighed....What's wrong with these people....
