Hi all, as many of you have experience buying from PI, assuming that the car you booked is not VAC-ready, kindly share your personal experience on your waiting time between the car's arrival in Singapore to clearing the port, LTA inspection and finally your collection date. I've been digging around the forums and most of the information comes from a few years ago, which is quite outdated already. Also, take the chance to share some of your own recent experience with PIs.

Deregistering my red 05 Altis in 2 weeks. Wonder if any bros wanna trade/buy over any items. will try to upload some pics later but generally my ride is 1. Stock engine (no performance enhancing parts/devices) 2. Cosmetic wise, have spoiler, front lip, sports grill. 3. 16 inch black rims with red lining. Seen some curb wear Honestly speaking, any deal will have to be at my convenience and will very likely have to be carried out on weekdays in Woodlands

China passport holders to get automated clearance at immigration ... So, looks like automated will not be faster anymore from 16 Nov onwards .... and with this increase in numbers, would this cause inconvenience to us, Singaporeans? Only time will tell ... http://www.todayonline.com/singapore/china-passport-holders-get-automated-clearance-immigration SINGAPORE — From Nov 16, eligible Chinese citizens will be able to use the enhanced immigration automated clearance system (eIACs) service at Singapore’s checkpoints, announced the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) today (Nov 6). China passport holders above the age of six are eligible to enrol for the automated service. They must also hold a valid five-year (or longer) Multiple Journey Visa issued by Singapore and have visited Singapore at least three times in the preceding 12 months, Enrolment is on a voluntary service and is free of charge. Interested applicants should bring their passport (with remaining validity of at least six months), one recent colour passport-size photograph and other relevant documents to the enrolment centres located at Changi Airport, Woodlands Checkpoint, Tuas Checkpoint and the ICA Building to apply for this service. Those aged between six and 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and present documentary proof of relationship. The ICA said the move will provide greater travel convenience for Chinese visitors and facilitate trade, business and tourism links between Singapore and China. Currently the service is also available to Australian and Hong Kong citizens, as well as Malaysian citizens who are assessed to be eligible under the Frequent Traveller Programme at the time of application.

Not sure if anyone has posted this. I tested ICA automated primary clearance this morning at Woodlands checkpoint, lane 9. There 3 criteria to meet in order to use this service: 1. Singapore citizen 2. Singapore PR 3. Only 1 person in car (driver himself of course) The procedure goes something like this: 1. drive your car to the lane | counter 9 (first lane on right most side, farthest from Motorcycle lane) 2. before first barrier, insert first | last page with the barcode facing down into the slot 3. wait for the screen to prompt process to next step when the 1st barrier lifts 4. scan your right or left thumb print at the counter, at the same time, an ICA officer inside the counter will check whether if you are really traveling alone and issue you the small memo 5. when thumb print pass, 2nd barrier will lift and you are good to go The whole process took me less than 30 second with both steps performed without any glitch. I know for fact that this system has been implemented on pedestrians | bus patrons and motorcyclist with special frequent travelers card or biometric SG passport, I am surprised that it even works on MY passport (PR can use this system also)?

Hi ppl, Need some advise. I recently saw some AV system for home theatre 5.1 package. It's a pair JBL floorstanding speakers, rears, centre, and a rather solid woofer + a harmon/kardon amp (model is ??300??). Whole JBL package I think is...?? 4555 ?? Anyway, it's selling at half price! $699. Seems like a super good deal to me. Coz if I were to go outside, maybe just a amp will cost me $599 liao. Woofer maybe $400 liao.... But the drawback is....This clearance set of JBL is display one. And I understood that it's 3yrs old liao. But the shop will give me 1 yr warranty. Quite alot of scratches on the woofer though....(but was thinking, maybe can get some carpenters to redo the veneers?) So.....any comments? I personally think it's a good deal since the woofer sounds very good (woofer made in canada, not sure about the speakers though).
