https://www.mycarforum.com/topic/2712580-ns-related-deaths/?p=6520443 So some trials are still ongoing but seems like my previous expectation was wrong. The main perp (person who pushed Yuen Chin) was sentenced to only 1 year+ in prison. Reckon the other guys are going to get away with slap on the wrists. IMO, this should have been classified as manslaughter. Sad.

PMD rider receives sweet chin music from enforcement officer
chitchatboy posted a blog entry in MyAutoBlog
A video of an enforcement officer kicking a rider off his personal mobility device along Bedok Reservoir Road has been caught on someone's in-car camera. The e-scooter rider, who probably caught sight of the few officers coming to get him from across the road, tried to evade from the right most lane to the left most. However, the quick-acting enforcement officer managed to deliver WWE superstar Shawn Michaels (HBK)'s sweet chin music move on the poor rider, sending rider into the hedge on the side of the road. The kick might also remind some of the movie '300' where Gerard Butler shouted "THIS IS SPARTA" before delivering the fatal kick... Since PMDs have been banned from footpaths and on the roads, the authorities have been cracking down hard on errant riders.- 1 comment

Following the departure of Fiona Xie, Dawn Yeoh, and Jesseca Liu, Caldecott Hill's seven princesses are now whittled down to a mere four: Jeanette Aw, Felicia Chin, Joanne Peh, and Rui En. At last night's Star Awards 2010 Show 2 held in Resorts World Singapore, Felicia Chin hinted at the possibility of being next-to-go in her Top 10 Most Popular Female Artiste award acceptance speech when she said, "This might be my last time standing on this stage." In an interview with xinmsn, the 26-year-old actress professed her nervousness and happiness in winning this award. She felt particularly touched with this win because "I have not been appearing on local TV screens in Singapore for a long time." "I was told that my name was on the Top 10 Most Popular Female Artiste listings for the past 9 weeks and I am really grateful for this," she honestly quipped. Decked out in a colourful ensemble from Indian designer, Manish Arora, Felicia played coy when asked about her mysterious hint onstage saying, "it is hard to predict what will happen in future." Currently filming an upcoming sports drama series, No Limits, with Elvin Ng and Dai Yangtian, she likened the award as "a very good present" and repeatedly expressed her thanks and joy. When asked if she plans to leave the entertainment industry and return to school -- as she previously mentioned in interviews, Felicia said nothing and merely confessed that her mother "hopes for me to finish my studies." "I personally hope to complete my father and mother's tiny dream. I personally feel that studying is a really great thing to do. It's like taking one step forward. It's not convenient for me to reveal my contract details, but there might be some minor changes this year. "Time will tell," the enigmatic one concluded.

my bro had a minor accident scratching his bumper and denting another's bumper.. it was a minor accident and my bro on the scene gave the driver his number hoping to pass him cash for repair however, the driver drove down his vehicle to the workshop, and ask the workshop to claim from us instead. thinking its a small incident, and just a few hundred of dollars, my bro did not make an insurance claim. and the workshop never did call us regarding the repairs. 2 months has passed, and now a lawyer sent us insurance claim of $8900SGD (super hyperinflated repair cost) for just a bumper repair i contacted the workshop and they agreed its a misunderstanding. they say i shld go down to make a motor insurance claim today.. is this still possible given 2 months already? thanks a lot buddy. really distressing to shelve out 8.9k at this kind of economy and am i right to bargain for the repair costs even after the lawyer claim is made?

Anyone was there this morning around 7.15 am? Accident was terrible. 2 motorbikes were overturned and lying on the ground. One of the bikes had its seats came off. Traffic Police was there to direct the traffic. Blocked all the lanes of the tunnel road except the overtaking lane. So early in the morning. Drive/ride so fast.

ST 28/5 Maths sum posed to PM Lee: Divide 5,000 by 4.6m HOW much is 5,000 divided by 4.6 million? That was the maths question Ms Chee Siok Chin challenged Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong to work out on the spot as she tried to prove her party's newsletter, The New Democrat, had limited reach. The 5,000 figure represents the number of copies sold of the Singapore Democratic Party (SDP) newsletter which contained defamatory statements against the Government. The other number refers to the population of Singapore. Ms Chee posed the question and asked PM Lee if he had a calculator. When he said he did not, she retorted: 'I'm sure your mind is astute enough to do a very simple mathematical calculation... and work it out.' PM Lee worked out the calculation - around one in 1,000 - and then pointed out that the answer did not accurately reflect the article's reach. This stretched beyond the number of newsletters sold, he said, when responding later to a question from his counsel Davinder Singh during re-examination. There was also the 'word of mouth after the article has been read, circulating on the grapevine and in the coffee shops' - 'poisonously distorted, loaded, more and more damaging, impossible to trace, except in court, where the truth will come out', he said. Of the 5,000 copies sold, 'each copy could have been circulated to many readers', he added. In addition, 'Dr Chee, Ms Chee and several others (from the SDP) were going around' repeating the defamatory allegations in the newsletter, 'as broadly as possible, as loudly as possible', 'to achieve as much impact as possible', said Mr Lee. Finally there was the Internet, where there were many more eyeballs reading the allegations. During the earlier exchange with Ms Chee over the calculation she set for him, those in the public gallery were amused when she got her sums mixed up. After Mr Lee worked out the one in 1,000 figure, Ms Chee said that was '0.0001' per cent of the population. PM Lee had to correct her maths: 'I think you have one zero too many.'

Anyone experienced poor FM reception in Chin Swee Tunnel (CTE) recently? I remembered the reception used to be fine until recently.
